That Slate tablet pc is pretty sweet, but if you don't want to spend $1500 you can pick this sucker up for only $500. It's one of the best on the market and will not disappoint you.

The noise-cancelling function of these is amazing. I really liked the feeling that I was at a concert every time I used them.
I have an EVO 3D that I rooted. The battery life is much improved. It's a really great phone.
You could probably find someone that would want to trade a decent pc for your laptop. You could always upgrade the pc if it wasn't up to spec.

I did read about there being some issues with one series of Corsair SSD, but that's hardly "all SSD"
I have a crucial SSD and it works great and is very fast.

Acer doesn't make very great laptops.
It's not going to happen.
here's a decent one for close to a grand.
You really can't get one for that little. The bulbs alone cost several hundred dollars.
The gaming system in Skyrim is vastly improved compared to Morrowind. They are great games, so if you haven't you should play through the series. Even Daggerfall has a lot of playability even today.
A lot of Acer products are low quality, but their monitors are fine. This is a pretty great price for a 23" monitor.

Worst game of all time...
The combat is making the bad guys dance.

It all depends on if your laptop has a video card or a video chip. If you have a video chip and not an actual video card you are S.O.L.
EVGA makes some of the best videocards and this one is $160 after rebate on Newegg.com.
I would make sure you have a powerful enough PSU to run it as well. 750-1000w will run better with lower temperatures as well.

For some reason the iPhone 4s takes the best pictures. It's specs aren't any better than the average android phone, but it really takes fantastic photos and video.

This is a really great one. There are some in your price range on ebay.
23"
2ms refresh rate.

iPads are sweet and all, but unless you are an apple fanboy I would get the transformer prime. It's got great specs and you can even add a keyboard to make it into a laptop.
If you feel limited on games to play you could always do a windows 7 dual boot on your mac.
Darksiders was total crap compared to God of War. Dante's Inferno is something to check out if you like that genre of game.
Infinity blade 2 is highly addictive.
This link explains the differences. http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/
I don't find it validating enough to pay twice as much for the 4s. There will be an iPhone 5 coming soon enough, so if you don't have dire need to upgrade you can get the 4s at a lower price soon enough.
Revengeance is stil TBA, but looks incredible in the teaser trailers. Hideo Kojima says it's his last game. I'm still looking forwards to a Half-Life3 as well.
An iPad is fun to play around, but there are some setbacks. One example is that extended typing on an iPad can get tedious. The Asus Transformer Prime is a great tablet that also has a keyboard you can add, which pretty much makes it into a less expensive laptop. Check it out.
I keep hearing fantastic things about BF3, but not much about MW3 these days.
It gets better every time.

If you go to the website you cusomize the computer as you go through the checkout process. Anything you pick that totals under that price will work for you.

Any optical mouse will work well on any surface. I have the Logitech g700 that is a little more expensive, but totally worth it. It plugs in to charge it's rechargeable batteries when I'm at my desk and has extra customizable buttons that increase productivity. The new Microsoft ones with the blue track technology also work well on anything but clear glass or mirrors.
The people I know do it mostly because they are Just plain cheap.
I'm pretty sure it's their passive-agressive way to rebel from their straight-laced ways.
It's the only real sandbox game out there.
It's also has a high learning curve, so it's not overrun by obnoxious 13 year olds.
If you are on a budget this one has great performance for a reasonable price.
Certain ram will work better with different motherboards and CPU's. Certain motherboards have restrictions on what frequency ram they can take. You can do a quick google search to find what will work for you best. It is also better for you to have 2 sticks of 4GB ram over 4 sticks of 2GB ram.
It's going to cost you at least $100 for a replacement motherboard and another $100 minimum to get it installed. I would personally put that money towards a new laptop over repairing the one you currently have.
I upgraded from the original Evo 4g to the Evo 3d and I am thoroughly impressed. It's a really great phone. The only downside is that Sprint has one of the slower networks. I would suggest the Evo 3d over an iphone.
I don't know why the graphics for Fallout 3 and New Vegas were so unimpressive. The next one should at least be on par with Rage. I think an MMO style Fallout game would be a lot of fun.
I'm not going to buy Left4Dead3, so it's not going to bother me. There will be a lot of great games this year to play while I wait for HL3.
I would stick with the GTX 460's in SLI and forget about the GT430. It's only a power drain at this point and isn't going to add much for performance.
I used the asus wattage calculator: http://support.asus.com/powersupply.aspx
Without the GT 430 it said that you need 700watts minimum, so It wouldn't hurt to get a power supply of at least 850watts. Personally, I would sell the videocards and put that money towards a GTX 560 Ti w/448cores instead of a new power supply.
Skullcandy makes decent ear buds that are often on sale for less than $30.
The sound quality is much better than other options at that price level.
Isn't there a metal preset on the equalizer for your music player? A sound card would work, but if you have a decent motherboard it's not really necessary.
If the "superclocked" card costs more than the normal version then, no, it's not worth it. You can get the same results by overclocking it yourself. If you get a GTX 560 make sure it's the Ti with 448 cores.
How much money do you have burning a hole in your pocket is the real answer to if it's worth your while.
The big difference you will see in liquid cooling your pc is that it will be much more quiet and stay at a stable temperature much lower than with air cooling when you overclock. It can look cool and be afun little project. Even if you don't go all overboard like this guy:

