I am debating buying a new camera looking for opinions :D under $1000?

I currently have a pentax k-x with quite a few lenses i've purchased. I have had the camera for quite some time and I had purchased it back when i was a beginning photographer still skeptical about continuing. I have been doing photography for about 5 years now and definitely want to continue. I'm looking to upgrade from my entry level camera. Any suggestions? Or should i continue using my K-x.

If you have a bunch of Pentax lenses and are willing to spend some money, I would recommend upgrading to the K-7. That way you can still use all of your lenses, and you will be already familiar with the Pentax system.
This is an excellent camera from Pentax, with shake reduction, HD video recording, 5.2 fps shooting, and the new PRIME II Image processing engine. The magnesium alloy body is weather resistant and tough... should last you a while.
Definitely either stay with your Kx or upgrade to something like this, but don't switch companies if you have all those lenses already.

Though I would suggest you stay with a Pentax, as you seem to have a stock of lenses.

Have you thought of getting a camera in which you could use your current lenses?
Otherwise, I'd go for an older body and save the rest of your budget for a good lens.

Nikon D5100. It is the best mid prosumer camera out there, IMO. Images are fantastic, with the same sensor as the higher end 7100. Someone finally got the buttons right to switch between live view and viewfinder. The video quality is great. The pivoting LCD is very handy. Costco has the package deal with a 300mm zoom-tele at a reasonable price, under $1000.
