Need help with new SSD.

I just bought a new Samsung SSD and have installed it. I want to put a new windows 7 install on it and completely wipe my old terabyte hdd to make room for a home server. I am having a problem though. My computer still thinks the old hdd is the system drive and whenever I try and boot from the SSD I get an error reading, "Invalid Boot Disk, please insert disk and try again." Can anyone help me please? I'm trying to make the SSD the new system drive.

It is also possible that the drive letter for the boot disk (default C) is incorrect for your new drive. That happened to me once and had to be fixed manually. For some reason Windows sometimes mixes up the old and new drive letters which causes the problem. Do a google forum search for help regarding this issue.

is the ssd properly formatted? you should be able to reformat it from the install screen. if you cant get to the win7 install, that means the comp is trying to go to your hdd first. what you need to do is change the boot order (in the BIOS when the computer first starts up) to set CD (for the win7 disc) to install on the new ssd.

Have you checked the samsung website for troubleshooting tips? I'm sure you aren't the first one to have this problem.
