Delta SkyBonus members are being treated to a special bonus earning period between now and September 30, 2017. The carrier's promotion entitles registered SkyBonus participants to earn double the points on qualifying routes. The promotion is intended to celebrate and market the carrier's new daily, nonstop service from Atlanta (ATL) to Seoul (ICN).

The promotion is fairly generous, allowing participants to earn two times their usual SkyBonus points, along with an additional 20,000 bonus points. However, passengers should keep in mind the promotion only applies to Delta-marketed flights between Atlanta and Seoul. Flights can include additional segments, but must have one nonstop segment between ATL and ICN. To earn the extra 20,000 bonus points, the account holder or one of their employees are required to fly one round-trip in Delta One between the two locations.

Registration can be completed on Delta's website by logging into one's SkyBonus account. The promotion is listed there along with other My SkyBonus promotions. Registration must be completed before purchasing the ticket; otherwise, the trip will not count towards the promotion. Qualifying members have until September 30, 2017 to book and complete a journey to earn their bonus points, which can then be spent on a number of rewards.

The promotion is specifically designed for business travelers who fly frequently with the carrier, and therefore operates separately from their consumer-geared Delta SkyMiles program.

All in all, Delta's new promotion is a good fit for businesses, offering roughly one to ten points for every dollar spent on employee travel. Sign-up is straightforward, and it's positive to see Delta offer a program specially tailored for businesses to earn perks for frequent flying.
