I keep seeing this MSI on this website and now I am intrigued.... from the specs it looks very impressive, but honestly I haven't used one yet, so I can't actually vouch.
But check it out (all for under $1500):
Intel Core i7
12GB DDR3
1TB (500GB x 2)
15.6" full HD Display (16:9; 1920 x 1080)
NVIDIA Geforce GTX560M 1.5G GDDR5 graphics

Supercharged

I would think the Qosmio that Weste suggested would be a good option or this Asus. The Asus offers an Intel Core i7, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hybrid HDD/SSD, Blue-Ray drive, 17 inch full HD screen, and a Nvidia GTX 460M Graphics card. It packs a lot of power for just a little over $1,000.
