The Barclays Rewards Card is a rewards credit card issued by Barclays Bank for US residents who have fair credit. This MasterCard card has a great rewards program as well as no annual fee. With this card, you will earn 2 points for each dollar you spend on grocery, gas and utility purchases, and 1 point for every dollar you spend on other purchases.
Things We Like About This Card
No annual fee. This is a great benefit, considering you can earn up to 2 points per dollar on certain purchases!
Points can be redeemed for a wide variety of things. You can use your points to redeem for gift cards, merchandise, cash back statement credit or statement credit for purchases made within the last 90 days. And when redeeming them for flights, you won't have to worry about blackout dates of any kind.
No limit to the amount of points you can earn. This allows you to save points and then use them to pay for some big purchase or a trip, such as a family vacation.
Active card members will also benefit from free access to their FICO® Credit Score which you can check online through your Barclaycard account. Reports will also be sent to each of the three major credit bureaus each month to help you rebuild your credit score.
No over-the-limit fee. If you go over your spending limit, you won’t have to pay any over-the-limit fee.
Our Least Favorite Things About This Card
No 0% introductory APR on purchases or balance transfers. Unlike many other rewards cards out there, this card doesn't have any 0% intro APR offer for new card members.
High APR on purchases and balance transfers. If you carry a balance on this card, a variable APR of 24.99% will apply. Because this card is designed for people with average credit, the APR is relatively high compared to a card that's meant for people with excellent credit. I recommend that you pay off your balance each month so as not to incur any interest fees!
The Barclaycard Rewards MasterCard is an excellent choice of card for those of you who have average credit and want a card that rewards you on all your spending. The thing I like most about this card is that you get to earn 2 points per dollar spent on groceries, gas and utilities, and 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.
Another advantage of this card is that points don’t expire and there’s no redemption fee, no matter what you choose to redeem your points for. You may redeem your points as statement credit, which can be used to deduct from any purchase made with this card. Just make sure not to carry a balance on your card so that you don't have to pay the high interest charges, and you will reap the most out of this great rewards card!
