What would you say is the best all-in-one printer for photos?
  Canon PIXMA MG5220
Pixma by Canon is going to be a good way to go. A solid choice in the printer world.
This is an wireless all-in-one, just like you asked for, but is aimed towards people who need a high quality photo print. Max 9600 x 2400 color dpi is going to yield excellent prints.

What headphones have the best bass?
  Sony MDR-XB300 Extra Bass Headphones
For straight up big bass sounds you should consider these. They actually have superior sound quality from top to bottom, but they are designed to supply extra bass tones. They have successfully found a way to create large amounts of bass without making an overall "muddy" sound. Sony is good though, so it doesn't surprise me.
They do feature a slight build, which some people describe as "flimsy." However, assuming you actually take care of the things you buy, that shouldn't be a problem!
Keep in mind that pretty much across the board with extra bass comes less highs and mids, so don't be disappointed when you notice that!

Can you suggest the best tablet for a college student under $350?
  Acer Iconia A200-10g16u
Maybe you should consider this. Iconia is a pretty nice tablet from Acer. Some people complain that there aren't enough features (like front and rear facing cameras) but in this price range you should be more concerned with performance than features. You can upgrade it to the newest android OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will be blazingly fast. For school stuff like browsing the net or taking notes this thing will be great (although I highly recommend getting yourself a case with a keyboard buil in, so you can take notes on a real keyboard as opposed to touchscreen, which can be tough to type on.) It's a solid 10" and has 16 gb memory. Also boasts an 8 hour battery life, for when you're away at class all day. Seems like a great choice for you Cassandra.

What's a good quality microphone for recording voice under $75?
Audio Technica AT2020 Side Address Cardiod Condensor Studio Mic
I have used this mic in the past for vocals and it's pretty great. I wasn't using the USB version, but it was basically the same mic by Audio Technica. You definitely want a condenser mic for recording vocals, as it will yield higher quality sound reproduction (as compared to a Dynamic mic) due to its greater frequency response. These USB mics are pretty cool because you don't need additional hardware to convert the analog signal to digital, as you would with a mic with an XLR output. Just plug it directly in and you're ready to go.

What is the best 70+ inch TV under $3000?
  Mitsubishi WD-73638
You might try this Mitsubishi... yes, they still make TVs!
This is a very inexpensive option for a screen this size, and the reason is it's not LCD or Plasma, But rather has a rear projection DLP screen. It still offers a lot of the same features as LCD and Plasma, like it is 1080p HD, has 120Hz sub-frame rate for a blur-free picture (even with sports/video games), and it's also 3D ready. The big difference with these rear-projection Tv's is basically you need a little movie room to really enjoy your viewing experience, or at least a room that you can easily block the light and make it dark....otherwise you may have a difficult time seeing the picture clearly. Also, these tend to have a narrower viewing angle, so keep that in mind if yo have a wide viewing room.
It definitely provides an excellent picture at a great price! You just gotta be willing to work with it a little bit.

Hey guys can anyone suggest a good electric piano under $350?
  M-Audio ProKeys Sono 61 | Sweetwater.com
I like Angela's M-Audio suggestion, although for just $10 over your price point you could get this one which has 61 keys, and for live music usually more keys is better. Keys are semi-weighted, and sound quality will be excellent, what with the stereo sampled Steinway grand and such.
This is everything you need for performing live or recording in your studio.

Any audiophile quality earbuds out there?
  Bose IE2
I think these would be some of the best you could find. Obviously Bose is an excellent brand for this sort of thing. Besides sounding fantastic, these should be very comfortable and even acceptable to use for working out/jogging, although I personally wouldn't, just because the price is kind of high! ( I like to use cheapies for workout music!)
They are supposedly incredibly light and you almost forget you are wearing them.
Definitely a good choice for audio quality.

What is the best music notation software?
Avid Software Sibelius 7 Academic (for schools and teachers)
I would definitely suggest Sibelius. It's one of the best (if not the best) around. Used for professional music writing and music schools across the nation, you can notate everything from classical orchestral scores to jazz lead sheets to pop, and everything in between. Very useful.
Alos, if you have some sort of midi device for input (some sort of piano keyboard) you can input notes VERY fast, making short work of even the most complex scores.

What tv has the best picture quality under $600?
  LG 42LV3500
This might be your best option in terms of picture quality. It's gonna come in slightly over your price point, but not too much, and I think it's worth the price. Is 42" a good size for your room? Seems good to me... no too big or too small.
So it's full HD, 1080p. The only downside here is refresh rate.... only 60Hz. This will only be an issue if you like watching sports a lot or fast paced video games. Anything moving too quickly might blur a little bit, but nothing too bad. The main thing is pic quality, and it will be great.
It also has Picture Wizard II, which helps make for some easy picture calibration.

What is the best tablet to buy for my grandparents?
  Apple iPad 3 MC705LL/A
Well gotta go with iPad on this one. Actually my girlfriend's dad bought his parents an iPad 2 for this past Christmas, and they absolutely love it. So, judging by their reaction, I think it will be appreciated.
The iPad, as we all know, is rooted in simplicity. You can't get much more intuitive than iPad's interface. Touch the icon you want to open, and you're off to the races. A 5 minute tutorial and you feel like you can do anything and everything on it. It has a large screen, and quite impressive resolution, although there are tablets with better res. out there. But the screen is big and bright and the whole thing is super easy to use. I think it's an excellent choice for the grandparents! You are a very sweet grandson!

Best laptop for my upcoming multimedia projects under $1350?
Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A (Late 2011)
Well someone has to suggest a Mac! Seems that way at least.... they are very competitive on most fronts, and lend themselves to many different uses.
They happen to excel at everything media so for these purposes it's a great choice. Your project will probably contain, what some movie editing, music editing, maybe some photo editing? Macbook comes with software that enables you to do all of these things at a fairly high level, all pre installed. You can of course upgrade to more professional software eventually, but it's nice knowing that these things are immediately available for your use. They are also very easy to learn how to use, in case you aren't familiar with these programs.
Macs are fast, reliable, excellent at multi-tasking, just good any way you slice it. Lot sof powerful specs available to look at on the Amazon link here... check it out and good luck on your project!

What is the best TV for gaming under $750?
  LG 42LK520
LG makes a nice Television. I think for gaming you want to look for something with a pretty large screen and a decently high refresh rate. Refresh rate is important because it refers to how many times per second the image is 'redrawn.' So a higher refresh rate means your fast moving action won't look blurry. I think anything 120Hz or higher should do the job for your gaming purposes.
For size, 42 inches is pretty generous, especially for under $750 and with all these nice features. You don't want to go too big if it means sacrificing image quality, because a large image is useless if it's blurry or unclear in any way!
By "all these nice features" I mean you're gonna get a beautiful full HD, 1080p LCD display. With a contrast ratio of 150,000:1 you'll get some incredibly vibrant colors and nice deep blacks. It certainly has all the connectivity you will need for your gaming, too... like HDMI and optical audio.
I like LG! Definitely a good contender here!

What is the best HD TV out there under $500?
  Vizio XVT323SV
There are plenty of HDTV's out there for under $500, it just comes down to what features you want. I happen to be a fan of Vizio, and I have one hanging in my living room (though not this exact model). I recommend Vizio as a brand for a couple reasons: they have outstanding picture quality, they look nice aesthetically, they are reasonably priced, and just in general I have never had any problems with mine. It just works! My only compliant is that the sound from the built-in speakers could be better, but it's not terrible.
So here you'll be getting a full HD 1080p display (LED backlit) on a 32 inch screen. From your question it doesn't seem like you are too picky about size or anything, so I'm just going with the 32" because you'll be able to get a great set for under $500 no problem. It's internet ready and has tons of features (check out the link) or you could opt for a bigger TV that maybe isn't internet ready or 3D capable.
I think this is a user friendly TV that will get you up and running with a beautiful picture in no time!

As far as I'm aware there is no way to add storage to iPhone 4s. You would have to go Droid to be able to do that.
I think the only storage you can get is iCloud.
I guess just dump all your pics and videos onto your computer whenever you can! That's the best I can recommend.

What is the best 'budget' set of headphones out there?
  Skullcandy Titan S2TTDZ-033
These are awesome headphones!!!!!
I just got these for Christmas from my brother. Actually, I went to Target with him and picked them out myself (sort of ruined the surprise) and they were like $35 there, so this is a killer deal.
Both my brother and I were very surprised with the audio quality of these headphones. To be fair, we both previously have used the crappy earbuds that come with Apple products, so any upgrade would be huge. However, I am involved in lots of music/recording/audio stuff and I know what good headphones sound like (I also have a pair of awesome over ear headphones)... but these Skull Candy earbuds can totally compete with my more expensive ones. Obviously they won't compete with a $500 set of Sennheisers, but for $25 or whatever they deliver a lot of sound!
The main difference I noticed immediately (as compared to the Apple earbuds) was that every instrument was equally audible in the mix. With Apple ear buds you get sort of a mishmash of sounds, all jumbled together in a muddy, distorted mess. With Skull Candy, I could hear every instrument clear as day... I could even discern the different parts of the cymbal that the drummer was hitting. A completely different auditory experience. I mean a whole new level.... and this is just the next step up from those Apple ear buds!
I don't know if you're trying to get away from earbuds entirely, but if not, I would definitely recommend these. They will be a very welcome upgrade for you!

What is the best camera for shooting interiors under $250?
  Nikon COOLPIX P300 12.2 CMOS Digital Camera with 4.2x f/1.8 NIKKOR ...
If you can extend your budget just a little bit you can really upgrade you options. Under $250 will get you a decent point and shoot, but it won't do very well in low light, which is what you're going to be shooting with interiors. That's why I would recommend this here Nikon. I think it's your best bet for getting some good interior shots, as it will be slightly better at low light shooting, and it also has a wide angle lens, which is important in making your interior spaces look as inviting and roomy as possible.
Included is a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor for high speed operation and great low-light performance. The 4.2x wide angle optical zoom-NIKKOR Glass lens is going to get some clear and accurate images. It has a 4-way VR Image Stabilization System and also EXPEED C2 with enhanced image quality and processing speed, for low shutter lag and awesome clarity.
The 3-inch Ultra-High Resolution (921,000-dot) Clear Color Display LCD screen will be useful for you as well... I would recommend also investing in a tripod though.
The main two points here are that it shoots wide angle and does well in low light. Definitely the most important factors with this particular question. It's hard to find a decent low light camera that isn't dslr, so when you find one, don't pass it up!

What is the best dslr for travel under $1000?
  Nikon D90 12.3MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/...
This Nikon has a bunch of specs and features that I think lend themselves to travel, and I think it will get some excellent shots for you while you're on the road.
This particular one includes a lens and it may be a hair over $1000, but worth every penny.
If you're looking for a DSLR it means you care about image quality, and Nikon will definitely deliver that for you. Some other things you may be interested in are low-light shooting ability (you might be inside a castle/cathedral or something!), quick response, good battery life, durability, maybe some HD video.... well these things should be well covered.
For image quality, Nikon is a sure thing. With their newly developed DX-format CMOS image sensor (actually the same one that's in the much more expensive D300), and 12.3 effective megapixels you will get beautiful, clear, low-noise images with no shutter lag.
Accompanying this will be the 5.8x AF-S DX Nikkor, 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens. It's versatile and fairly compact.
For your low light shooting you have some ISO options, from 6400 to 100 ISO. With such a great sensor involved, your low light shooting will look awesome.
Thanks to its 0.15-second start-up time and 65-millisecond shutter-release time lag you will have no problems catching those picture-worthy moments and shutter lag will be basically non-existant. Its ability to shoot at 4.5 frames a second for up to 100 shots will enable you to get some amazing action shots, or you can switch to video and record in 720p HD.
Also worth mentioning is durability. This is a very rugged and durable camera. This is good and bad (mostly good). The reason I say it's bad is because it's a bit heavy. But it's heavy because it's built solidly, so as long as you're okay with a little extra weight you wil appreciate the solid build.
I gotta mention one more thing, because I think it's a great feature for the traveling photographer. With the optional GP-1 GPS unit you can get automatic real-time geo-tagging... might be fun!
Definitely consider this camera... I think it's perfect for you!

What is the best camera for interior shots under $1500?
Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD...
Interior lighting is usually so crappy you will definitely need a dslr to get a decent shot. I recommend this Canon Rebel... these are excellent cameras for most shooting situations. This particular option is the body only (no lens included). I recommend this one because you are going to want to get yourself a nice wide-angle lens to maximize the size of the interior you are shooting. This body and a great lens should be under $1500.
The camera itself is going to be awesome. Canon’s DIGIC 4 Image Processor makes for very fast camera operations, and its CMOS sensor captures pics with awesome clarity, even in low light, high ISO situations. For low light you can shoot up to 3200 ISO, and up to 12800 with expansion. Low light shooting will actually be a pleasure instead of a nightmare, and no flash will be necessary....although in some circumstances you may need one.
A tripod might be another good investment for you. You want a crisp image, and since nothing in your photos will be in motion, you might as well be as stationary as possible. This camera does have Canon's image stabilization technology though, so even without a tripod you will be in good shape.
Now, you really are going to want a wide angle lens. This will take your interior shots to a whole new level. I would recommend a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5. It will work beautifully with this camera and make your rooms look large and impressive.
All told, with this option you can get a great camera, a great lens, and probably a tripod (and flash) for under $1500. If you know how to use the camera correctly (or if you're willing to practice a little!)
you'll be able to get fantastic, professional quality shots with this setup.
Happy shooting!

