best outdoor basketball hoop?

I've noticed that as my son gets older he wants to play real ball instead of the kiddy games we play in doors. Time for more grown up toys for the kiddo.

Here's another Spalding to consider, it's just cheaper than the other one I see here. It's also not as high quality. But it will be a pretty nice board for ya. Spalding makes good equipment. Raises from 7-10 feet. Obviously it can't take dunks like the other one, but it will be a nice field-goal-making hoop.

this or the Lifetime would be good...I mean that other Spalding looks great but man it's a little pricy!

Kind of expensive but one of the best you'll find on the market. Conveniently portable but stable and durable. The glass backboard is tempered so no worries about shattering it, heavy duty rim, and has an adjustable height that ranges from 7 1/2 feet to 10. The system is not hard to put it together. I was able to do it myself in a matter of hours. The only difficulty is that once you have added the water to the base unit it get rather heavy. It has a 40 gallon capacity so that can be a lot of weight.

I'm not sure if you're looking for something that you can mount on your garage or something more portable. I grew up with the one mounted to my garage and thought it worked great but it was a pain removing it when it came time to move so I thought a more portable option might be better should I ever do it again. They're great because they are totally adjustable so while it may not be short enough for many toddlers, young boys and girls will be able to get some enjoyment out of it and it can grow with them. It's a great choice.
