The poor man's Suunto wrist top computer. I love mine and I spent two weeks researching before buying it. This watch even gives you barometric warning when a storm is brewing, plus altimeter, thermometer and chrono. Looks pretty damn cool as well. On the plus side you can change your own battery, something you can't do with most of the high end altimeter watches.
HAH this is the one I was going to suggest to you as well! this is a great watch! I like that it tells you your elevation which I find amazing how much a watch can know. There are better watches such as the pathfinder watches that run at about $230 but this is the runner up to those!
Stainless steel case with a black rubber strap. Bi-directional bezel. Black dial with luminous hands and index hour markers. Luminiscent hands and hour markers. Date display at the 6 o'clock position. Quartz movement. Scratch resistant mineral cry...

When I was looking for a good survival watch, others I tried before I found this one were not calibrated right and were off when it came to the barometer, altimeter and even the temp. They were also crazy expensive! So far I have no complaints about this one. Its been dead on when I went hiking and even let me know if I had a fever coming on, kinda weird but accurate on all sensors. Highly recommended . 1 year warranty just in case you aren't pleased, but I doubt you won't be pleased.

Casio continues to amaze me with its innovation and creation. This is my favorite sports watch. I use it hunting, hiking, and camping. It has a great large LCD screen with navigational and atmospheric data. It's solar powered, has a compass, altimeter, thermometer, and many timers. It's been the most useful watch I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I would recommend it to any outdoor enthusiast.
This watch is classic, you can not go wrong with it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it is amazing quality and can double as an everyday watch. I recently bought a new strap for this watch because I have owned it for so long, looks even better now.

I got this for my man and it is so user friendly. Theres a lot that comes with these types of watches and for someone that doesn't like to read all instructions, this was easy for him to figure out fairly quickly. He now like to volunteer the temp, time, etc.. to everyone, he feels special. lol