It's a tough call. Like Greg said, you really need to test them out to see what you want. I have an android phone that I have rooted and this thing is all kinds of tricked out, but it's a bit glitchy. A bonus of having an android phone is you can customize the hell out of it. You don't have as many options with an iPhone, but it is a solid product that you can depend on. Your carrier can make a difference as well.
Here's an article comparing a good android phone with an iPhone 4S. It's worth checking out.

My brother got an iPad for his business and it has almost totally replaced his laptop. I could be a great investment. It's worth looking into. I any of your friends have one play around with it and see if it's something you can't live without.
Portal is $10 on steam. They also have both half-life games for the same price as well.
There are a number of things that could be causing poor performance on your phone. Like Zach said your processor is almost half the speed of your friend's iPhone, so it's going to be slower no matter what. Smart phones also need maintenance just like a computer. You should look up some maintenance methods to keep your phone running smoothly. Your carrier is going to make the difference in browsing speed. I have Sprint, so my 3/4g speeds suck ass. Who is your cell provider. Tmobile is ok, but AT&T and Verizon are tops in my area. I would suggest comparing an android phone with a 1.2GB dual core processor and at least 1GB of RAM to an iPhone to help you make a decision on what will work for you best in the future.
Make sure you get the one that rocks 3GB ram!!!
This one is backlight with a very high contrast and has a higher than average refresh rate.
I believe this is the best bang for your buck. It makes a decent gaming laptop as well.
The Alienware laptops in your price range are extremely dated and were produced probably 5 years ago. Do yourself a favor and get a Sony VAIO F series laptop.
Once you get past the learning curve this game is a blast. Probably the only true sandbox game in existence. You can get 14 days free trial on Steam.
This has a 12" display which is 3" bigger than an ipad. It does run windows, but it's your only option if you want to get larger than a 10" display. If you want an android tablet, then the Asus Transformer Prime is your best bet.
It really depends on your playing style. I hope this helps.
You may like Mount and Blade as well.
Just take a look at steam and you're sure to find something good.
You need to be more specific. Are you looking for a bluray/dvd surround sound system to go with your tv or something else. What are some features you are looking for?
Here is a great deal on a mac.
You will not get that much of a performance boost with upgrading to a 2600k. It's also much harder to swap a CPU than it is to install one. If you want to upgrade anything get some faster ram. It's also a lot cheaper. You could probably max out your mobo with really fast ram for $200.
You need at least 120hz to do 3d, so If that's important to you then it's a must. It's also going to make a difference if you are playing extremely high def games on it or watching blu ray movies. Also, if you don't have that great of eye vision don't bother.
I would personally stick with your GTX 550Ti until the last quarter of 2012 when the new cards come out and the prices drop. The downside is if the world ends then and you waited to buy a new videocard.
It's pretty limited right now. There is photoshop express which is free.
These are not only great for music, but also work amazingly well for movies and gaming. THX certified. You can also go all out with the 5.1 set as well.
Check out heytell. It's like a voice texting service. There is also whatsapp for texting when you have wifi, but no phone signal (i used this at work a lot)
You have about $2000 worth of parts right there. You should use them to build a new computer. Do you need help finding other parts?
It's $200 on amazon.
Here's a good one. With anything smaller you may as well be using your phone as a camera.
I like android. If you prefer apple you could go for an ipad with at least 32gb of memory. The tablet Lindsay picked is fantastic, but because it's a full on pc it's going to cost you almost twice as much as a tablet. You could get a laptop with better specs for that much money.
This is the best one out price wise. You can go for one of the hexacore cpu's but they are over $1000, which in my opinion is FAR too much.
I have these and they are awesome. They are less expensive on ebay.
