This is the perfect beginner practice amp. It has a headphone jack so you can practice silently. It has clean and distortion channels, as well as bass and treble control.
It's small enough to be easily portable, but still packs a little punch, certainly enough sound for some at home jamming.
A really good company! You can count on them to make you a good amp.

I would equate beginner with inexpensive, because you probably don't want to drop a bunch of cash on a new hobby that won't pan out.
So I think the best amp would be one that is inexpensive and still puts out a good sound. That's why I recommend this line 6 spider! I think it's the probably the best sounding amp you will find for around a hundred dollars.
Obviously if you start performing and stuff you will need to spend more to get a higher quality amp eventually. But this thing will enable you to practice at home and learn some new tunes without breaking the bank.

A big clean sound. That's what you get with this amplifier. Need I say more?
I am so pleased with mine. It's certainly not a gigging guitar, as it just doesn't have the power I would need. But pure sound? Yes.

I would have to vote Fender on this one. Fender always makes reliable stuf. This is a great practice amp that they offer. Controls for volume, delay/reverb, bass, treble, gain, and more. You will get a good clean sound on this amp... I know I can at least!
Nothing fancy of course, but you don't need anything fancy, right? Just getting started? This is perfect for you.

Really great for practicing/ apt living. You can also plug in headphones so as not to bother neighbors. Will obviously need something bigger/ more substantial for gigging, but for practicing you can't beat the price and quality.

Fender is a great quality amp with serious sound. This particular one is great for a beginner but certainly not only for a beginner. It is powerful but easy to take with you anywhere you go and it's made by a quality company you can count on. Great amp.
