i guess they would go alright together, but they do seem like quite similar foods to me. i would think something with a totally different texture would be a better compliment. like some toasted crustinis or something.
I don't see why Potatoes wouldn't go well with your pea soup. I like to do BLTs or some Focaccia bread. I don't see how you could be disappointed with either.
My mom liked to make Pea soup and then she use boiled red skin potatoes and sausage to compliment it. This is one of my fall/winter time favorites. Don't forget the croutons too...
I agree I think red skins will be best...I like to quarter them, boil them, and then add butter and garlic salt. It probably wouldn't be the best meal to eat before a marathon, but I bet it would be great for a cold day. I hope it turns out good for you.
Oh my gosh, this sounds amazing. I haven't had Pea soup in so long and then to top that with red skin potatoes and sausage? Yummy. Do you have any recipes you might like to share?
I also believe that adding the potatoes to the soup enhances the texture of the soup makes the soup thicker and gives it a good flavor also adding ham or bacon works but the potato makes the soup thicker
