Earn 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 90 days - that's enough to redeem for a $500 travel statement credit Earn 2X miles on all purchases.
Earn 2 miles per dollar on all your purchases. For every dollar you spend on purchases with your card, you will get 2 miles. This is one of the highest rates of miles earned for spending on all purchases that we've seen on a US credit card.
Earn 50,000 bonus miles. You will receive 50,000 miles after spending $3,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening. These 50,000 bonus miles equal $500 when you redeem them for a travel statement credit!
Enjoy 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 12 months. This applies to the balances you transfer within 45 days of account opening. After this intro APR period you'll have a 16.24%, 20.24% or 23.24% variable APR on balance transfers depending on your credit worthiness.
Earn unlimited miles. Each time you make a purchase with your card, you earn miles, and there is no cap to the amount of miles you can earn with your card.
Earn 5% of your miles back when you redeem. This means that if you redeem, say, 50,000 miles for any travel purchases (including airfare, hotels, car rentals, cruises, etc), you will receive 2,500 miles back 1 business day after your redemption has been processed.
Miles can be redeemed toward statement credit, gift cards and merchandise. When redeeming miles for statement credit, they can be used to pay all or a portion of airfare, hotels, car rentals, cruises and more travel purchases made within the last 120 days. That makes it easy for you to catch last-minute travel deals or make unusual travel bookings using this card and then simply reimburse your travel purchases by redeeming your miles for a statement credit towards the cost.
Access your FICO® score online for free. Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® cardmembers can view their FICO score 24/7 from their online account. This is a great benefit, as you can track and improve your credit score online, anytime.
No foreign transaction fees. This is ideal if you travel overseas often and make purchases in foreign currencies. A money saving benefit since many other credit cards charge a 3-5% foreign transaction fee when you use your card to pay in non-US currency.
Outstanding travel insurance. If you are in the habit of paying extra for travel insurance, or missing out on insurance coverage because you don't like the extra cost, this card could be the solution. When you use this card to pay for travel, you enjoy complimentary travel accident insurance, trip cancellation insurance, baggage delay insurance and auto rental collision damage waiver coverage.
World Elite MasterCard® perks. This card is a World Elite MasterCard®, which is the most exclusive kind of MasterCard in the US. You get access to the MasterCard World Elite Concierge, which can help you save time by taking care of everything from finding a store selling a difficult to find item to choosing the perfect gift. Other World Elite perks include your very own personal travel advisor, available to help you set and reserve every detail of your next trip without any planning fees. You also enjoy special hotel perks including complimentary breakfast for 2 and early check-in/late check-out (if available) at many luxury hotels.
After the first year, you'll have to pay an annual fee of $89. Is the annual fee of $89 worth it? If all you want is miles, then you should consider carefully how much you will spend on purchases with this card, and how many miles you will earn on the spending. Remember you earn 2 miles for each $1 of purchases, and miles can be redeemed towards travel at the rate of 100 miles = $1 of travel purchases (you do earn 5% back on miles you redeem). So you will have to charge around $4450 per year to this card to earn the 8,900 miles you need to make up for the $89 annual fee you get after your first year. Since this card lets you earn good miles on all you purchases, you can easily use this card to spend at least that amount every year, and any spending above that is pure "profit". Plus, you would get 445 miles (5%) back when you redeem those 8,900 miles towards a travel purchase. Even if you only earn enough miles to make up for the cost of the annual fee, you would still have a World Elite MasterCard® with solid travel benefits to show for it.
Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card also lets you earn miles which you can redeem towards any travel purchases you make. You get a one-time bonus of 40,000 miles (worth $400 in travel) after spending $3,000 on purchases within 3 months of approval. That bonus is a little lower then the bonus offer you get with Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®. You earn 2 miles per $1 (unlimited) on every purchase you make every day. So the miles are much like what you earn with Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® but Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card does not let you get 5% of miles you redeem for travel statement credits back. However, this card has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year; $59 after that, which is lower than the $89 you pay for Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® after the $0 intro annual fee for the first year. This card has no foreign transaction fee. The main points where Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® outshines this card are the more comprehensive travel insurance (trip cancellation insurance) and a low introductory APR period for balance transfers.
Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® is the card to get if you want World Elite MasterCard® benefits, high miles on all purchases and 5% of your miles back to use toward your next redemption, every time you redeem.
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® with $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $89, will suit you best if you plan to spend more than $4,500 a year on this card. Earning 2 miles per dollar on all purchases will let you earn miles at a really fast pace, even if you don't travel often. As a signing incentive, you can get 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days, worth $500 toward travel statement credit. When you redeem miles towards travel purchases, you earn 5% back on the miles you redeem, a benefit that puts this card a step ahead of similar cards. You also get to enjoy 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 12 months (for balance transfers made within 45 days of account opening) and 16.24%, 20.24% or 23.24% variable APR thereafter.
But the real benefits of this somewhat exclusive card are the travel privileges it gives you. Just the complimentary travel insurance you get with this card can save you a lot of money if you travel fairly often, and the concierge service and personal travel advisor can save you loads of time. While you can get more exclusive benefits with cards like Citi Prestige® Card ,a partner card, which has a $450 annual fee, all things considered, this Barclaycard offer gives you very good value for money.