It's not necessarily romantic, but you can sleep with pretty much everyone in your party in this game.
This one is highly recommended. Evga also makes GPU's that have a waterblock built into them if you want to simplify things in the future.
Did you get the newest video card drivers?
These days it's getting harder to find DVI-D. I would suggest going with HDMI in order to kill 2 birds with one stone by getting audio and video all in one cord.
I would suggest taking it to an Apple repair shop. If you live in a fairly large city there should be one near you. Just to warn you it will be expensive.
I got a seido case for my phone and i love it. They fit on nice and snug and are ultra durable.
It's not out yet, but it's something to look forward to.
This is a great one and is right in your price range.
Most important parts are the motherboard, GPU and CPU.
Since you have the CPU make sure you get one that is compatible with it.
If money is not an issue just go buck wild , but i wouldn't suggest spending more than $300 American on the GPU. I would suggest a 560ti with 448 cores at this time. Using 2 videocards is highly overrated. You would be better off with one that you spent a little more money on. Also, the motherboard shouldn't have a video chip on it as this could cause interference with your videocard.
Spend $110-$200 on the motherboard.
Ram is cheap. You should be able to get 2 sticks of 4gb 1600 ram (minimum) for less than $100.
Your power supply shouldn't be bigger than 750 watt.
A case and cooling are important as well. I haven't delved into liquid cooling, so I don't have advice on that. I would suggest an aftermarket cooler for the cpu if you are doing any overclocking.
The link above should help you out. Enjoy!
The new processors are not true quad core processors and just don't have the same balls as the Phenom II x4 true quad core processors as far as gaming is concerned.
Mac's only have the apple operating system, but can have windows 7 added fairly easily for what is called a dual boot.
It is fairly difficult to add the apple operating system to windows for a dual boot, but it is possible.
You really have to be familiar with both before you know which is more appropriate for you to use as they are fairly different.
This is a very nice monitor that would suit you well.
This baby is better than either of those 2. You can also get a keyboard for it, making it into a laptop.
This one costs about half what a macbook would and has pretty much the same specs. I have known several people who own sony laptops and they are very happy with them. Asus, toshiba, and samsung are also good brands to choose from.
The ASUS Crosshair V is $50 more and will be easier to overclock and has more bells and whistles, but this is a much more solid motherboard.
A laptop with the AMD A4 is not going to be a gaming laptop. You may play a few games on very low settings, but you will soon wish you had spent the money on a pc that could play all the games you like on mid-high settings.
They aren't really made to last very long. My evo 4g was insured when it crapped out and the insurance company replaced it with an evo 3d which has much better specs. I should have taken it to the store first though because i had to pay the insurance fee of $100. Take it to the sprint store and see if they can fix/replace it.
To my knowledge they don't make monitors with cable inputs. I would advise getting a tv tuner card for your pc and hooking the cable up to that.
I agree with Michael. It's not a big difference, so if money is an issue just go with the I5.
These lego games are crazy.
Really fun button masher
Ther are a ton of extras for this on steam. It's also fairly cheap to purchase.
It's also one of the games you get from doing this forum so you can possibly get it for free.
The Call of Cthulhu games were pretty creepy.
8mp camera. Everything about this tablet kicks ass.
Like Ryan said, that's a tough price range. If you feel like making a project out of it or have someone who knows what they are doing handy you could build one for cheaper than buying one whole.
If you want earbuds I reccomend these.
Build yourself a new desktop for even cheaper than buying one. I would post another question asking what is the best computer you can put together for $1000. There are probably a ton of people who can give you solid advice and get you started. It really is a lot of fun. Enjoy!
Have you gone to the Verizon store to see if they will replace your phone? Sometimes you get lucky and they hook you up. They can also help set the phone your brother is giving you.
