I agree that a mouth guard is your best bet, but I have went through a ton of the do it yourself mouth guards. It is going to cost you, but I think that it is worth it to get a mouth guard professional fitted by your dentist. For a long time I thought it would be crazy to spend the extra money, but I was shocked at the difference. I was quickly asking myself why did I not do this sooner?
I think the best thing to do will be to see your dentist. You don't necessarily have to get a fitted mouthguard, but they might be able to tell you what is causing you to grinding your teeth. It might not be stress related. It could be anatomical.

I have been grinding my teeth on and off for years. I personally just use a simple mouth guard. They are fairly inexpensive and you can mold them to your teeth at home. It takes a little while to get use to sleeping with it, but once you do your jaw pain will go away. I found that I started getting a better night sleep once I became comfortable sleeping with a mouth guard. It seems like a pain, but it is worth it for the health of your teeth.
