You can't really go wrong with a traditional/ classic black blazer. You can dress it up or down, and Dockers offers a classic one at a great price.

Gray is a great color for that sort of thing. You can wear this with a pair of jeans or a nice pair of slacks, equally effectively. Gray just looks very classy and is so versatile. Great with just about any shirt color, too. You can go for bold greens or lues or yellows, or back it off a bit with some white or black. Gray goes with everything... even other grays, if you pick the right one!