What is the best camera for travel under $1500?
Sony Alpha NEX NEX5K/B Digital Camera with Interchangeable Lens (Bl...
Wow I could recommend this camera purely on how cool and sleek it looks! But don't worry, there are way more pros than just the aesthetics here. (keep in mind there is a newer version of this camera available, but this is the one I am familiar with)
I think this is the perfect travel camera because it offers a great blend of compactness (great for travel), quality (takes amazing pics), and versatility (interchangeable lenses).
Let's start with size. As of 2010 ( I know, a little dated, but still...) this was the smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera available. Sans lens this thing is tiny! Thin, too. A large lens almost looks ridiculous on it. But obviously in a travel situation smaller is better, assuming it still takes quality shots (which it does).
Now lets talk about quality. Sony makes some great cameras. This one boasts a 14.2-megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, which when used in tandem with the the APS-C image sensor (which is 13X the size of a typical sensor found in such a camera) produces some remarkable pics. A high quality sensor is paramount in capturing great pics, especially with up to ISO 12800 sensitivity. You can also record HD quality 1080p video, and you take up to 7 full-res pics per second. You can record some very cool stuff on here.
Now, versatility. Interchangeable lenses! This is a wonderful feature. It comes with a nice lens, and if you want a really great lens for travel I would recommend a Sony E-Mount 18-200 f3.5-6.3 OSS lens. It wil be light and easy to carry around, and give you some fantastic shots...perfect for travel.
It is quite expensive, however the cost of this camera plus this awesome lens will be right around $1500. With this setup you will be taking amazing pictures on a relatively low budget, and with an extremely travel friendly camera. Definitely check it out!

What is the best sports camera under $1000?
  Nikon D90 12.3MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/...
Nikon's D90 is perfectly suited for awesome sports pics. There are a few reasons why:
Shutter speed is very fast! This is an obvious one. If your subject is moving quickly and you want to capture it as a clear, non-blurry image, you will need very fast shutter speeds.... which this camera has. You can even continuously shoot up to 4.5 frames per second.
The D90's image processing engine produces high-res pictures at very high speeds, and at 12.3-megapixels. With its 420-pixel 3D Color Matrix II Metering system, (enhanced by EXPEED image processing) you will see some excellent exposure accuracy, even with your high speed shooting.
In case you are in crappy lighting conditions, as you might face with some indoor sports, you will be happy to know that it shoots very well in low light. It has an ISO range of 6400 to 100, and with the CMOS sensor low light shooting will become easy!
One more thing that's pretty cool is you can shoot HD video on here. I know you want the camera for pictures, but it's always nice to have the option of shooting video, especially in HD.

What is the best camera for kids under $250?
Fujifilm INSTAX 210 Instant Photo Camera Kit with 5 Twin Pack of IN...
I am so excited about this suggestion! I think this would be the coolest camera ever..... for a kid at least. I would have loved this as a kid, and I think as a parent it would be a great way to capture some memories in a really unique way. Every single picture is unique, you know? It has a certain charm to it, as opposed to digital cameras. It would be fun to have a physical photo immediately after taking the snapshot.
I recommend this one opposed to the Polaroid version because Polaroid rips you off so much on film! 10 sheets cost $60 on Amazon! Crazy.
Fujifilm is a little more reasonable with their film... $18 gets you 20 sheets.
I think this is a great option for you. It's $100 less than your budget, so with the extra cash you can go buy yourself a bunch of film!

What is the best camera for portrait photography under $500?
Canon G12 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom...
This Canon here fits nicely into your price range and is one hell of a nice camera. The main reason I recommend this particular one is that it comes with a phenomenal 28mm wide-angle lens that will enable you to take very sharp photos. I've only read great things about it. The camera + lens together is rated very highly in its class for general image quality
I have also heard great things about the Hybrid Image Stabilization. I think you will find that you can take great pictures (with zero blur) without a tripod, which will be nice and will free you up a bit.
It's not a super advanced camera, but it does have a bunch of cool features (like portrait mode) and of course you can adjust many of the settings manually (like aperture priority, shutter priority, and independent control of each of them) as need be.
Since you'll probably be taking many pics in one shoot, you'll be happy to know that in official testing (by the Camera & Imaging Products Association, or CIPA), this camera got about 370 pics/battery charge even with the LCD screen on.
I think this is your best bet in the non-DSLR category. It will be easy to use and get some seriously awesome pictures.

What is the best camera for landscapes under $2000?
Pentax K20D 14.6MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction (Body Only)
Hmmmmm... landscapes, huh? Let's see, you're probably going to want something with awesome image stabilization, and I say this for a couple reasons. With landscapes your subject is, for the most part, stationary. With an extra stable camera you can shoot with some slower shutter speeds, which in turn should give you some more dramatic looking pictures. This will not only help with image depth and colors, but also motion. Imagine a moving waterfall with it's stationary backdrop. It's probably important to be able to shoot without a tripod, because who knows where you are going to have to be situated to get the right shot... another reason a good image stabilizer is important.
Another thing to consider with landscapes is your megapixels. More megapixels literally means a larger image. This is good because you will be able to make large, high-res prints of your landscapes. Landscapes should be displayed large if you ask me, in order to fully appreciate the beauty.
Unfortunately this is the body only....no lens here. That will put you a bit over budget, but you may find that it's worth it because this is a really great camera.

What is the best camera for low light photography under $500?
Canon G12 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom...
Aside from upping your budget and getting a really nice DSLR, I think this will be one of the best low-light camera options. The G12 by Canon. This is a fantastic camera for the budding photographer, and it performs really well in low light situations.
Some of the most important factors to consider for low light shooting is sensor size and type. Bigger is going to be better here. This Canon has a large 10 megapixel CCD sensor. You might also see CMOS sensors while looking for cameras, and in general they are a little more expensive (albeit also more forgiving) than the CCD's....but CCD's are still good, as long as it's large enough!
Next, you're going to want a wide maximum lens aperture, which helps low-light performance by simply allowing more light into the camera. Anything f2.5 or greater would be considered great for low light situations (this can be confusing because in this case a lower number means more light!)
and with a range of f/2.8-4.5, it will definitely be acceptable for low light shooting, especially considering the large sensor that it has been paired with. (Keep in mind this is a 5x zoom camera, and as you zoom your aperture will become smaller!)
I think the next thing to consider is ISO sensitivity. With low light shooting you will need some higher ISO sensitivity, but you also need a good image processor to deal with this information, or even high quality photos will look like a mess. Canon has these bases covered though. With a max. setting of ISO 3200 and Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor, your high ISO photos will come out clear and grain free... this processor deals with the so-called 'noise' (white dots/grainyness') very well.
One more thing to consider that might help with your low-light shooting is stability, as your shutter speed will probably be slower to gather light. Luckily, this Canon does offer Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) which really helps, as will a decent tri-pod.
Good luck with your search, and I hope this helps!

What is the best laptop for business under $2000?
  Acer Aspire TimelineX AS4830TG-6450
I think you should consider this here Acer.
If you are doing presentations you wil obviously need some awesome connectivity. With this Acer you get 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port, along with an HDMI port with HDCP support. hat should be pretty solid for your purposes. It also has a multi-in-1 digital media card reader.
For staying connected on the go: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi certified and Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and it also has Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR.
As a business traveller I think you wil be happy to know that this thing gets AWESOME battery life. A wonderful commodity on the road.
As far as other goodies, you'll probably appreciate the inside specs, and it should have no problem with modeling or chart software here:
2nd Generation Intel Core i5-2430M processor... 2.40GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.0GHz)
Windows 7 Home Premium
Microsoft Office Starter 2010
640GB hard drive
4GB DDR3 memory
It's a great deal! Very portable, quite powerful, well priced.

What is the best laptop for kids under $1200?
Apple MacBook Air MC968LL/A (Mid 2011)
I would say this little guy is the best option at your price point. There are just so many great things about Macbooks, and I think especially its user friendly approach will be very pleasant for your child.
Add to the fact that it is small, light, durable, powerful, and really cool looking makes it a great choice for you.
Now, it's not the most powerful computer in the world, but such things don't come to my mind when considering a laptop for kids. I think it will be fast and powerful enough, though. It has a Intel dual-core i5 processor, 2 gb RAM and a 64GB solid state drive. These numbers aren't staggering, but it will provide enough speed and power to play some games, browse the net, do some homework, and that sort of thing (especially the homework part, right?)
The really great thing here, to me, is the size. The 11.6" screen size is so manageable for a kids, and the thing only weighs 2.38 pounds. Aptly named!
Bottom line, your child will love this computer, and you will love how reliable and durable it is, as you won't have to buy a new one anytime soon!

What is the best laptop for DJing under $3000?
Apple MacBook Pro MD318LL/A (Late 2011)
To me, Macbook would be the clear winner in this category. For almost all matters music related I would recommend a Mac. From its fast i7 processor to its 750gb (optional) hard drive...this thing is a beast!
But there are plenty of laptops out there with amazing specs, some of which actually make Macbooks look slow in comparison (on paper)... but don't worry, they are anything but slow! It will certainly do everything you need it to as a DJ (like run your DJ software, playing music and multi-tasking), and it will do it lightning quick.
I think more importantly, as a DJ (someone who is potentially getting paid to play music via laptop), you need a VERY reliable machine. You simply cannot have your laptop crapping out on you when you are doing a show! For that reason alone, buy a Macbook. There isn't a more reliable computer out there, and no one else will stand by their products like Apple does. First, they make a solid, durable machine, they build it to be extremely reliable, and then they give you a great warranty with an optional extended warranty (which you should consider). It's an investment in yourself and your business!

What is the best laptop for software development under $1200?
  ASUS N53SV-EH71
I think this would be a fantastic option for you.
It's marketed as an 'Entertainment Laptop' but what does that mean? It means it will have a really nice display, and enough power for some pretty serious gaming, movie watching, music listening, etc. I also think this means that it will be perfectly suited for some software development.
You will need a nice big clear screen to comfortably see what you're doing. This 15.6 inch (1366x768) LED display, coupled with its Nvidia GT540M graphics (with 1GB DDR3 VRAM) is going to look clear and beautiful.
For power you're looking at an Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor (up to 2.8 GHz w/turboboost), 4GB RAM (upgradable, of course), and a 500GB hard drive. You may find out quickly that you need more RAM for your multi-tasking, and that should be easily remedied... there are 4 slots for up to 16GB RAM. This RAM upgrade will be relatively inexpensive and will greatly improve the possibilities of this machine. That i7 processor will awesome for you, too.
I think this is a great all around computer that you could absolutely so some serious developing on!

What is the best laptop for video editing under $2500?
Apple MacBook Pro MD311LL/A (Late 2011)
Gotta say, I don't think there is a better suited machine for video editing than Macbook Pro...especially with this large, 17 inch screen. You're going to want some incredible graphics and a zippy processor, as those video files can get pretty massive.
I just can't think of a better computer for video editing... you can find other laptops with 'better' specifications like more RAM or higher GHz, but it seems like nothing will run quite as smoothly and reliably for a Mac, for years to come. This is an investment in your video editing future!
For processing, you'll get a quad-core Intel i7 processor (2.4 GHz). These i7's are blazingly fast and efficient... as Apple describes it, "provides breakthrough digital media management, content creation, and 3D gaming capabilities".... right up your alley.
You're also looking at 4 GB (1333MHz) DDR3 SDRAM and a 750GB hard drive. This will certainly be enough to edit and manipulate those video files with out wasting time watching things load.
Equally important, you'll be working with a beautiful 17 inch LED-backlit display with 1920 by 1200 resolution. Paired with AMD Radeon HD 6770M (with 1GB GDDR5) graphics, your display should be crisp, vibrant, and accurate. Actually, Pro switches between to video processors, using the AMD for more graphics intensive work and its integrated Intel card for easier workloads...this helps to save batteries.
It also has some nice connectivity options for you, with three USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 800 port, and an ExpressCard/34 slot.
This is an amazing machine! It will definitely perform well for you and your video editing needs.

What is the best laptop for gaming under $400?
  eMachines EMD528-2496
I think this would be a good machine to consider, as it is cheap and upgradeable.
For under $400 you get an Intel Celeron 925 2.30GHz processor, 2GB DDR3 Memory, 320GB hard drive, a 14 inch screen, HDMI and VGA ports, a webcam, and 3 USB ports. Pretty good, considering the price. You can always upgrade your RAM up to 8 gb whenever you want.
I think in the general the laptop might feel a little cheap, but that is sort of par for the course, as they say. Seeing as it has a decent processor and a little upgrade will give you a ton a of RAM, I think this could turn into a sweet budget gaming computer!
You can add a huge external hard drive and this thing will move pretty quick, I would assume.

What is the best laptop for audio editing under $1200?
  ASUS N55SF-DH71
For a non-Mac suggestion, I think this would be an excellent choice for you… this suggestion based entirely on audio editing though, and not factors such as portability or aesthetics!
This computer is pretty big and pretty heavy. The large battery charger and decently large screen don’t make this thing the most portable of laptops. But, that’s not the point here.... just a word of warning. The point is audio editing. Dealing with large digital music files and manipulating them requires a big hard drive, a decent amount of RAM, and a great processor. Lucky for you, this computer has all of those things and more.
RAM = 8gb DDR3
Hard Drive= 750 gb
Processor = Intel i7
You’re also going to need a big, clear display. 15.6 inches is pretty big (I would say it’s big enough) and in this case it is LED-backlit with a full HD display (1920 x 1080), so working on those intricate songs you’re dealing with should be pretty enjoyable. Designed as an entertainment laptop, they have given equal thought to audio as video matters. As per ASUS’ description of the audio: “ASUS SonicMaster Technology combines software and hardware for improved clarity, volume, and more detailed sound”.
They also claim to have an ‘Adaptive Dynamics Refinement System” which claims to
restore the clarity and fidelity of compressed audio in movies, music, games, and voice conferencing.
I think all these reasons should put ASUS among your top considerations.

