It is, in my opinion, one of the top cash back cards to get in the US if you have excellent credit. Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express is, in my opinion, a good choice of card for you if you like to get cash rebates and enjoy the benefits of an American Express card without forking out any annual fee. What I find very attractive about this card is its straightforward cash rewards program - there's no minimum spending required, no enrollment needed and there are no rotating categories (unlike many other cash back cards). Here I will review Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express with no annual fee, so that you'll have a better idea of what this card offers, and I'll also tell you what you should watch out for. Note that this card is only for US residents with good to excellent credit score. At American Express' secure siteOur Least Favorite Things About Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American ExpressPenalty fees if you pay late. Who can really blame a lender for charging a fee if you don't pay up on time? If you pay your credit card bill late or if your payment is returned, you will have to pay a penalty fee of up to $37. Of course you should never pay late as it damages your credit score, but there are other cards that don't charge a penalty fee when you pay late. Paying late also earns you a 29.49% penalty APR. This is a very rewarding card with lots of benefits, but don't even dream about thinking of paying your credit card bill late. If you aren't the most responsible of people, or if you just don't have a great memory, this may not be the right card for you.How Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express Compares With Similar CardsView DetailsBankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card is very similar to Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express in the way you earn cash back. When you charge purchases to this card, you earn 3% on gas and 2% at grocery stores (for the first $1,500 in combined grocery and gas purchases each quarter), and 1% cash back on every other purchase. So it's really a case of reversed roles, with Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express offering higher cash back for purchases at U.S. supermarkets, but lower cash back for purchases at U.S. gas stations. But BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card also lets you get a 10% customer bonus each time you redeem your cash back into a Bank of America® checking or savings account. If you are a Preferred Rewards client at Bank of America, that customer bonus can increase to 25%-75%. You pay no annual fee for this card (just like Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express. At Discover's secure siteDiscover it® - Double Cash Back your first year has a solid bonus offer (Discover will double all the cash back you've earned at the end of your first year), which may or may not give you more than the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express bonus offer does, depending on how you spend. This card has no foreign transaction fee (Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express has a foreign transaction fee of 2.7% of each transaction after conversion to US dollars) and no annual fee. Unlike Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express, which lets you get higher cash back on fixed categories of purchases, this Discover card gives you 5% cash back on purchases (up to a quarterly maximum) in categories that change each quarter, when you sign up. All other purchases earn 1% cash back (just like with Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express). This card has no late fee on your first late payment, and paying late won't raise your APR, which makes it a safer choice for forgetful people. If you like to earn a high rate of cash back on many different types of purchases throughout the year, then Discover it® - Double Cash Back your first year is hard to beat. But Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express is a much more solid card for hassle-free cash back on everyday purchases. It gives you much higher cash back and more benefits (hard to believe, but true. In exchange, you pay a $75 annual fee (Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express has no annual fee). But that annual fee may well be worth it for you, especially if you are a bigger spender. You earn 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets (for up to $6,000 of purchases per year, then 1%) and 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations & select U.S. department stores. 6% cash back at supermarkets is a lot! You earn 1% cash back on other purchases. Terms and limitations apply. When you successfully apply for this card and spend at least $1,000 in your first 3 months as a card member, you get $150 back as a statement credit. If you spend $6,000 per year (average $500 per month) or more at U.S. supermarkets, then this is the better card for you because the extra cash back you earn far outweighs the annual fee. The 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations and select U.S. department stores (compared to the 2% you get with Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express) is just one more reason to get this card. But if you prefer not to pay an annual fee, the benefits and cash back you earn with Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express are almost unmatched by no annual fee credit cards. If you want to get generous cash back at U.S. supermarkets, U.S. gas stations and U.S. department stores without paying an annual fee, Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express is the card to get.Our Verdict:Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express (no annual fee) is, in my opinion, a good credit card to get as you'll earn 3% cash rebate on up to $6,000 spent per year in purchases at U.S. supermarkets (1% cash back after that), 2% on gas (at U.S. gas stations) and select U.S. department store purchases and 1% on other eligible everyday purchases.
