Oh man I just got hooked on the Stone Barrington novels when I read 'Worst Fears Realized' and heard this one was even better (I know I am reading them out of order) and it is better! I love it.
These Stone Barrington novels are fun and easy to read. Sex, crime, detectives... what else could I ask for? Perfect way to pass the time on the train on the way to work.
'New York Dead' has the same fun writing style and same Barrington style detective work, only this book is better written and far more exciting than 'Worst Fears Realized.'
I will return to Stone Barrington novels in the future. They are fun and entertaining as heck!

Risque and over the top, perfect for this genre. This book is easy to read, very fun and entertaining, and is also well written.... not just garbage.
It should be a crime to have this much fun reading a book!

Carsen Taite writes some very exciting romance crime novels. She herself is a practicing criminal defense attorney, so she really knows what she's talking about in the courtroom. I have actually learned a thing or two about law from reading her books!
She is very knowledgable and can write one hell of a romance novel. Really fun stuff..... not to mention a wicked twist.... have fun!
As cheesy romantic crime novels go I think you will find this to be a good one. It' not the most magnificent of books but the author tells her story effectively and very well. The story is of two people who despise each other working together and growing closer over time. One of the two has a secret past that is threatening to come to light. Sometimes the story feels like there is a lot of information all shoved into a small space but other times it flows. Overall it was good and I wanted to finish it. Not too bad.

I have to admit this was a surprisingly fun book to read (for free on my kindle!). I thought it was going to be REALLY dumb because of the silly cover but it's actually quite enjoyable and well written... although at times it was quite predictable.
Just a fun, casual read. Nothing serious here!