What is the best laptop for multimedia under $800?
  ASUS A53SV-EH71
I think this is a great choice for your multimedia needs. It’s got a well-rounded layout, giving you a bit of everything you need for your media related issues. I think the screen size is nice, too. 15.6 inches is enough to see and interact with everything going on.
As for internal stats, you’ll be getting an Intel Core i7-2630QM (2.0 GHz… with Turboboost you’re up to 2.93GHz), a great NVIDIA GeForce GT card (540M 1GB DDR3 VRAM), 6GB of DDR3 (which goes up to 8GB Max), 640GB hard drive (5400 RPM) and a Super Multi DVD Drive.
With your purchase you’ll be happy to know that Windows 7 Home Premium is included, as is the 5-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/SDHC)
You also get a built in webcam, an HDMI and VGA Port, and 3 USB 2.0 Ports.
ASUS is very highly ranked among customer satisfaction and they stand behind their products. I think for gaming, movies, and music this would be an excellent choice. It has all the necessary elements that make up a killer multimedia experience.

What is the best laptop for college under $1200?
Apple MacBook Pro MD313LL/A (Late 2011)
Almost any time someone can afford a Macbook Pro, I recommend they get one…. This of course depends largely on what they need it for, but I think for college it’s a perfect choice.
Below their amazing simplicity and user friendly design lies an extremely complex and capable machine that will easily complete any task you might encounter in college. Besides its powerful internal specs (which we will get into), the Pro is capable of running OS X and Windows 7 (even simultaneously if you want) making it super versatile and perfect for any situation.
The 13” version is, in my opinion, the perfect size for college. It’s large enough to where it won’t inhibit your experience, but small enough to carry around to class without any problems.
As far as the insides, you’re looking at a 2.4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Processor, 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM, and a 500 GB Hard Drive.
As with all Macs, some other features you will get is excellent battery life and excellent durability/longevity. Buy a good warranty and you’ll be using this computer for the next 3 or 4 years….definitely worth the investment if you ask me (or anyone with a mac!)
No question, this is an excellent choice for you!

What is the best laptop for gaming under $1500?
  Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7384
If I were to purchase a gaming laptop for myself, there are a few things I would need in order to feel 100% satisfied with my purchase.
First on that list, a big-ass screen. I want to be completely absorbed in my gaming experience, and I also want that strategic advantage that comes with being able to see more. The 17.3 inches this Toshiba offers is right up my alley.
Next, I would be concerned with speed and graphics. Luckily, this computer has the bases covered for these concerns as well. You’ll be getting an Intel i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M w/NVIDIA Optimus Technology and 1.5GB GDDR5 discrete graphics memory. Man this thing will give you some beautiful graphics at very high speeds.
Of course we also want to consider hard drive size… which is 1TB, split among two 500 gb serial ATA hard drives.
Another cool feature to look forward to is the Built-in Harman/Kardon stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio and Waves MaxxAudio 3 enhancements. So your aural experience is also going to rock. Everything about this laptop screams, “pick me!! Pick mee!”
A couple other thing to expect are crappy battery life and a big, heavy computer. But hey, you didn’t ask for portability!
You’re gonna get 1 USB 3 port and 3 USB 2 ports, a multi-format memory card reader, and hey, the laptop itself is very attractive. I like when they put some thought into the aesthetics of the unit, because to me it totally adds to the whole experience.

What is the best laptop for kids under $400?
  Sony VAIO YB Series VPCYB33KX/B
I love this idea. It’s s small and practical for a kid!
Only 3.2 pounds and with an 11 inch screen. It has enough power to browse the net and play some fun games or whatever, but not so much that it’s a waste (I don’t think young kids need a ton of computing power). With its 1.65 GHz AMD E-series dual-core processor, 320 GB SATA hard drive and 2 GB of installed DDR3 RAM, it should be enough to fulfill your child’s computer needs without being over the top. It even has a built in webcam, speakers, HDMI, 3 USB ports, VGA video output…. It has everything a larger laptop would have, just smaller. I think this is something a child would absolutely love to play with/ work on.
Mostly, I think the size is perfect! Too large a laptop would be overwhelming, and I would feel uncomfortable having a kid running around with a massive laptop in his/her delicate little fingers!

What is the best laptop for DJing under $800?
  Toshiba Satellite L755-S5169
Basically, I’m thinking you need something with at least 2 GB Ram, a decent processor, and a decent hard drive. This guy has plenty of RAM for you (4gb DDR3) and plenty of storage to go along with your external hard drive or hard drives (640gb serial ATA).
These Toshibas are nice computers, and very portable. I know you’ll probably be luggin around a bunch of equipment, so a lightweight computer is a good thing. It has a dual core i3 processor, but don’t worry, it runs at a solid 2.1 GHz, plenty fast for your music, assuming you take car of your computer and keep it clean. I agree with what Adele said, in that it should be your DJ laptop exclusively.... you don't want to bog it down with unnecessary crap that may slow you down in a performance.
I think people have a natural propensity towards Mac for DJ stuff, but the fact is you can get some serious specs on a PC for a much lower price than a Mac. For example, you won't really find a new Mac in this price range that will work for DJing, but there are many PCs that have some good internal specs that should work great for DJ work. Also, there is always room for upgrades with this sort of thing, so I think starting out around this price range is a good idea. You can add memory and whatnot as you progress and need it.
This is a nice all around entertainment laptop, and I think it will be a pleasure to do some dj work on.

What is the best laptop for software development under $3000?
  Sony Vaio VPC-F
I really like Sony Vaio, especially the high-end models. These things are extremely fast and powerful, boasting 16GB RAM, an Intel Core i7 second generation processor (with turboboost up to 3.60GHz), and a 512 GB SSD hard drive....wow very impressive for a Solid State Drive.
This thing is ready to go and is going to perform very well. I like the 16 inch screen, I think it’s a nice mix of portability and screen size. The large screen and impressive specs will certainly allow you to do some serious compiling and graphics intensive developing, and FAST! Another cool thing is you get 2 USB 3.0 ports and 1 USB 2.0 port.
This is a very capable machine, and I would say the only way to find a better (or more expensive) laptop is to find one with a larger screen. You could probably get a Vaio with a larger screen…

What is the best laptop for travel under $800?
  Acer Aspire TimelineX AS4830TG-6450
The word travel makes me think long battery life, compact (lightweight) design, and durable build. Secondary to that, I would say you’ll want something that is decently fast, has some multitasking capabilities....and probably some decent memory, too. I think this Acer will perform on all these fronts.
It’s equipped with a 14" HD widescreen LED-backlit display with 1366 x 768 resolution. For speed, it has an Intel Core i5 Processor which, when coupled with with Turbo Boost, gets up to 3.0GHz. For your convenience, also included is Windows 7 Home Premium, Microsoft Office Starter 2010, a 640GB hard drive, 4GB DDR3 memory, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (with 1GB DDR3 VRAM).
To stay connected on the go, you’ll be happy to know this computer is 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi certified, has 10/100/1000 ethernet LAN and Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR. Also, to ensure you have a nice audio experience, it’s got Dolby Advanced Home Theater v4 audio enhancement.
For connectivity you’ve got 2- USB 2.0 Ports & 1- USB 3.0 Port, along with 1- HDMI Port with HDCP suppor.
Add to all this that it only weighs 4.88 lbs and that you should get awesome battery life (they claim 9 hours which is obviously an exaggeration, but even half that would be decent) and you’ve got a fantastic travel machine. The aluminum casing also helps keep the build solid, great for travelling too. The size is right, the specs are impressive, and the price is very agreeable.

What is the best laptop for business under $400?
  HP g6-1d70us
I think this would be a solid choice for you. The battery life is not very impressive, but that is to be expected in the $400 range. The other internal specs should lend themselves nicely to your business needs. One thing to consider right away would be an external hard drive…. I think it would dramatically improve the performance you will get out of this computer.
It’s got 3 GB DDR3 SDRAM memory, and this is expandable to 8 GB.It also has a decent sized 320 GB serial ATA hard drive. You’ll be able to video chat with the built-in webcam, and it is pretty good on the road at staying connected, with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi , 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet LAN and Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR.
Like I said, besides the battery life, everything else is quite good, especially when considering the price. I can't imagine you needing a powerhouse computer for general business work... you're probably more concerned with staying connected and maybe running a couple company programs or the like. I think it would be a worthy business companion.

What is the best laptop for video editing under $800?
  ASUS A53SV-EH71
This would be an excellent choice for you. I think you would benefit from something with a large hard drive and a decent processor for dealing with those large video files.
This Asus would offer you a 640 gb hard drive and an Intel i7 processor that will get up to 2.93 GHz with turbo boost. It also has a good amount of RAM - 6gb.
To achieve the most accurate editing conditions you will need a good graphics card and a decent screen size. This one comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card and a 15.6 inch (HD) display… there are bigger screens out there but this is pretty good for the money. It will be nice and sharp for ya. As far as audio, the Altec Lansing speakers enhanced with SRS Premium Sound should give you a nice full audio experience. You can of course add a larger or better monitor, but keep in mind some serious calibration will probably be needed for accurate color representation.
It does have a full number pad and it has iPad style zoom with two fingers on the touch pad… both of these might be useful features for your editing purposes.

What is the best laptop for DJing under $1500?
Apple MacBook Pro MD314LL/A (Late 2011)
I would have to go with Macbook on this one. Yes, you will have to sacrifice a little screen size to keep it under $1500, but it would definitely be worth the sacrifice. 13 inches is actually not even that small, and I do think it would restrict your DJing whatsoever.
The Pro is equipped with a sizeable 750 gb hard drive, 4 gb DDR3, and the super fast 2.8 GHz dual-core Intel i7 processor. This should be plenty of processing power for your DJ mixing program (or whichever one you use) and coupled with an external hard drive (or two) you should be in good shape.
The Macbook comes standard with a great sound card, and very high quality audio is possible with this machine...provided you have high quality MP3's.
You just can't go wrong with a Macbook!
Another really important factor, I would say, is build quality... durability. DJing means travelling, setting up, tearing down, drunk people everywhere.... you need something solid. Macs are built very well, and besides the usual wear and tear, it won't fall apart on you unexpectedly.

2.4 GHz Intel Core i5-2430M dual-core processor (3.0 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology
640 GB SATA hard drive (5400 RPM)
6 GB of installed DDR3 RAM

What is the best laptop for business under $1200?
  Dell XPS X15Z-7502ELS
In some ways I am surprised this is even available at this price. It has some impressive features that make it a worthy opponent, even to some higher priced computers.
It has 6 gb DDR3, an Intel Core i7 processor, and a 640 gb (7200 rpm) SATA hard drive. I think that's pretty reasonable for the price. It also has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M to help light up that 15" HD screen.
To me, a business laptop is something that is reasonably powerful and easily portable, as you will probably find yourself on the go in your business. It weighs less than 6 pounds and its 6 cell battery should get you some good battery life, although I can't comment on exactly how much.
You will also like to know that you get a multi-format memory card reader which includes compatibility with SD, SDHC, SDHD, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, and xD Picture Card. MIght come in useful. You also get 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port, and one HDMI port. So much connectivity, so much power..... an excellent choice for the savvy businessman/woman.

What is the best laptop for travel under $1200?
  Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A-B01
I want to say first of all that I am recommending this as a travel companion, not as a workhorse. There are plenty of more powerful machines out there, but not many offer such a nice union of size, power, price, display, and general appeal.
I would compare it so a Macbook Air. It has a very sleek aesthetic to it... simple, clean lines throughout. It's enclosed in Duraluminum, a material they claim to be twice as strong as aluminum while still being lighter. The product itself only weighs 2.9 pounds, and the 13" screen is generous but still small enough to easily carry around.
It has a 128 gb SSD, which is good for travel (no moving parts) and the 'Sandy Bridge" Intel i5 dual core processor. It also has 4 gb RAM. Like I said... not the fastest computer ever, but certainly adept for travel, especially considering the "up to 7 hours" they claim for battery life. (obviously you won't get that, but maybe count on 5 or so?)
It's got bluetooth capability, wireless wifi networking capabilities, and also some decent graphics from Intel.

What is the best laptop for DJing under $2000?
Apple MacBook Pro MD318LL/A (Late 2011)
Couldn't agree more with James. I think this is the ultimate DJ machine. Besides its quick i7 processor, large hard drive and 4gb DDR3 RAM (you can upgrade to 8), it's also the right size and dimensions for such a job. It's also pretty easily portable... it weighs 5.6 lbs and is less than an inch thick. You'll already have a lot of heavy equipment, so don't weigh yourself down with unnecessary bulk.
The fact that it is the most used laptop by DJs worldwide should tell you something...namely, if you can afford one, get one.
The internal sound card that accompanies the Pro is excellent...about as good as you will find in a laptop. It is not, however, "audiophile" quality.... meaning it is still susceptible to subtle interferences from the surrounding components. But like I said, it will be subtle, and will sound as good, if not better, than your other choices.

