I have a turkish friend who is really into Tarkan. I don't know much about him myself but I hear he is like the American Idol of Turkey. I have attached a video of one of my friends favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG2_8nrRIjw
Even though I have to have my friend translate I do enjoy the beat.

Åžebnem Ferah is the only Turkish singer I know of... my aunt turned me onto her a few years back. She's a singer/songwriter. Her music is actually pretty awesome...it's like hard rock, badass female Turk style stuff. Pretty intense.... I like it because it has that Turkish flare in the music... I probably wouldn't listen to her if she was American!
I have been trying to learn turkish. I found a good way to practice is too listen to turkish music during my commute to and from work. I don't know if she is the best turkish singer, but I like to listen to Bendeniz. The music is catchy and I like her voice. Again I use it as a practicing tool, but she is worth checking out.
