This is what I am imagining for you.
Cheap and effective. I have one in my living room with a sweet poster I got at a local art fair. It stays put unless I accidentally bump it, then sometimes the poster actually falls out! But most of the time I don't have a problem with it.

Definitely go this route. It will protect your poster and over all just looks a lot better than slapping a poster right on the wall. Might as well get something that won't destroy the poster or the wall.

Huge fan of posters in frames. They look clean and slightly more grown up that taping a poster to your wall like we did when we were kids (not to say that it's makes you any less of a man to do so). I have gone to a few wine tastings with my wife and sometimes they have really cool posters there so we get them framed and put them up in our kitchen. It looks pretty cool and is almost like real art!

If you really love the poster I would say also consider getting it mounted. You can go wood mounting or foam core mounting, foam core being the cheapest way to go. Looks great on the wall, though.

for sure! if you really like it you gotta get it framed right. not just to protect it, but because it just makes it look so much nicer, and adds a lot to the room.

I think this looks like a swell idea, although it didn't get great Amazon ratings. It's like a scroll on your wall. I guess I can see how it would be a little finicky, but I do like the idea. It's not as labor intensive as mounting it in a frame (well, 'labor intensive' might be a slight hyperbole...) but it's better than just sticking it to the wall.

Well if you want to adhere directly to the wall you should use these. However, I think the poster frame is a better idea because it protects the poster while keeping it flat and also won't stick to your wall.