What is the best laptop for video editing under $1200?
  Sony VAIO F2 Series VPCF232FX/B
If you want the option to edit HD video then you want at least 2.4 GHz, and really somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0 GHz will be better. As far as your hard drive, somewhere between 150 GB and 250 GB is probably solid. A decent amount of memory will be needed, and of course you'll also want something with a good graphics card and probably some sort of sound card as well.
I think this Vaio easily clears all of these proposed minmum requirements. With its i7 processor and Turbo Boost you'll be up around 3.1 GHz. It has a 500 gb hard drive, and 4 gb ram (build it up to 8 gb if you want).
It's also got Sony's Vegas editing software, and I've heard pretty good things about Vegas Pro, if you want to go in that direction. It has all the advanced editing tools you will need.
Vaio is definitely a great computer. Worth your consideration for sure.

It's hard to find a computer with all these great stats and not find something wrong with it! Seems battery life might be an issue with this guy, but other than that I think we have a pretty nice machine on our hands.
I like Dell computers in general, and think this is a great model. I would also consider the XPS 15, although it has a smaller screen.
Some other things you might find useful are the backlit keyboard, and the fact that it is slightly angled, which creates a nice typing surface and allows for some air flow underneath, to keep it cool during your long work sessions.

What is the best laptop for college under $2500?
Apple MacBook Pro MD318LL/A (Late 2011)
I think I have seen this computer come up as a suggestion for every single laptop question! Reason is, it may be the best laptop out there, as it's speed, power and versatility make it ideal for just about every scenario.
Basically, for this type of thing I would say all you need is something with a lot of RAM (4gb should do) and a great processor (i7 is great and twice as fast as the preceding model they used, which was already fast).
A huge selling point to me is that you can just as easily run Windows as OS X. No matter what they throw at you, this computer can handle it. It will run Inventor, Solidworks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, all no problem. It will also support Java.
I know that as a student NOT involved in engineering, my macbook was capable of everything (and more) that I needed it for in school. If it can do all your engineering work and everything else, I think it would be silly not to get one. Lot's of people are making the switch to Mac, as it performs so well across the board.
Ha ha I read one article that rated the 25 or so best Windows Laptops, and the Macbook Pro was at the very top of the list!!! That should tell you something right there.

What is the best laptop for software development under $2500?
Apple MacBook Pro MD311LL/A (Late 2011)
I'm gonna go ahead and recommend the Macbook Pro here.
Any laptop with decent specs is going to allow you to program well. These things are so fast these days (especially around your price point) that just about any of them will do the job. So I am looking for features that set one apart from the crowd... in this case I think it's Mac.
The reason is, I have no idea what software you use or what you are programming, so I think you need a machine that is flexible and powerful enough to run all the software and operating systems you may come across. While the Pro might not run EVERYTHING, it will do a lot, namely it can easily run Windows 7 and OS X, equally efficiently (and also simultaneously). Doing this with a PC is not as easy.
I also want to mention battery life real quick here. 5, 6, 7 hours of battery life will be much appreciated when you are programming on the go.
It's powerful, versatile, and incredibly simple to work on, and for these reasons I say go Mac.

What is the best laptop for DJing under $2500?
Apple MacBook Pro MD318LL/A (Late 2011)
I could offer another suggestion to you (like a Sony Viao or something), but really it would just be for variety, because I absolutely think this is the best choice for you.
It's the most popular laptop for DJs in the world, and that's no accident....it's perfectly suited for your needs.
From its extremely fast i7 processor to its 500GB (5400rpm) hard drive and 4 GB 1333MHz DDR3, it's got the solid inner workings of a champion (you will need at least 2GB memory, so with 4 you'll be set).
These things are known for their reliability and durability (that's why we pay so much for them, right?) so you won't have to worry about it freezing up on you or giving you any problems during your performance.
Obviously you will want to add an external hard drive (or 2), as it will be faster than the internal one here, and speed is always key. Also, regardless of what computer you end up with, keep in mind that if you plan on playing through a PA you will need to purchase higher quality MP3's, as sound quality will be very noticeable at high volume levels, and you want your tunes to sound good.
Macbook is definitely a good way to go. You will be very happy with this purchase.

What is the best laptop for multimedia uses under $2500?
  HP ENVY 17-2280NR
I've been looking at this guy and I think it's an excellent choice for your multimedia experience. Right off the bat I have to tell you that it's not going to get even close to the battery life that the Macbook Pro will get..... (and the Pro is also a really good multimedia computer!)... but it will compete and it's much cheaper.
What I like about this one is that it is extremely well rounded in all matters media related. It has a little bit of everything and delivers on all fronts.
When I think multimedia I think about watching movies, maybe a little gaming, some internet, and definitely listening to music. Beats will perform on all these levels.
It's got an i5 processor.... I know Macbook pro has an i7, but this things runs at 2.66GHz, up to 2.93 withTurbo Boost. It also has 6GB DDR3 system memory (max supported is 8GB) and a 750GB (5400RPM) hard drive. So it's got the guts.
Visually, it has a 14.5" High-Def HP Brightview Infinity LED Display, which, coupled with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card, is going to make your movies and games visually stunning. So it will be pretty darn fast and graphics will be excellent.
I also like that it has Dr. Dre's Beats Audio thing going on. It's his attempt to bring the sounds of the studio to real life and recreate the songs as they were meant to be heard...clear and full. I haven't heard the difference personally, but as everyone has a pair of his Beats headphones (which are expensive) I can only hope they actually make a noticeable sonic difference, and that we all aren't just subject to good marketing and celebrity placement.
Either way, I respect their attempt to market to music-seeking multimedia enthusiasts like ourselves!

What is the best laptop for gaming under $2500?
  Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7384
This is a pretty impressive machine right here. Besides the large screen, backlit keys and full number pad, it's got a whole list of nice features that make it not only powerful but surprisingly affordable.
It's got 2, 500 GB Serial ATA hard disk drives, for a combined 1TB. It has 6 GB of installed DDR3 RAM which is expandable to 8. It also has a 2.0 GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor... get up to 2.9 with Turbo Boost.
The display is going to be beautiful, boasting a 17.3-inch widescreen HD Trubrite LED-backlit display with native HD 720p resolution. And as far as graphics, you'll be in good hands in the world of Nvidia (with a GeForce GTX 560M).
Battery life might be the only downfall here, as it only claims 4.2 hours, and of course that under perfect operating conditions and will likely be less.
It's got graphics, it's got power, it's got speed. Pretty good price, too. Check it out.

What is the best laptop for multimedia under $3000?
Apple MacBook Pro MD311LL/A (Late 2011)
Gotta suggest the good ol' Macbook Pro here. I can't think of a machine better suited for your multi media experience.
The 2.4 GHz i series processor is lightning quick. The 17" LED backlit display (1920 by 1200 resolution) is crystal clear and even has 3D gaming capabilities. It has an HD camera built right in.
It has awesome graphics flexibility with its two video processors, and the graphics in general are amazing.
Did I mention that it's fast?
Also, I feel like Apple is synonymous with music, and your listening, recording, and editing will all be a pleasure on this machine.
I also happen to like OS Lion, but that's just me!

What is the best laptop for video editing under $400?
  HP g6-1d70us
I think this would be decent for you as a beginner, assuming you are ok with a PC. I know Final Cut is a great program for Macs, and probably the easiest to use, but there is also good editing software for PCs.... for example, Adobe Premier Elements 10. It's only $99 and is pretty competitive, although it lacks 3D capabilities (but as a beginner I doubt that matters).
It has some good stuff going for it. Screen size is good, it has 3GB DDR3 SDRAM memory, which is easily expandable to 8GB, and it has a 320GB (5400 RPM) Serial ATA hard drive. Not bad for the price! And it should run Adobe. It also has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics chip in there to help out with the display.
I think this is an incredible value, and you should absolutely consider it!

What is the best laptop for travel under $2000?
Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A (Mid 2011)
I don't know if you have any other specific purposes other than travel that you want this for. I am guessing since you did not specify, that you are mostly interested in entertainment and media and that sort of thing, as I would be if I were doing a bunch of travelling!
I love Macs in general, and really think this is best general purpose laptop to travel with.
And there are many reasons why!
First and foremost, let's talk about the physical properties. The Air is only .68" thick and weighs in at less than 3 pounds. The screen size is only 13.3", but that is plenty for keeping yourself entertained and busy during travel. Any bigger than that quickly becomes too much to handle and can be a nuisance... like taking it out on a plane, you don't want anything much bigger than the tray table! Even with its small size, it still has a full size keyboard, btw.
Battery life is also going to be a key issue. They say it gets 7 hours, and you should always count on a little less than that. Maybe 6 or so, which is pretty darn good. There are some laptops that can go longer, but they usually require some help from an external source.
As far as power, speed, memory, and those things, Air is pretty darn competitive. It has a 1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. Sure, there are processors that run higher GHz, but the i series is very impressive and fast, so don't let the numbers discourage you. It also has 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM and a 128 GB solid state drive. Solid state drives are certainly the way to go for a travelling laptop, as they have no moving parts which adds to your durability. Oh yeah...durability! Definitely a key factor. These are pretty tough machines. Aluminum casing and the SSD add to its durability, and Macs in general are pretty tough and tend to last a long time. Go Air!

What is the best laptop for software development under $800?
  HP Pavilion dv7-6165us
While I am no software developer, I can speculate some important things that one would need in a laptop in order to maximize efficiency.
One such thing (as Eugene said) is comfort. A lot of typing yields tired fingers and sore wrists, so you want a nice full size layout. This HP provides exactly that. It also has a full number pad, helping facilitate quick data entry. Also, I agree with Greg that a PC is most certainly the way to go as a software developer, as opposed to a Mac.
I think a nice large screen will be helpful, too, but not imperative. With lots of data entry I like to see what I'm doing on a slightly larger scale.
I also like that it has a strong set of specs behind it. It's a very well rounded machine, and should function very well in many settings. These specs include Vision A8 Technology from AMD, with their Quad-Core A8-3500M accelerated processor (yup...it's fast!), 6GB DDR3, and a 640GB (5400RPM) SATA drive. Definitely capable of some serious programming as well as lots of other things (like it says in the title, it will be an excellent entertainment computer, too).
Bulk and weight will be the only downfalls here, but as long as you aren't doing too much travelling it shouldn't be too big of an issue.
Definitely a good competitor... worth looking into for sure!

What is the best laptop for audio editing under $3000?
Apple MacBook Pro MD311LL/A (Late 2011)
If there was ever a laptop perfectly suited for audio editing, this would be it. The large LED-backlit screen (with 1920 by 1200 resolution) makes fine tuning your songs easy, as you can easily see the fine details. The 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 processor is going to be very fast, and all that ridiculous amount of information will load very quickly.
All of my friends who do audio editing have a Mac of some sort and they are all very happy with it. It will run Pro Tools effortlessly and I know with Pro Tools 9 you can use any core audio compatible interface.
I had to convince my parents to get me a Mac as well, as they saw it as a bit too pricey. However, they have seen that it was absolutely worth the investment, as 3 years later it is still going strong, and I have gotten a ridiculous amount of use out of it.
Hey, I do a lot of music stuff and editing as well, and I can tell you Macs are amazing at this stuff!

What is the best laptop for kids under $3000?
Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A (Mid 2011)
Some things that seem important when I think about laptops for kids....
High durability, small size, easy usability, price/performance ratio, longevity.
For all of these factors I think this is a great choice for you.
DURABILITY: These are built for the road, and between the solid state drive (no moving parts) and the aluminum casing, it's gonna be pretty tough. Buy a nice shell for it and you will really add to that durability factor.
SIZE: 13.3" is plenty big enough for an 8 year old kid. It won't really restrict anything and it will be small and light enough to carry around (weighs less than 3 pounds).
USABILITY: Macs are renowned for their usability. Just about anyone can look at a Mac and figure out how to use it, because everything is just so darn obvious. Macs are great about that. The word 'intuitive' comes to mind.
PRICE/PERFORMANCE: Sure, Macs are a bit expensive, but the performance you get from them is incredible. The 1.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor kicks butt, and it's just gonna be fast and reliable.
LONGEVITY: I would say this is another category that Macs are renowned for. You buy a Mac and you're gonna have it for a few years, and in those years it will always perform right. I have never had any real problems with my Mac. Since he/she is only 8 you're gonna want something that will last for a long time, as you obviously don't want to have to keep repurchasing computers!
Macs are always a good choice! This is the one I would get.

What is the best laptop for business under $2500?
  ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH72
Business business business. A few things come to mind as far as your wants and needs for a business laptop.
Obviously portability is going to be a large factor. I'm sure you are looking for a business laptop because you need be able to work on the road, or least while you are out of the office. This computer is great for portability. The size is ideal, if you ask me. 13.3" is smallish but doesn't really detract at all... you will certainly be able to see everything on the screen just fine, and it is light and small.
The next thing to consider is power. The Intel i series is fantastic, and they (along with the MD Athlon II and Turion II) are very popular among business computers, as they offer just the right amount of processing power without being overkill. This one has an Intel Core i7 2677M processor which will perform very well. I would also say you're gonna need at least 4GB RAM, and this one has 4 GB DDR3. Anything more might be overkill, depending on what your work is. Less than 4 probably won't be enough, as you won't be able to open as many windows simultaneously, possibly slowing you down.
Next on the list would probably be storage, and again it's important to find a balance. Too much is a waste of money and too little means you won't have enough space (duh). I would usually say a 500GB to 750GB hard drive is a good size, however, for a business traveller I would have to recommend a Solid State Drive, which usually offer less storage but has no spinning parts, meaning it's better suited for travel. This one has a 256 GB SATAIII SSD which should be enough.
I don't think graphics will be a factor, so I won't go into that.
In all these ways, I think this is a great choice for the busy businessman (or woman), as it offers an excellent blend of performance, portability, and pricing.

