I am a personal trainer and this is what I recommend to all my clients. I have been taking these for about a year and a half and they work fantastic, you take take them with or without food, they are large so I break them in half. They are also all natural. No vitamin has 100% of your needs so still eat a healthy diet, but for whatever reason if you fall short these should help you out. It is hard to tell how well they are working but you can expect a boost in energy and a general feeling of wellbeing.
modern science has revealed that vitamins are not necessary, especially as an alternative to to the real food. you can take them as a supplement and it may help promote general health, even if nothing more than a placebo effect.
but the real benefit from getting vitamins in your body is the food itself that contains the vitamins. It has so many other necessities and goodies for your body, and just the straight vitamin is certainly not a replacement.
If you have a well balanced diet, you will get all the vitamins you need.
i can't say it's a bad supplement to your already healthy diet, though. there is no proof that it's bad to take vitamins, so go for it... just don't be tricked into buying something really expensive. it's unnecessary and won't do any difference.
I take a women's multi-vitamin. I would say if you have ANY history of osteoperosis in your family go ahead and take a calcium supplement also (I also take that). I have to say I am big believer in vitamins. Whenever I feel myself getting sick I load up on vitamin C and I can often stave off a cold that way.