Definitely. You may want to upgrade the ram in a year or two, but for the time being it sounds like a decent office computer.
Why would you not use eyefinity?
I use sleep as Android. I haven't noticed any difference between the trial and the paid version. Most rep apps have a free version you can try. I like the alarm settings that come with this one.
Go with what you are most familiar. It will look best on PC if you have a decent graphics card.
You can download a list of supported ram from the asus website. I would recommend 2x4gb of 1600 ram minimum as that is the minimum for windows 7 64-bit. Don't get the 1333 ram when 1600 is the same price. 2 sticks of ram is always better than 4 unless you are maxing out your motherboard.
It's really playable. Also, for PC it doesn't require you to have that great of a PC so almost everyone could play it and not be disappointed in the graphics. Being on all the top platforms helped as well.
Play it in the dark if you want to scare yourself a little. Honestly just get on steam and see what catches your eye.
ID just doesn't let you down with a good shooter.
Rage was pretty amazing. I'm looking forward to the next one ID comes out with.
By far the best RPG to date. Fallout if a close second.
Storyline. I can play a game that is visually stunning, but unless it captures me with a good story I may not finish it.
I own a logitech G700 wireless optical mouse that I really enjoy, but I have to suggest that you go to best buy or somewhere similar to try out a few before purchasing anything. The new Microsoft mice look like they would be great as well.
Dead space
Orange box
KOTOR
Majicka
Battlefront II
There are a ton. Just check the sales and you will find something that fits you.
I think this happens to everyone. You just have to do something else for a bit and you will find the urge to game in no time. I like to go outside for walks or read a good book. If you do something else for a few days it will help.
Definitely Skyrim. Oblivion is worth playing, but by far not as good as Skyrim.
Great shooter campaign. If you feel like it you can play the multiplayer as well, which is great by the way.
I wish i had a wii because this one looks like fun.
Final fantasy 3.
Infinity blade 1 and 2 are a lot of fun. They use the unreal engine so the graphics are stunning.
Give Eve online a try. You can try it for free. It's not necessary a WOW alternative, but as far as online games go it's pretty awesome. It is a complete sandbox game which means you can do anything you want. There is a high learning curve, but once you get the game it's very enjoyable.
Don't go 3rd party for controllers they are all garbage.
It has Metal Gear Solid 2 &3 and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker which is the best of them all.
Very few games are better on console than pc and this is one of them. You also get to use steam which is a huge plus in my book.
I played the demo and while it was interesting I'm not going to get it until the price goes way down. It's worth maybe $25 in my opinion. It was like Witcher meets fable but less dark kind of a game and neither of those games really did it for me.
Realm of the mad god is a really simple yet fun game that is completely free to play.
Get the 560 Ti with 448 cores. The 448 cores makes the difference. It is the exact same price as a 6950 on newegg.com ($279)
I got a koss headset that's great. I guess if you use money for toilet paper you can get turtle beach, but they are only priced so high because they are trendy with 13yo kids whose parents pay for them.
This will play any game out there at decent settings and fits your budget. Are you upgrading or building an entirely new pc? How big is your power supply because this is going to require 400w minimum.
Trine was a lot of fun.

Trine was a lot of fun.

Attack a giant so you can go flying when he clubs you.

Reddit News so I can browse reddit easier than on a browser. I also like using the nook app to read books on my phone as well.
This 6670 is a little more than the $70 for the 440 above, but it will run a bit better as well.
Here is a good power supply. Like James said that power supply is oversized. Other than that you look to be good to go. Enjoy your new pc.
Rage. It was a blast. get it? ha ha.
Rage. Revolutionary graphics and the enemy A.I. was phenomenal.

If you let us know what type of laptop you have and/or some of the specs we can help you. If you don't know just download hwinfo and it will show you the specs.