What is the best laptop for college under $400?
  HP g6-1d70us
A touch over 400 will get you this HP. I think it's a great choice for this price range. The main problem here is going to be battery life.... says you'll get "up to 4 hours" so expect more like 2 or 3. I know that's not too impressive, but expect to have crappy battery life at this price point. Other than that it should perform for you quite nicely, as long as you are using it as a general purpose, light duty laptop. In other words, it's not for serious gaming or intense video editing or the like.
So what do you get for $400? Well, let's start with the 15.6" diagonal High-Definition HP BrightView LED display. 1366 x 768 is decent enough and will certainly suffice for school work. As far as memory goes, it's got 3GB DDR3, and the hard drive is a 320GB (5400RPM) SATA drive. So, like I said, great for basic functions and school work, browsing the net, that sort of thing.
The processor is an AMD Athlon II Dual-Core processor (2.20GHz). Pretty fast, not lightning though.
It may not be the sexiest laptop of all time but I think you will certainly get your money's worth and it won't do you wrong!

What is the best laptop for gaming under $1200?
  Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7380
I like this choice. There are a few factors that can make your gaming experience awesome, and I think this laptop offers them at a very reasonable price. Things like speed, screen size, and graphics come to mind. Another key factor would be upgradability, which is possible with this laptop.
Some possible negatives to consider right off the bat: this computer is large, heavy, and the power supply is gigantic. It's not the most portable laptop ever, but if that's not too important to you it will be fantastic.
Here are some things you can look forward to:
an Intel Core i5-2430M processor, 2.4 GHz. You can upgrade to 3.0 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology. It's got a 3MB L3 cache. It is configured with 6GB DDR3 1333MHz (max 8GB).
640GB (7200 RPM) serial ATA hard disk drive.
The display is pretty, too, with its 17.3" diagonal widescreen TruBrite TFT LED display (1600 x 900 native resolution) and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M card. It also comes with Windows 7 Home Premium.
I also like that it has 3 USB 2 ports and 1 USB 3. All the right specs for a nice gaming experience. One more thing to mention..... I happen to be a very visual person, and it doesn't hurt that this thing is a very handsome unit! I like the way it looks aesthetically, and I also am a fan of the backlit keys. Adds to the experience if you ask me.

What is the best laptop for audio editing under $2000?
Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A (Late 2011)
I would absolutely agree with Mia that this is the way to go. I feel like this computer was designed for this sort of thing specifically, and it will consistently deliver outstanding performance for you.
In this price range you can consider a 17 inch with slightly less 'guts' or a 15" that might be a little faster. Either way is a good way to go. The 17 inch will be awesome because audio editing software is quite complex and has a TON of stuff going on. There is some very intricate tweeking you will have to do, and a larger screen will definitely help facilitate that.
I do a little music recording and editing myself with my friends, and I have found that Macbooks run ProTools (my software of choice) incredibly well. Also, the beautiful clear display (LED-backlit, 1440-by-900 resolution) helps with those intricate adjustments.
Speed is also important of course, and with the i7 processor (2.4 GHz) and a 750GB 5400rpm hard drive you should be cruisin pretty quick.
As far as the difference in budgets, I think you will be happier with this compared to an $800 one, and you will certainly see a difference in speed and general performance. When you buy a Macbook Pro you are investing in your own future, as it will last a long time and work well the whole time. Definitely a good purchase.

What is the best laptop for DJing under $400?
  Acer Aspire AS5552-7677
I am actually quite surprised at this deal here. This is some great bang for your buck. I like Acer and they make a solid product. Just because it's cheap doesn't necessarily mean that it won't be great, it just won't have all the bells and whistles of a higher priced unit.
Like Robert said, a big difference you will see at this price point is battery life. You will definitely have to stay plugged in, but that shouldn't be a problem in a DJ situation, as obviously you will be running power to all of your equipment. Only expect about 2, 3 hours of battery life.
Beyond that, this is pretty competitive machine. It comes with a Phenom quad-core processor, a 15.6" widescreen display, so seeing your work will not be an issue, 4GB DDR3, and a 320 GB 5400 rpm hard drive...... plus more good stuff (check out the link) Maybe it's not anything to write home about, but it will certainly be good for basic DJ needs. It's also upgradable to 8GB.
It will run your DJ software no problem, as long as you take care of the machine and keep it in good working order.... like try to avoid putting too much material on there besides your DJ stuff, as you will probably notice it slow down. For $400 this is a great buy. You shouldn't have any problems with this machine.

What is the best laptop for video editing under $1500?
  Sony VAIO F2 Series VPCF237FX/B
Sony Vaio is one hell of a computer. Excellent for video editing or gaming. Too bad they are quite pricey!
I am very impressed with the specs on this machine and think you will be too. Things like the Intel Core i7 2.20GHz processor with turbo boost (up to 3.10GHz) and 6GB DDR3 (1333MHz) RAM are very appealing to me and will run video editing software very well indeed. Also comes with NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics with 1 GB of dedicated video memory.
You should look at the link and check out all the specs because it is quite impressive and I think you are getting a ton of power for the price.
Whether you are gaming, editing photos or videos, this will do the job and do it well.

What is the best laptop for video editing under $3000?
  HP Pavilion dv7t QE
I think this HP would be every bit as good as a Macbook. As far as I know, many professionals use Adobe Premiere Pro for their editing and this laptop will will run that program incredibly well. It has an Intel Core i7-2670QM with Turbo Boost that will get you up to 3.1 GHz. It also has a 12GB DDR3 system memory and a 750GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive.
Obviously screen size is at the top of the list of important features, and with the 1GB Radeon HD 6490M graphics your video will look spectacular.
Also comes with beats audio, so your music will also sound good.
This machine will definitely be able to handle all your editing and productivity needs.
As a side note, I think the Macbook Pro will also be an excellent choice, and I think it comes down to what software you want to run. Good luck!

What is the best laptop for travel under $1500?
  Lenovo U300s 108026U
This is one of my favorite PC laptops all around. It is excellent for travel and sort of matches up with the Macbook Air very closely. If you prefer Pcs to Macs this will be a good bet for you, and it will be a little cheaper than the Air at its base price.
What do I like about it? First of all, it is a very good looking machine. That's always important :)
It has a big SSD drive, 1.8 GHz Intel core processor, Integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics....definitely very competitive. And fast.
More importantly, it has a nice long battery life... right around 8 hours is what they claim. Obviously you won't always get 8, but probably count on about 6 or so.
Another great thing is that the body has a metal chassis, giving it some excellent durability. It's also incredibly thin, just 0.59” thick (and it weighs only 2.9 lbs.) How do they pack so much power into such a small computer??? Amazing.
Apparently it doesn't come with a bunch of unnecessary bloatware, which has nothing to do with travel but it's a nice feature.

What is the best laptop for travel under $3000?
  Sony VAIO VPC-Z212GX/B
Your hard drive, screen size, and processor are of course very important factors in considering which computer is right for you and your purposes. However, in my humble opinion, the absolute most important thing for a laptop that will set it apart from others and make it the most useful for you has to be battery life, right? I feel like this get overlooked a lot.
The very essence of your laptop is to have a portable device that you can take anywhere and use anywhere. Portability. That's why we buy them, right? But what good is it if you don't have any battery?
That is why I highly suggest this to you. You want the ultimate travel machine, but not necessarily for business use.
This laptop has good battery life. However, if you combine it with the $150 add-on slice battery that is available with this model, you will easily get about 634 minutes of use (with the internal battery and slice battery combined). Thats almost 11 hours, which is pretty fantastic.
As far as its other selling points you're looking at an Intel Core i5-2410M processor (at 2.30GHz) with turbo boost technology up to 2.90GHz, 4GB of RAM, a 128gb SSD, and an Intel HD graphics 3000 card. So, you know, watching movies and listening to music will be a pleasure.
As far as the 13" screen, I think it's perfect for travel. This means it will be light and easy to carry around. The 17" Macbook that Hanna suggested is an excellent suggestion, but personally I think that would be too much to carry around all the time. But that's just me.
The only thing I don't like about this Sony is holy moly they are expensive! But it sounds like you have the budget for it, so I think it's a great choice for you.

What is the best laptop for college under $1500?
  Lenovo ThinkPad W520 427637U
This would be an excellent choice for you. It's just amazing how much power they can slam into a laptop these days. I mean this this thing is a powerhouse.
Let's see, some important things to consider for this purchase would be durability (college can be rough on electronics), speed, power, dependability. I think this computer wil absolutely deliver on all those fronts. It's built with durability in mind, and should be solid as a rock (although I don't own this machine, but from what I have read durability is one of its attractive features.
It's got an Intel Quad core processor that can run all four cores at 3Ghz, so it will be blazingly fast. Gotta be fast to keep up!
Another nice feature is the screen is big and pretty, with a 15.6" full HD LED backlight, Intel HD graphics 3000, and an NVIDIA Quadro 1000M.
Nice specs all the way around that will enable you to stay ahead of the game, and durability to match.
Usually I would recommend a Mac, but I had one in college and had occasional compatibility problems with printing and assignments and stuff, so I say go PC.
At your price point you can get a wonderful computer with a ton of power, like this one. I think you will be very happy with it.
Good luck in school!

What is the best laptop for audio editing under $800?
  Acer AS5736Z-4460
Well I think this would be an excellent choice. There are obviously a lot of factors that go into picking the very best one for you, so there are lots of different things to consider.
Acers are fast and relatively inexpensive.
Some important things to consider are your hard drive, screen size, and the processor. Music files can be huge and your hard drive is going to be a really important factor in getting songs to load quickly. This one gives you a 320GB SATA hard drive which is a good starting point... you can always get yourself an external later if you need to. It also has a 2.3 GHZ Intel T4500 Dual-Core processor which will give you some nice performance. This computer also has a 15" screen which is very important for editing music. There are so many tracks and visualizers and small things on the screen that you really need some screen real estate, otherwise it will just be annoying. I have a 13" macbook and it's awesome, but running Pro Tools on it is a bit rough because the screen is just too small to get any decent work done!
Acer makes a fantastic product and I really think yo will be happy with it!

You could try Ghost Speaker.
It gathers and analyzes environmental readings all around you and tries to organize them with some sort of algorithm that "calculates possible energy values that might be a means of communication." It then processes that through a word translater to produce a word.
Not guaranteed to be a ghost, though! Could be anything, but it still sounds fun.

Anyone else like Vizio as much as I do? I think they make a wonderful television with a stunning picture. I haven't had any problems with mine (except the sound from it isn't very good - you would need your own speakers). But setting it up and using it could not have been any easier. And with a 120hz refresh rate, and 240hz scenes per second you're gonna have a nice clear picture all of the time, regardless of what's happening on screen.
Look into Vizio. I think you will be happy with their price to quality ratio.

I like this option.
Polk is a good company for sound. Ok so it won't be breathtaking, write-home-about-it quality, but it will fill up a room. And the sound will be clear and vibrant....at least that has been my experience with Polk. My brother has a Polk system of some sort (I don't know if it's this one or not) and I was really impressed by the sound, especially for what he paid.... about the same as these.
I think this company has a nice ratio of quality vs. price.... they have figured out the best quality sound they can produce for a reasonable price, and the result is a great little sound package.

  Breville 5- Quart Die-Cast Stand Mixer 14 x 9 x 15
This is what my parents use, and they seem to like it very much. They are really into cooking, and this came highly recommended from a chef friend of theirs.
Mixing is fully automated and timed, making it superbly easy to use. It's built tough, like mixers should be, and it shouldn't have any problems with mixing even the toughest doughs. It also looks quite fantastic, if I may say so.
I just wanted to mention something about the KitchenAid real quick..... these are great machines, but in recent years it seems they have been having some durability issues, like multiple broken gears or plastic parts splitting. At least, this happened to a number of people in reviews I have read. I guess they don't make 'em like they used to!

Ok so I am sort of a sucker for 'natural' and 'organic' products because I do think they are superior to processed foods, especially when we're talking about babies. The old cliche "you are what you eat" comes to mind. I wouldn't want to feed my baby anything that could have chemicals in it or was grown with pesticides or anything because that stuff doesn't belong in a baby's body.
So this is right up my ally. Similarly, this is one of the few products I have seen that has no corn syrup solids, another thing I wouldn't necessarily want my baby ingesting. This stuff uses brown rice syrup, something I can deal with.
Seems like a great healthy choice!

This is the one I have and I like it just fine. It prints, copies and scans just fine. I don't really ever have problems with it, although I don't use it all that often. It's good for occasional use I would say... not sure how it would hold up if you were using it a lot.
But the scanning function works really fast and gets you an accurate read.
Definitely a good printer. Small, inexpensive, and effective.

