Almonds are the best man!! I take a ziplock full of these to work everyday and it really helps keep my blood sugar up and staves off not only my hunger but my grouchiness.
Almonds contain vitamin E and calcium, as well as phytochemicals - all good things that make it a 'superfood' type thing.
PLUS they taste really really good! I can't get enough and I suggest you do the same.
This is an awesome trail mix! Lot's of nuts really give me the sustenance I need when I don't have time for a full meal. I don't know what I would do without snacks like this to help me through the day!

Homemade trail mix type of stuff is usually the best for a on-the-go healthy snack.
If you have the funds/time dehydrating your own fruit and veggies to cut down on the added sugar is in a lot of store-bought products.
Nuts have great nutritional value, Walnuts and Almonds are the two best as far as nutrition goes, but Pistachios, Almonds, and Brazil nuts taste better and pack great nutrition as well!
Try to throw some whole grains, Kashi's "Go Lean" has great fiber and crunch to add to the mix!
I'm just going to suggest taking some foods that are healthy and that can be put in a ziplock bag and kept not refrigerated for a few hours. Things like baby carrots, celery, and dried apricots are excellent. Almonds are definitely good. So is peanut butter... maybe dip some celery in your peanut butter.
Berries of all kinds are excellent, too.
This sounds odd but costco sells these bags of mini sweet peppers that are delicious and packed full of vitamins. Great snack material. I also like bananas for work snacks. Hope this helps.
This recipe has some of the best ingredients for staving off hunger and providing energy. I'm a big fan. Hope it helps.
Super Yummy Trail Mix
1c. Chopped Macadamia Nuts
1/2c. Unsweetened Natural Coconut
1c. Organic Apple Chips Bake-Dried (Bare Fruit Cinnamon Apple Chips brand from Costco)
1/4c. Natural Raisins (make sure there is no sugar added)
Mix and have a handful for a snack, make sure you get a protein source with this!
A good protein source might be jerky or something along those lines. I personally prefer jerky because I like the combination of salty and sweet.
wow this sounds excellent! i was going to suggest trail mix, too. make sure it has a bunch of different food groups in there, like nuts, oats, dried raisins, apricots, whatever. As long as some different things are in there that provide you with energy and sustenance.
It is, it's very good. I mix it up from time to time but this is my basic recipe. Sometimes I'll make up a big batch and freeze it for use at later times.
