Pretty long list but each game is great.

I've spent over 2000 dollars on my XBOX. :)

I'd like to reinforce that the Orange Box is a fantastic buy. For around $20, you get Portal, Halflife 2 (with all the DLC), and TF2. That's a hell of a lot of game for $20.

If you're unsure of which genre you're really into, Arkham City would be a good purchase.
If you are into RPGs and fantasy-adventure, Skyrim is great.
If you like shooters, Modern Warfare 3 is generally well liked and is very accessible and easy to get into and enjoy

I can't recommend any game to you, except Half Life 2, which is one of the games in 'The Orange Box', Honestly I bet you could get it for under $ 10 at gamestop and it has 3 fantastic games in it.

Half Life 2 is a couple years old and that is still my favorite game of all time, I was just playing it again today.

Well, for a shooter I would suggest Gears of War, Call of Duty, Battlefield.

For an RPG I would suggest Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion, Fable 2 or 3.

Fighters I would suggest Soul calibur 4 or Soul calibur 5.

There was a few fun games.. :) enjoy.
