I think the Shure system that Destinee recommended is an excellent system. You will definitely be happy with it, and like she said it will be durable.
This Audio-Technica system is what the lead singer in my band used for the couple years I played with him... I talked to him about them and I know he thought they were awesome. We played pretty complex jazz/pop stuff and it was nice for him to really be able to hear himself over it all. He also mentioned that it's awesome to have your own personalized mix.... you can control all the levels in your mix and also separate lines between right and left to make it perfect for you.

A couple general things I noticed when he started using this set up, things to watch out for:
first of all, he immediately started turning himself way up in the house mix... probably because he just couldn't hear what was going on around him as well, and became less sensitive to the actual sound on stage (like he got in his own little world). Also.... and this is no fault of the unit.... we would always start playing waaaaay later than we were supposed to because he always underestimated he time it took to get comfortably set up with the in ears....also he would forget to change the batteries and stuff, adding to the delay.
Basically just be smart about it and don't let them change the way you play!

I also agree with the Audio Technica recommendation. Nice control and sound quality and comes with good ear buds as well.

The P2T TransMixer is breakthrough design for personal monitoring. It allows the user to connect two line-level or miclevel inputs directly into the transmitter. The two signals can then be mixed independently. You can connect microphones or instr... read more...

I always suggest Shure products for on stage mics because they will always get the job done right. They have a wonderful way of making high quality sound equipment that can also take the beating of being on stage.
I have used this set up before, although I don't own the thing (I wish I could afford it because I would definitely buy one)
Easy to set up...basically it's just like a normal monitor setup, except with the transmitter hooked up instead.
These are a great choice for a lot of people, but of course they do present some obstacles that you need to be ready to get around (you've probably already thought about this, but if not...) For example, two in-ear monitors will give you excellent sound for everything that is being mic'ed (and is in your mix), but will block out a lot of ambient/stage sounds that you kind of need to hear. To get around this a lot of people only wear one monitor, but then you will hear less of yourself. Another way to get around this is to set up an additional stage mic to pick up everything, and keep both monitors in.
Either way, I do want to suggest having an external monitor set up (like a normal stage monitor) also, so in case there is a problem with the in-ears you can rip them out and start using the other monitors. I've been in a situation where the in-ears went out, and we didn't have a back up plan, and it was like, "oh well! nothing we can do about it!" which is a terrible place to be!
