I think electric leaf blowers are superior to gas powered ones because they are lighter, quieter and easier to use. I also have to say I think cordless blowers are inferior to corded ones because they don't run for long enough to clear my whole yard (I clear my lawn, too, not just walkways).
As far as having a cord attached, it's a little annoying sometimes, but it's better than waiting around for my leaf blower to recharge! I guess it does depend on what your use will be. For me, the cord is a welcome alternative to the weight and noise of a gas powered blower.
This is the one I own, and I like it pretty well. If you are considering a Toro brand, make sure you get this one as compared to the cheaper one because this model has a metal impeller, as opposed to the plastic on the other model.
BTW...great for mulching leaves, too!
This is similar to what we purchased some years ago. It's very lightweight and easy to use, even for me. The charger is wall mounted so it keeps the garage clean and clear of clutter and it charges quickly. I wouldn't recommend this blower for a really large clearing space such as multiple acres or the like. It doesn't have a large amount of battery charge, for example, I think I can get about 20 minutes of blowing time which is much more than I personally need. My parents borrowed it, they have 2-3 acres and said they had to keep taking breaks to charge it and then go at it again. It blows very well and efficiently and really does a great job. I wish my neighborhood wood invest. I'm the cleanest house on the block!

I would also recommend a cordless, unless of course you have some serious, heavy duty leaf clearing to do. This is the one my parents have and they use it for clearing the walkway and back deck, and that's about it. It's great for small jobs, like under 15 minutes I would say.
I used to help out my neighbors with their leaves, and they had a corded leaf blower. It certainly had more power and moved a lot more air than a cordless, but it was really annoying having to find new outlets all the time...probably doubled the time it took to do the job. That's why I like cordless.
