Now don't make fun of me, but the first movie I every watch with surround sound was Top Gun. For some reason I have always remember it. I do really like this movie it is a classic. It is always fun to break it out after you haven't seen it for a while. It creates a very good experience in multiple scenes. It is worth giving it a shot.

Star Wars...truly the best in stereo surround. It has all you need for the perfect viewing experience, action, speed, and great sound effects. I love this movie!

This movie has made the most money in the box office, opening weekend then any other movie ever. That being said, a lot of movies that were great in theaters don't really have the same appeal when they hit Blu-Ray or DVD, the sounds and the quality of the actual film is lost in translation making it kinda sucky. Avatar was one movie that made the transition seamlessly. Watching on a home theater system gives you the same dramatic feel as in theaters.

I think my 2 favorites would be The Matrix and Lord of the Rings. The Matrix of course has mechanical sound, gun fire, computer bleeps, etc. It has a whole array of things happening that make it stimulating to the ears in surround. Lord of the Rings on the other hand is both visually and rhythmically astounding. I love the whole series.

This one is another great movie I've watched at home. It's got a lot of action and intense side camera shots. that really make your bass and component speakers a workout! Plus if you haven't seen the newer James Bond it's a good movie to watch.