What is the best way to pack on a few healthy pounds this winter?
CytoSport Muscle Milk, Chocolate, 2.47 Pound
Muscle Milk is a great way to add on a few pounds. I wouldn't say it's particularly healthy, but it's not overly bad for you either. I have been drinking it for about a month and have definitely noticed a little bulk happening! I am similar to you, man.... very thin and in need of some bulk, especially when it starts to get cold.
I try to work out, too, because of course that is a big factor in adding muscle. I wouldn't recommend just trying to 'fatten up', you know? Definitely include some sort of work out routine. I use 'Perfect Push Ups'... those spinning push up enhancers. They make for an excellent work out. Cheap and effective, plus you can work a lot of different muscle groups with them. You won't be restricted to normal pushups.
Try to take in a lot of protein and a lot of calories. I would say a lot of physical activity as well as a lot of calories will help!
Muscle milk tastes okay at best.... so don't expect the best flavor in the world, but all protein supplements are similarly not tasty!
Good luck and stay warm!

I have heard that ddrum is a decent drum company, especially nice for a beginner kit.
I have also heard that while the drums are made well, the heads are not spectacular, so it would be in your best interest to invest in some new drum heads. I would say this is a pretty good price for full size kit.

Sorry, it is a little over your budget, but I think it's still a great deal at under $500.
You'll be able to take notes and play some games and browse the net and whatever.
It's got Windows 7 and an AMD Radeon HD graphics card, 500GB Hard Drive, 4GB DDR3.
You know, it's not like super fast or anything but it will certainly do what you want it it do.

It has some nice square shaped drawers for storage and some shelf space, too. Holds up to 75 lbs which should be good enough for a 60 inch plasma.

What is the best car alarm under $200?
These are some good brands to look at; Clifford, Viper, Code Alarm, Prestige. There's probably more, but those are some good ones. Clifford is probably the best, they are also very expensive.
Make sure you get one with a shock sensor (I think most have one anyway) and they are usually adjustable. Turn it all the way up to its most sensitive setting. It should pick up vibrations from a saw, should anyone try to pull that stunt on you again. Sorry about the misfortune!

Best noise reducing Headphones under $75?
  Sennheiser HD-280 PRO
I bought these like 5 years ago and they are still going strong, and are still some of my favorite headphones ever. Sennheiser really doesn't mess around with their audio quality. Everything in these headphones is exceptionally clear, low to high. They are a little on the small side but fairly comfortable.
As far as noise reduction, they are not true noise canceling headphones, more like passive noise canceling (because they surround your ears completely) but they do provide some noise insulation. I use them on planes and stuff and they block enough external sound to make my listening experience fantastic, all the time. Definitely $80 well spent.

Best camera for low light shoots under $500?
Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera + 16GB Accessory Kit
These are awesome for low light. They have a large image sensor an a nice bright lens.... all Canons have good lenses though. This one has a f/2.0 lens which is good for low light conditions (or shallow depth of field.)
The S95 is very sensitive to light, and in many ways shoots like a dslr. Very high image quality, especially for a compact size camera. Speaking of which, I like the compact size for camping, because for me less weight/bulk is better.
It has 3.8x optical zoom and can also record HD video, although it's at 720p. Video might be something really nice to have for unexpected camping surprises.
Anyway, I think this would be a great choice for you and have fun on your trip!!

Tv that I can also use as a monitor under $500
  Vizio E320VA
Well I would have to recommend the one I have, this Vizio. I think it is an excellent value. I like the size/price/performance ratio it offers. Like Aaron mentioned, you can use just about any LCD or Plasma screen as a monitor, this one included.
This TV is perfect for someone like me. I am not super into technology or gaming or anything like that, I just want a nice, sharp screen and a TV that works like it should without any hassle.
This one is big but not too big. The screen has a nice anti glare coating that doesn't distract from the image quality. All the menus are easy to navigate. I don't have mine connected to a home theater system, and so my only complaint is that the sound quality is a bit muddy during some dialogue, but I'm sure that if I did connect it to a home theater system it would take care of that problem.
Lots of connectivity with HDMI, USB, RF, RGB, spdif.... so yes you can use it as a monitor.
This TV is really a fantastic value. I suggest it for sure!

Best camcorder for filming live sports under $1000
Canon VIXIA HF100 Flash Memory High Definition Camcorder with 12x O...
I think this would be about the best thing you could find... this camera rocks.
Canon is a fantastic optical company, as I am sure you know, and any time you buy a Canon you are making a smart purchase!
It records in HD, has 12X zoom (with image stabilization), and utilizes a DIGIC DV II Image Processor, which ensures the highest optical quality whether you are shooting video or stills (which it can also do).
It's also got 24p Cinema mode, which essentially makes your video look more like a professional film than a camcorder recording....this feature will look especially cool with on your end of the year film.
Also has an HDMI terminal and uses a Lithium Ion battery.
I don't own this camera but my good friend does, who is way into film (he goes to school for it, actually) and he raves about it. The work I've seen him do with it looks amazing.
I have to recommend it! This will definitely not disappoint.

What is the best paintball gun for a beginner?
Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set
Okay so I don't know much about paintball, but I do know that you need a bunch of equipment to play... especially face protection and stuff. That's why I would recommend going with something like this. For $100 you get the gun, a helmet, Co2 cartridge, hopper, and a harness. So maybe the gun isn't the best one around, but for a beginner I would imagine it will do just fine.
If you're like me, you're probably not too keen on spending a bunch of money on something if you're not sure if it's gonna get used very much, so this is a good first set...a trial run if you will.

Most of the complaints about it were that it was a little on the slow side, as compared to some products that have as many negative reviews as positive ones, varying from 'complete system failure' to 'terrible software' to 'doesn't turn on anymore' and that sort of thing.
Bottom line, I can deal with a little lag time as long as it works.

I just want to say, Cassandra, that both the AKG and the Audio-Technica are great microphones. I've used the Audio-Technica a bunch (my roommate had that exact one and we used to record stuff all the time together when we were in music school) and it's awesome. best reader between Kindle and Nook?
I think the only way to decide which one is best for you is to actually try them both out. So here's what I suggest: go into a Barnes and Noble and play around with the Nook for a while...they will let you take one for a test ride in the store. Try everything on it... really try and get to know it!
Next, order a Kindle through Amazon. That's right, order one up. Play around with it for a while and see how it compares to the Nook. If you don't like it, you can send it right back with no shipping or restocking fees. Amazon is amazing with that sort of thing.
I could sit here and tell you all the specs of each machine, but there's no substitute for actually trying them out and getting a feel for them.
Both are good though! Either way you'll be in good shape.

I need a super portable printer (for a macbook) that I can take with me in a suitcase
  HP Officejet 100
I think this would be an excellent choice for portability. It weight only 8.2 lbs... small and light.
It can also run on batteries and has wireless printing which is pretty great.
I think the fact that it can run on batteries is especially cool. Says you can print up to 500 pages on a full charge, which is impressive. It has a lithium ion battery.
Usually I would say go for the Canon, but this printer looks like it was designed particularly well.
Two things to point out that I noticed are that 1) there is no paper catch tray (oh well, no big deal) and 2) the ink cartridges are small... so stock up!
Also, I don't think it's very fast.
But it is certainly portable to the max, so for that reasons I say go for it!

Opinion on Samsung UN55D8000 TV?
Ha ha I have had my eye on this TV for MONTHS now because I think it looks like the coolest TV ever. I guess they got me with their advertising techniques! The thin frame looks really good.
So I was definitely disappointed when I started reading reviews saying that there are screen issues with some of these TVs. It seems like some of them work well, but some of them have image problems like a 'white halo' across the bottom of the screen. Also some people complain about inconsistant colors between the right and left side of the screen.
I think if you get a good one it will be excellent, but if you get a crappy one you will have to send it back.
Sounds like quality control issues.
Unfortunately, I have decided that I will look for a TV that is more reliable, because that is important to me. This is sad to me because I wanted to love this TV!

what is the best electric leaf blower?
  Earthwise CB20018 18-Volt Cordless Blower
I would also recommend a cordless, unless of course you have some serious, heavy duty leaf clearing to do. This is the one my parents have and they use it for clearing the walkway and back deck, and that's about it. It's great for small jobs, like under 15 minutes I would say.
I used to help out my neighbors with their leaves, and they had a corded leaf blower. It certainly had more power and moved a lot more air than a cordless, but it was really annoying having to find new outlets all the time...probably doubled the time it took to do the job. That's why I like cordless.

The only thing is you need to either buy or build some sort of surface to hang it on, or every dart that misses the board will create a nice new hole in your wall, which is not ideal.
I think this would be really cool. Plus, it gives you something to do on Christmas day.

What is a good inflatable mattress that fills quickly and won't pop?
AeroBed Sleep Basics Elevated Queen Bed
I have this exact bed except in a light blue color. I keep it at my apartment for visitors and thus far it has been perfect. The bed, pump, and a cover sheet all fit in the included bag which is very convenient. My guests like that it's two layers.... pretty comfy actually! It might be more comfortable than the bed I sleep in every night!
It inflates full in less than ten minutes. Make sure you over inflate it, because it will lose a small amount of air during the night (at least mine does) but it's a very small amount and isn't annoying or anything. It also deflates quickly, using the pump (it doesn't deflate passively, it actually sucks the air out fast).
The only thing I can complain about is the pump is rather loud. This is only a problem because I live in an apartment and late-night inflating could wake the neighbors... I just have to remember to pre-inflate.
I recommend it though because it's pretty quick to inflate and has no leaks after about a year of occasional use.

What is the best wireless in-ear monitor system for singing on stage?
Audio-Technica M2 In Ear Monitor at zZounds
I think the Shure system that Destinee recommended is an excellent system. You will definitely be happy with it, and like she said it will be durable.
This Audio-Technica system is what the lead singer in my band used for the couple years I played with him... I talked to him about them and I know he thought they were awesome. We played pretty complex jazz/pop stuff and it was nice for him to really be able to hear himself over it all. He also mentioned that it's awesome to have your own personalized mix.... you can control all the levels in your mix and also separate lines between right and left to make it perfect for you.

A couple general things I noticed when he started using this set up, things to watch out for:
first of all, he immediately started turning himself way up in the house mix... probably because he just couldn't hear what was going on around him as well, and became less sensitive to the actual sound on stage (like he got in his own little world). Also.... and this is no fault of the unit.... we would always start playing waaaaay later than we were supposed to because he always underestimated he time it took to get comfortably set up with the in ears....also he would forget to change the batteries and stuff, adding to the delay.
Basically just be smart about it and don't let them change the way you play!

Hmmmmm that's a tough one because it's an old model. But, I think as long as you buy one that is the right size, the exact model doesn't matter. It just needs to fit infront of the intake, and make a decent seal around it. What size was the filter that you took out of it? I would just go to Home Depot and buy a decent filter that is the same size. That should work... just don't buy the cheapest one! Sometimes they are pretty crappy.

Honestly though, it's not for me. I like the whole routine of making coffee - I feel like that's part of the experience, you know? Grinding the beans, enjoying the aromas, waiting for it to brew in anticipation. But I guess sometimes I wish I could just push a button and voila! coffee is ready.

I think this would be a fun game for a ten year old and the whole family, too. You have to build the structures for each 'level' as you go.... there are cards to show you how to assemble each structure. Then start launching birds!!
The only annoying part, it seems, is that you must rebuild after every game. Maybe if you all take turns it won't be so bad!

The connection point between the unit and your phone is a little finicky, almost delicate, so be gentle with it.

What is the best monitor for mac mini 2011?
  Apple Thunderbolt MC914LL/A
If you want something really spectacular you've got to check out the Thunderbolt Display. Fantastic monitor....I don't have one but I have seen them and they are REALLY nice. And REALLY expensive.
It has a large, 27" display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, and LED backlighting. It's also got an IPS display - the same as an iPad - so the screen looks equally vivd and beautiful from just about any angle you look at it..... you don't have to be right in front.
I guess there is a lot of glare with this monitor, something that may be annoying, but usually a little research will yield a way to overcome this problem.
If you can afford it, definitely look into this thing. It will give you years and years of use.

It's about as close as you can get to grilling outdoors, without the smoke and flame. Unfortunately, because there is no smoke or flame, it won't be quite as tasty as a real grill... but hey, you can't win them all!
It's got a fairly large non-stick surface, so you should be able to cook for 4 or 5 people I would guess. Non-stick is awesome and will make it very easy to clean.
Not as good as outdoors, but better than nothing.

What is the best laptop cooling pad for a 17" laptop?
Targus Lap Chill Mat AWE55US (Black/Gray)
This one is powered by USB and runs very quietly. It is designed for resting on your lap, and even has nice soft material underneath so it's comfortable feeling. It does a really great job at moving air, and keeps my laptop cool, even after hours of use. It's a well designed laptop cooler - highly recommended because it does exactly what it's supposed to do!

It has a large touchscreen display, complete with a backlight and switch.

What is the best tablet for college?
I think you should go with a rebuilt ipad. In my opinion iPads still rule the tablet world. More apps, better usability (to me at least). You should be able to get a very reasonably priced rebuilt one.
You can get iBooks for reading .pdf files and Penultimate for note taking. That's a great setup for school.
I think a tablet is a good buy instead of a laptop, because I think the market is headed in that way anyways.

