I listen to grooveshark all the time at work. It's awesome! Type in just about any song and add it to your play list and start listening. Or just listen to one song at a time. Or search by artist....whatever you gotta do. 100% free. Really cool.
yes! I love grooveshark.... listen to it all the time. it does load pretty slowly on my computer, though. pretty annoying. maybe it's just my computer - I don't know - but it's pretty slow. once it's up and running though it's awesome! just about any song I can think of is right there in seconds.
I guess it is not a website, but if you are looking to buy music than I don't think there is anything better than iTunes. They might not have every artist you want, but they are adding more and more content constantly. Again this isn't free, but it is one of your best options if you are looking for quality.
I prefer iTunes to other music systems...it's also the most compatible with all of my devices. I will also listen to Pandora. Pandora is great for particular genres but you can't pick and choose your mixes so iTunes is great because you can either download songs from your library or you can create a search for a genre or something that goes with your most popular listening type at the store and it will give you a variety of choices. I like choices!
I don't think you can beat pandora. They use some kind of forumla to find songs that are similar to a song you like or similar to your favorite artist. I guess it might not be the best option if you are looking to listen to a specific song, but if you are looking to discover new music or listen to a specific genre than you won't be disappointed. There are a few ads, but they're not overwhelming.
I like Pandora for finding new music that is similar to things I already listen to. It's cool that it kind of creates a play list for you, just let it do its thing!
Shufflemonster is a pretty neat site, which uses a users links to youtube from reddit, to create a queue, I currently have it set to IndieFolk, but there are several feeds to choose from. http://www.shufflemonster.com/?indiefolk
I am a pretty big fan of using Youtube for my music. I can often find artist that I can't find on other sites. It is not always the best quality, but it is still a good resource. It is great if you like to listen to covers or unreleased concert performances.
