My last bottle was a bit, umm.... vinegar-ish (the kind from Costco). Is there a better tasting brand I should know about? I want to bring some to a holiday party. thx

Try Georges Duboeuf. Should run you about ten bucks.

I'm also a fan of the Costco brand. I have had the good bottles and bad but the good so far have outweighed the bad. It's inexpensive enough that I don't mind going back for more or buying a few in case the bottle I have tastes off. Costco is also not above taking it back if you do in fact feel that it's wrong.

I would suggest Louis Jadot... that's the one I usually buy and I like it a lot!

Bougelet Nouveau is going to be like that all the way around (I believe) because it's only aged for 6 weeks. I don't know if there is a more mild tasting brand out there!
