I suggest a train to go beneath your tree... it is rare that people do that any more. My family still does, and it is really entertaining especially when you walk through the front door and you see this little train wizzing around going "choo choo"
I think trains around a Christmas tree are awesome. They are completely nostalgic and for some reason at our house, just make the season feel warmer. I had one as a kid and when we started having kids I had to get one for us as well. What a treat.
A train is totally the coolest because it is interactive. You can play with it and watch it and build it and stuff.

I bet you could also find them at Pier 1 or similar places.
I have something similar to this in my apartment and it's really fun/funny. These are HUGE stockings! They just look so ridiculous you can't help but laugh when you see them!