What is the best portable printer for college?
  Canon PIXMA MP495
I have a different Canon printer and it is fantastic, so I imagine this one would be good as well. I think this is an excellent price for the high quality prints that you will get.
You can also copy and scan, which you will probably find very useful in school.
For $50 you can't really go wrong with a Canon....except for one thing: ink will be expensive!!!! I know from experience!
So assuming you aren't printing an extremely large volume of documents, I think you will be happy with the value and quality of this printer.

samsung galaxy tab or ipad2?
DeviceGuru » Tablet smackdown: Galaxy Tab 10.1 vs. iPad 2
I have been curious about this too, Eric. You should check out the website I posted above..... it's a great comparison of the two... although I would say the author is a little biased towards the galaxy. In a nutshell, while being very similar to each other, there are some subtle differences between the two products that you should consider.
The android OS appears to be a little more flexible in terms of personalizing your tablet experience, whereas Ipad has a very rigid design.... all Ipads are basically identical through and through, and can't run things like Adobe flash. I think this is the first tablet to rival, and possibly even outperform the iPad in many ways. In fact, I might even go as far as to say that it is a better purchase than the ipad because of it's flexibility, and this is unusual for me because I am usually a big apple fan.
Either way you will be happy! I would try to think about what exactly you want to be able to do on your tablet, and match up the best one to those specifications...check out the comparison chart on this website....pretty interesting.

looking for a solid cheap laptop
Acer Aspire One AO722-BZ454 11.6-Inch HD Netbook (Espresso Black)
This is the one I would recommend to you. I would say it's solid in terms of performance, although I cannot comment on its durability. It will be pretty fast, and as long as you don't need it for any serious performance (graphic design, music production, serious gaming) it will perfect for you.
The only downsides I can see here are A) it only has 2 gb ram (you can upgrade if you want) and, B) The screen is kind of small.
But all around, it's a solid, cheap laptop!

Seems like Norton is always ranked really high among antivirus and anti spyware. This should be some great security for you, and it's reasonably priced. I think upgrading on Norton is free, so it might be cheaper to buy an older version like 4.0 and do the free upgrades!
There is a subscription renewal fee yearly, which if I am correct is a little steep, although I am not sure of the exact price on that. Also has parental controls. This will give you full coverage... definitely a good security purchase.

Dog training pee spray to stop my dog from peeing on my curtains?
Tolco Empty Spray Bottle 8 oz. Frosted Assorted Colors
As I looked around the net for such a product, I noticed that all such products got terrible reviews and don't seem to work at all. I don't think a spray itself will cure the problem. So, I would suggest a little owner involvement.
Get yourself a spray bottle and fill it with water. Next time your pooch tries to pee on your curtain, spray him in the face with your water bottle! (This will make him stop for sure) then immediately say NO! (no hitting is necessary!) and take him outside so he can pee out there. Of course reward him for peeing outside.
I know this only works if you are around when he starts to pee, but I can't think of an other way to do it. This is how we have trained puppies in the past and it seems to work pretty well.
Good luck! I know how difficult this can be!

What is the best portable projector for presentations?
  Optoma PK301 Pico Pocket Projector
If you want something REALLY portable - -like pocket portable - - check out this little guy. Ok, it's small, but portability usually comes in small packages! It's designed for small group presentations, and I imagine that's what you want it for, or you wouldn't be asking for a portable one, right?
It will project up to 120" in focus, which is perfect for a small room with not many people in it... say under 10 people will be able to really see the image clearly. If you need something more industrious lok elsewhere, but for the ultimate in portability, look no further!

You should buy the app Print-n-Share on your iPad, and you will have no problem printing on this high quality, all-in-one printer. Might as well get an all-in-one as far as I'm concerned, because more than likely you will need to do some copying or scanning at some point.

This one specifically is excellent for Pro Tools because the screen is so big. The bigger, the better! There is much detail on any recording software that you really have to have a large screen in order to successfully and quickly navigate and edit.
It comes with 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM and a 1tb hard drive, so it should be enough computing power to record and edit, no problem.

best tablet for business 2012?
ASUS Eee Slate B121-A1 12.1-Inch Tablet PC - White
I think this is truly the best tablet for all business needs. It is fantastic for multi tasking and easy to interact with due to its large 12" screen.
It actually functions more like a pc than a tablet. Some of its specs include a 64gb solid state drive, an intel core i5-470UM CPU, Windows 7 Home Premium OS, 4GB of DDR3.... sounds like a laptop to me!
One thing you may not like is the crappy battery life... might only get around 3 hours.
This always baffles my mind when these super portable devices have such a short battery life. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of making it so portable? Other than that, this thing is awesome. Power power power!

best keyboard for ipad 2?

These are very popular and they work very well with iPad 2. Easy to use, makes for a nice little laptop-esqe setup that also doubles as a case. It is also iPad 2 specific, so there are some nice shortcuts right on the keyboard.
The thing with these, however, is that since it doubles as a case, it's a bit smaller than your average keyboard. It has to be like this to fit the dimensions of the iPad. This may or may not be an issue to you, but should be brought to your attention either way.

What is the best blu-ray player for picture quality?
LG BD570 Network Blu-ray Disc Player
Hi there.... I wanted to add my 2 cents here. As long as you use an HDMI cable to connect it to your TV, all Blu Ray players will be about the same in terms of picture quality. Instead, I would look at some other features you may want. And make sure you think about features you will actually use. For example, this LG is amazing....it has so many features it's almost like the Blu Ray part is an after thought (it's not though... don't worry). It has 1gb memory for wireless networking so you can watch Netflix, YouTube, listen to Pandora, etc. All of these things are awesome, but only if you plan on using them a bunch, because they do come at an extra cost!
As far as picture quality, you will get full HD 1080p output via HDMI, so the picture quality will leave nothing to be desired.
Hope this helps...good luck in your search!

It's basically like an 8.5 X 11 photo. The finish is glossy and shiny, but it's also porous so it dries incredibly fast. It feels like a photograph in its weight, too... the paper is thick and heavy and just by holding the paper you can tell it's a high quality product.

What is the best tablet for kids?
  LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer Learning Tablet
I'm not sure what age these kids are, but this would be another option for you to consider. This tablet is designed for kids age 4-9 and has some cool features, although it's not perfect.
It has a little 5" touchscreen that can be manipulated with your fingers or the included stylus. It has educational games, books, videos, and even a camera to take pictures of yourself.
It has 2gb of memory....enough to buy some apps and games and books and stuff. You purchase this stuff online and dump it right onto the unit via USB.
This is one of the problems with this thing. It comes with four apps: Pet Pad, Story Studio, Art Studio, and one app of your choice. The rest of the games have to purchased online, and are a bit expensive - upwards of 7, 8 bucks. This is kind of steep, considering that it's not usable anywhere but on the LeapPad. For example, if you bought a REAL book, it woud be around forever, and other people could enjoy it too. But $7 for a LeapPad book gets you something that your kid might read once or twice and then it will just sit forever in the LeapPad brain.
But it is fun, and somewhat educational (if you get the right books/games) so it seems like a nice purchase, rather than going all out for an iPad. Worth looking into at least!

What is the best tablet for business presentations?
ASUS Eee Slate EP121-1A010M 12.1-Inch Tablet PC
For a business presentation you will need something that is not only powerful enough to get the job done, but big enough to make seeing it and using it easy. I present the Asus Eee slate!
This thing has a massive screen at 12.1 inches. Seeing your work clearly will not be a problem. Also, with a dual Intel Core i5 processor and capable of up to 4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM, multi tasking will be no problem - a feature you won't find on most tablets. This tablet is more like a computer than a tablet!
It runs on Windows 7 home premium, which is good and bad. It's good because Windows 7 home premium is a nice program with a lot of options and power for businessmen/women. The problem herein is that Windows 7 was not originally designed to be used with a touchpad, so some operations are less than intuitive.
All around, this thing is a real workhorse...definitely worth a look!

What is the best bike lock?
Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 Standard Bicycle U-Lock with Bracket ...
These are awesome. Very tough, but they do some inherent problems. The keys that come with it are very fragile! They have the tendency to break off inside as you try to unlock it. Poor design in that regard. However, they are some of the toughest locks you can buy, up there with a straight up thick metal chain.
I do have to say that any determined crook could still cut through this thing in mere seconds with the proper power tool. I don't think there is a product on the market today that completely secures your bike 100%.
Chicago is really bad about this - bikes get stolen all the time! The only way around it is to ride a crappy bike that no one wants to steal!

What is the best TV that will not die a rapid demise It will be used as a TV or to watch movies 95% of the time. under $500?
I don't have a specific TV to recommend... just make sure to buy a brand name that you recognize and that has a good reputation. There are a couple things you can do to get the most out of your TV, though, such as:
Buy one with a decent warranty. Most TV's will offer you a 1 year one manufacturer's warranty, but some offer a longer one. Also, some companies will offer you an extended warranty, which may be a good option for you. However, statistics do show that most TV's do not need repair during the time they are under warranty... so really think about it!
Another good thing to do is make sure you have a surge protector plug. This is crucial! It could be the difference between life and death.
Also, just in general try to treat your TV like an investment (because it is) and treat it well. This includes cleaning it properly and being gentle wit it!
Hope this helps :)

Rheem certainly makes a high quality furnace. I am not an expert of furnaces whatsoever, but mine is getting a little old and may need upgrading soon, so this question caught my attention.
According to furnacereviews.net, "Rheem furnaces in consumer reviews are one of the most reliable and least repaired furnaces on the market."
I also see that they have an insulated blower compartment, which of course means it's extra quiet.
It seems that any negative review I read online usually turned out to be a user error.... like not cleaning the sensor or changing the filter.
Sounds like a quality product!

This looks like a decent speaker package for you. It's got a nice big woofer and a bunch of little satellite speakers. I would recommend this for small rooms.... it won't fill up a large room, but certainly will sound pretty nice in a 'normal' sized living room.

Best midsize car under $20,000
I would suggest a Toyota Camry. My mom drives one.... I helped her pick it out off the lot. She decided to go with a manual transmission and I think it was right around 17, 18 grand, brand new.
It is a very nice car. The manual tranny is so smooth it practically drives itself. It's a pretty large car, so there is lots of space inside, but it still gets fantastic gas mileage..... although I don't know exactly what it gets.
The only negative thing can think of with this car is the bumpers. They are pretty delicate! They smash up pretty easily, but I would say most new cars have similar technology on the bumper. Designed to take all the impact so you don't feel it in the car as much.
All around it's a great vehicle!

It has everything. 1080p, 3D capable, about 1.4 bajillion inputs, and it's sleek as hell. I'm personally not super into the whole 3D thing, but I have heard that on a nice TV such as this one it's pretty spectacular, and the image absolutely pops out, just like in the theater....except here you're even closer to the action!
Oh yeah it's also internet ready. What a TV! I want one.

Out of the Dorcy led's I would personally go with this one, mostly because of the aluminum body. But also because I like the small size. Led's are super bright, so a small one should produce enough light for your general use.
This one gets up to 6 hours of battery life off 3 AAA's, which is pretty darn good. It also has a battery life indicator light to help you decide when you need some new batts.

Should I buy a 55" TV or go with a 46"?
I totally agree with Kurt. If the bigger one is in your budget and it is something you want, get it! Especially with $400 off. That's a very large portion of the cost.
However, 8 - 10 feet is not much space, and I think the 46" would fill up that area rather well, also. I have about that much space between my couch and TV and I have a 36" vizio. I have never once thought "I wish my tv was bigger".

Dell streak 7'' tablet any good?
I don't own one so I am speaking purely from my experience with other tablets and what I have read online about this one when I say I think there are better options out there! I think this tablet will be okay and do everything pretty well, but it doesn't look all that impressive to me, especially for 270 bucks, or right around there.
First of all, screen size.... 7" is quite small as far as I'm concerned. It's like in between a tablet and a phone. The small size means it won't be great for viewing videos (the 800 x 480p res. won't help either), and typing will just be obnoxious.... at least it would be for me.
The real killer though is in the battery. It's not replaceable! And, as I have gathered from reviews, a full charge will yield only about 2-3 hours of use, which is pretty lousy. Add the fact that the power cord is really short and you might find yourself attached to the wall to use this supposedly ultra portable device.
For something similar that will give you better performance I would consider the Galaxy Tab, or the really cool choice right now (I think) would be the Kindle Fire, but I don't know if that can do all the things you would want from a tablet.
Like I said, it's not that this tablet is horrible, and I'm sure you will get some good use out of it. I just want you to be aware of it and it's flaws as well as its positive values.

Your thoughts on KVAR Energy Contollers or Go Green Electric System Optimizers - for reducing household power consumption
Hmmm I had not heard of these before now but it seems like a solid investment.
I was looking at the KVAR website and it says on there that they guarantee a minimum 6% savings on your electric bill, for residential controllers. Obviously this will, in time, pay for itself... although it will take a while.
It works by reclaiming, saving, and supplying power to inductive motors and loads, according to their site. I guess it stores enough reactive power to create the EMP's that are necessary to ground the induction winding in the motor. Basically, it stores power that would otherwise be wasted. Very cool idea, and they guarantee savings. I think it would be worth figuring out what 6% of your bill is month by month and figuring out if it's gonna pay for itself any time soon!
Also, it's earth friendly! Always a good thing.

The bass will probably lack somewhat in clarity, the highs maybe a bit piercing, but that's sort of how it goes at this price range.... Best Camping Tent ?
Marmot Limelight 2 Person Tent - Pale Pumpkin/Terra Cotta
Alright man I know you said no poles, but this tent could not be easier to set up... it only involves 3 poles, and after you set it up once you will be able to do it in minutes flat..... like 2 or 3 minutes.
It doesn't have those awful tubes of fabric that you have to slide the poles through. You can see by the picture that it's more like a little loop that you slide the pole through. Very easy indeed.
It is very lightweight, and though I've never taken it backpacking I know that I could, considering how light it is.
It has a rain cover, too, although I wouldn't say it blocks sun very well. The whole thing is orange, so direct sunlight tends to light it up a bit... but isn't that part of the joy of camping? Waking up painfully early?
Another nice feature you get with a slightly more expensive tent like this is the stakes are made of a sturdy aluminum, not cheap plastic like some other cheapies I've owned.
All in all it's very sturdy... nice design makes the most out of the 3 poles.
Also has a 'vestibule'.
I definitely recommend this tent. I have gotten a lot of good use out of it and I'm sure you will too!

