best 35 to 39 inch TV for watching movies under $700?

I know this is technically an inch over but it's a great tv at a great price. I purchased it for my dorm room for watching tv, movies, and playing games off my Alienware and it's perfect! Great picture quality. I'm very pleased overall.

I've been looking into this TV myself. I need one around this size for my bedroom and I was really impressed with the shadow detail and the black levels. I've noticed on my TV in my living room that blacks are more gray so it was nice to see something so sharp. I also loved the matte screen so that there would be less glare in a room with more lighting. Features to price, you won't find better.

Really fantastic picture. The picture automatically adjusts to best fit it's surroundings, and that's what's truly great. No fussing with brightness settings all the time. There's no bells and whistles with this TV ala wifi and built in apps, but if you need an entry level TV that really looks fantastic, it's a great option. It's also enormous. We added our own speaker system, and now we rarely go out to the movies.

For what your looking for I think this is the best idea, you get 1080p quality picture and a decent sized screen for well under your price range, but most importantly you get access to streaming movies and shows. Jen is on the right track this is a tough TV to beat for the price.

Watching movies is like my favorite thing to do and I understand wanting a nice TV on which to enjoy your favorite flics! Gotta have something with a big, bright, clear and vivid display. That's most important. You'll also want some decent sound. This Samsung will certainly deliver. It has full HD with 1080 resolution.
For movie watching options you can connect to your home network to stream movies, music and photos from your DLNA certified devices like your computer, network storage drive, or whatever. The sound should be great with SRS' TheaterSound technology, and you can also use it as a PC monitor, should the need arise.
So yeah it looks good to me! Happy movie watching!
