One of my favorite crime/mystery series is the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell. I always get so wrapped up in her stories that it doesn't take me long to finish them and then I'm craving another. This particular novel I believe is her first in the series but I think you could probably start anywhere and be sufficiently satisfied, however, I guarantee you'll want more and search the first out just to start it from the beginning. Great books!

I haven't read these personally but my mom is in love with Inspector Rebus! She absolutely loves these books and has read a handful of them. She's always saying, "I wonder what Rebus is up to right now" as if he's a real person.
They take place in Great Britain, which she also loves because she lived there for a couple of years so she knows the cities that it takes place in.
I would recommend it based on how highly she speaks of these books!

I love this genre... and Michael Connelly is somewhat a master of it! This is a great novel about an attorney who, as he prepares for his case, finds himself getting caught up in it and being hunted himself.....
Lots of twists and turns as the book takes one interesting path after another.
Highly recommended.

You should read "The Artful Egg" by James McClure. You will immediately fall in love with the characters and you will be hooked! I read about it as #1 on a list of best Mystery Novels somewhere on the internet, although I forget where.
It's a great read and a fantastic story!
