Have you tried Proactive?
My girlfriend has very mild, occasional acne, so she thought she would try this and see what all the fuss was about.
In both of our opinions, her face cleared up dramatically and was over-all softer and clearer.
It worked for her, so I think it's worth a shot for you.
I don't have chronic Acne, but I do have breakouts every now and then and Proactive has always worked for me. It burns a little bit, but not any worse than other strong face washes. It is tough when it comes to things like Acne treatments because what works for one person doesn't work at all for the next. I guess all you can do is give it a try. I hope it works for you.
This stuff does work really well. I find that I can use it for a few months and then need to use something else for a time other wise it dries me out. It works quickly and efficiently, though and what could be easier than 3 products. I can't stand some of the other systems out there that require you to use 5-6 for each thing that might ail you. It also doesn't have an unpleasant odor...different but not unpleasant. I love their body soap/scrub too. Sometimes I get back breakouts (gross) and it helps tremendously!
The outside layer of your skin is covered in oil, and being oil soluble, the Salicylic acid is able to penetrate this outer layer.
Salicylic/20 peel breaks down the protein bonds between the layers of skin, which is why a much quicker peel can be ...

You could try something like this, I have found that face peels help me a lot, although I have never tried this one in particular.
Another thing I would recommend is going to an Aveda salon or a similarly high quality salon and getting a facial treatment there. They have specialized skin people that can do extractions for you and will give you an amazing facial cleanse... your skin will feel better than it ever has before, I guarantee it! I recommend Aveda because they use all natural ingredients, which I prefer because they are gentle but work as well as chemical or processed products.

You may have not heard this trick! :) But I starting taking this new medicine, one of the side effects is pimples, and sure enough I got them! I asked my doctor what to do, and she suggested getting Neosporin. So I started researching - It will help them heal faster, and will help with scars. It is a very strong antibacterial, and so there are a few warnings such as you should not cover your face with it, so only use it for spot treatments, and occasionally take a day or two break. They say to take breaks just incase you have a few bacteria strains that become resistant. But this is a miracle treatment, and works the same if not better then the spot on treatments, except it is half the price! good luck!

Have you heard of Exposed Skincare? They are now among the top rated acne treatments. Their treatments contain ingredients that are apparently better than the prescription grade BPO with clindamycin.
Exposed Skincare uses salicylic acid to unclog your pores and benzoyl peroxide to kills acne bacteria, among other ingredients to keep your skin soft and healthy. It is gentle yet effective, and surprisingly well priced.
I think it's better than pro-active, personally. You should check it out! They also offer some sort of guarantee, so they totally believe in their own product. So do I!