What are the best all-in-one printers?

This is a helluva deal on a wireless all in one printer. What makes it so attractive to me is the easy set up. The setup CD makes setting it up super easy (very clear directions and easy steps), which is awesome for people like me who are technology illiterate.
You can set up multiple computers to print on it wirelessly from anywhere in your house. Also, the ink refills are reasonably priced.
One thing I have noticed is right when it starts printing it's pretty slow... like it takes a minute to get going. Overall it's a bit on the slow side, but not enough to make it not worth buying.

I think this looks like a nice option for you. If I were to buy an electric blanket, this would be the one because I like the features it offers.
First of all, it's made of a micro-fleece fabric which sounds delightfully soft, and is machine washable and dryable.
It uses very low voltage which is not only an excellent safety feature, but will save you money on electricity. It also has an auto safety shut-off.
It also has an ultra thin wire that spreads heat evenly throughout the blanket, so there are no annoying cold spots. The whole thing should be toasty warm for ya.
Looks nice! Check it out!

does bubble wrap-reflective insulation damage roofing shingles
If I understand your question correctly, you are installing insulation between the roof rafters in your ceiling, and you want to know if it will create too much heat, that will damage your shingles?
If I am understanding your question right, then the answer is no - it won't do any damage to your shingles. It certainly won't create too much heat for them.
I've worked on roofes in Phoenix in the summer where it was literally 180 degrees on the roof and the shingles were okay. They become slightly more malleable as the tar in them heats up, but they don't break down or anything. If you walk around on the shingles too much when they are hot they might rip slightly, so I would advise against that. But there is no way your house will get so hot from the inside that it will ruin your shingles, regardless of what insulation yo use.
Hope I answered your question!

What is the best nail gun under $200?
  Porter-Cable FR350A Round Head 2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer
My dad was a carpenter for years (until he ruined his wrist and got a job at the post office...) and this was the gun he used. I used to help him with all sorts of projects, from building houses to decks to framing - this nail gun always performed well for us.
I like the easy load nails.... the bypass nail pusher system makes loading the 64 nail magazine super quick, so you can keep on working.
It has plenty of power for framing, decking and whatever.
There came a time (after years of use) that the connectors sort of loosened up, and there was a bit of air leakage from the connection point at the gun and the air compressor. I think this is fairly normal after a couple years of consistent use, and a new hose/connector really helped fix that problem.
Good gun.... it won't let you down!!

My lower back hurts all the time from sleeping on it wrong... besides buying a new mattress, what can I do to alleviate the pain?
Stretching out your lower back would help immensely. I know if I sleep on my stomach too long my lower back will hurt the next day, because it creates a bad angle between my back and my pelvis. It's hard to control how I sleep, so I rely on a lot of stretching the next day to help me deal with the pain.
I'll try to explain to you my favorite stretch...
sit on the floor, with your butt on your feet, knees in front, and reach out in front of you as far as you can (as if you were praying to mecca!) hold that position for a while. Come out of the stretch slowly, and then repeat as many times as you want. Make sure you hold the position for a while or it won't be as effective.
Hope this is a little more helpful than saying 'take some ibu profin!'

I have heard that rubbing alcohol will help. Blot gently with a rag, then with some water. However, if it's from a permanent marker, it might not ever come out all the way. That stuff is called permanent for a reason!
Another thing to try is grabbing your scissors, and very carefully cutting out some of the marked area. Not too much! But, like on the carpet, cut some of the tips off the little pieces.... that might help a little!

I recommend it because if you are cleaning window panes you might as well use a glass cleaner. That way you can just spray the whole thing and clean it all up at one time, with one product.
This stuff is quite powerful, and is also antibacterial. Seems like it would power through some mold to me!

best oil for my Expedition that will make it go longer without oil changes?
  Mobil 1 94001 Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil - 1 Quart, Pack of 6
You might want to look into synthetics, like this one. Synthetic oil can be a good substitution for regular oil on higher mileage cars, or cars that operate at a higher performance level.
Synthetics are good because they can operate at extreme temperatures much better than regular oil. They are also more viscous than conventional oil, which should make your engine run smoother all the way around and be more efficient. It should go longer between oil changes.
The drawback with synthetics is that once you start using it in your engine, you don't want to go back to regular oil. The reason is that the synthetic stuff is much more 'slippery' and higher quality than the regular stuff, and your engine will sort of get used to the high viscosity of the synthetic oil. This will make going back to regular oil a problem. Your engine will adapt to the high viscosity oil, so putting regular oil in it would be like drinking Sutter Home when you're used to Domaine Romanée-Conti.... it just won't work!

It doesn't have a huge tank, but that doesn't concern me one bit. It's not like I'm vacuuming up massive amounts of debris and don't have anywhere to dump it!

This is the best idea for travel I have seen in a very long time. I need to get one of these! A suitcase that is also a backpack. Yes please!
You pack it up just like a carry on suitcase, and it appears to have a nice amount of room, comparable to most carry ons I've seen. I hate wheeling suitcases around the airport, mostly because I'm pretty tall and I have to lean over to do it. This is a great alternative. Way easier!
Great idea.... I think we both need one of these.

What is the best way to polish leather boots?
Allen Edmonds Men's Premium Shoe Polish ,Black,No Size
This is the best shoe polish I've found. The price is a little steep, but I think it's worth it because it leaves a beautiful shine.
Make sure you are using the right techniques when you polish, and it's also a good idea to have the right tools, like the correct buffing brushes.

What is the best space heater under $150?
Lasko 754200 Ceramic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat
I think this would be a great option for you. It's small yet powerful, performs at a low setting of 900w and a high of 1500w. Ceramic technology ensures even heat distribution throughout.
These little guys really crank! I've used them before. Great for heating small rooms.
Seems like it might be a little on the loud side, but it won't be too bad.
Definitely worth it if you ask me!

What is the best tambourine for folk music?
  Pulse Pro Tambourine Black
I would think this would be a great option for you. It's not professional quality, but I don't think that's what you are looking for... right?
It's pretty cool looking, with two rows of jingles in there. It's got an open design with no head, so keep that in mind. It will be easier to hold and shake, but you won't be able to hit it on the head for a drum type sound - shouldn't be a problem unless you need it for that specifically.

Looking for a mattress topper that will help me sleep better. under $100?
Sleep Studio 2-Inch ViscO2 Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper, ...
My girlfriend got me one of these for my birthday, and for the most part I really like it. It's incredibly comfortable, and made my cheapy mattress 1000X more comfortable. It's like sleeping on a cloud or something... it just cradles you to sleep! For that, I am very thankful!
However, when it's hot out, this thing really cooks. It doesn't circulate air very well underneath it, so it gets pretty hot sometimes.
Overall I am glad she bought it for me, because I do sleep a lot better than without it. Just hot sometimes, that's all!

I want to build a really small porch in the back of my urban four plex. Any advice?
Do you know much about construction? Are you going to build it yourself, or hire someone? Because even a very small deck can get very expensive, very fast. I used to do a lot of construction with my dad, and I was always amazed by how quickly the projects got more and more expensive. When you think about labor costs (at least 30/hr), all the lumber and hardware and stuff, it adds up quick.
A lot of labor goes into a small porch because you have to dig holes to pour some concrete foundations, otherwise the thing won't be up to code. And there's another expense - legal fees, because you probably will need a permit, even for a small porch (unless you want to do it under the radar, in which case more power to ya!).
One more thing to consider is clearing it with the landlord, unless you own the building. A porch is very much a permanent thing, and might not be something your landlord is into.
Sorry to bring up all these negative things, I'm just trying to keep it real and let you know what you're getting into.
I love the idea of putting a porch in.... i love porches. They add so much character and useable space! Good luck!

What's the best dual iPad and iPhone dock with speakers under $100?
iLuv iMM747 Audio Cube Hi-Fidelity Speaker Dock for 2nd Generation ...
I would recommend this iLuv system, Steven. For your price point I think it's the best unit you will find. The sound may not be outstanding, but at this price you really can't expect too too much.
I wouldn't use this system as my main sound system for my whole house, but for my bedroom or kitchen it would be perfect.
The big problem with iPad docks seems to be supporting the iPad enough to where it won't bounce around when you use the touch screen. Many other products I've read reviews on seem to have this problem. This one, however, shouldn't be a problem.

What is the best tree branch clipper?
Black & Decker NPP2018 18-Volt Cordless Electric Pole Chain Saw
This is what I would suggest to you. A mini chainsaw on the end of a pole! Danger. Seriously, when you look at it, the thing seems inherently dangerous! A long pole with an unguarded blade at the end, that you hold up above you to chop down limbs that may fall on you! AAahhh. Just be careful!
Nice design, though. I would imagine this thing could really zip through some branches with minimal effort. You will get about 15 minutes of straight cutting time with it (on smaller branches, like an inch to an inch and a half thick) which is actually pretty good, as you can get through a ton of branches in that time.

Where to buy good math books for first graders?
it's pretty hard to find math books for 1st graders! the best i could find was probably amazon, although textbooks.com had a few, as well. you can also print off worksheets from the internet for practice, which is what I would suggest.
in 1st grade you are dealing with some very simple mathematics, so you could probably explain everything without a book, just using the worksheets.

Any predictions on what the most popular kids' Christmas present is gonna be this year?

What do you think about the Kindle fire? Worth the extra cash?
I think it depends on what an internet connection is worth to you. You can browse the web with this guy, almost like an iPad. If you already have an iPad or even an iTouch, then it may not be worth it, However, if you don't have any other portable internet source then I would say it's absolutely worth it!

  KitchenAid KFPW760WH 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, White
This is the one my parents have and I use it occasionally when I am home.
I think it is an excellent food processor.
It has a bunch of different blade choices, depending on how you want things cut. It has a large, 12 cup bowl.
Clean up is easy, as it all comes apart to wash, and the base wipes off in one second flat.
Good machine! The price vs. quality is just right.

Hi Gretchen... I am no expert on hair stuff whatsoever, but my girlfriend is a professional stylist at a very swanky salon, and she swears by this thing. She says it's the best hair dryer EVER. She had to buy it when she went to cosmetology school (at an Aveda Institute) and they made everyone buy this type. Apparently it's the best!
Hope this helps!

What is the easiest house plant to keep alive?
Philodendrons are what my mom grows in her house. She is terrible with plants, but always manages to have like 5 or 6 of these floating around her house, perfectly healthy.
They grow a lot and will keep spreading and growing until you snip it. You can then plant the snippings if you want... the reason my mom has so many of them!

what's the best place to ski
Try the Arizona Snow Bowl in Flagstaff, Arizona!!! It's not the best ever, but it's where I grew up and it's pretty awesome... breathtaking views. The summit is 12,633 feet - it's the tallest point in AZ.
It doesn't have as many runs as some of the bigger resorts like Telluride, but it's also less expensive and less crowded.
Watch out, though, you gotta make sure you go in Jan or Feb because it's Arizona and precipitation is sometimes hard to come by!
Some really awesome and challenging black diamonds. It's a great mountain!! Definitely worth a trip.

What are the best clippers for trimming my beard?
Remington MB-200 Titanium Mustache and Beard Trimmer
this is a great trimmer! i bought mine like 3 years ago and it still does the job perfectly every time. i like to keep my beard trimmed very close, but i HATE shaving so I use these to get as close as i can without shaving and keep that rough stubble look that my girlfriend likes so much.
mind you, i don't have thick/coarse hair and only use it about 2X a week, so i probably get more longevity that someone who would need to use it every day. but as of now, don't have any complaints. has a bunch of different length setting and attachments for different needs. doesn't hold a charge super long, so make sure you charge after every use, i would say.
doesn't stand upright to charge, just lays on its side. doesn't bother me though.

50 Favorite Hikes: Flagstaff & Sedona
I grew up in Flagstaff and my mom had this book. She would take my brother and I out all summer long to different hikes in this book, and every single one of them was memorable. This guy lived in Flag for like 25 years before he wrote this book, so it's very accurate and detailed, including specific tips and observations about every trail. This is a great trail companion, and a great inside look at Northern Arizona.

What is the best climbing crash pad?
Metolius Boss Hogg Crash Pad (Blue)
As far as the perfect crash pad goes, I think this might be it. It's really big but not over bearing or immoveable. It folds up suitcase style for easy transport in your vehicle. The aluminium buckles have a lifetime guarantee. it has handles and a padded shoulder strap, and the two different layers of foam team up for the ultimate fall stopping technology, as the first layer has some give and the next really stops you. An amazing crash pad for the avid boulderer!

What is the best jazz album for a new jazz listener?
  River: The Joni Letters
If you are into jazz with vocals, you need to check out this Grammy winning album. It is so incredibly beautiful and heart warming AND heart wrenching. Legendary jazz pianist Herbie Hancock leads the way, joined by such singers as Tina Turner, Corinne Bailey Rae, Leonard Cohen, and Norah Jones (just to name a few) and a ridiculous band that includes Wayne Shorter. They have arranged and rearranged a bunch of Joni Mitchell songs into some completely fresh ideas. I love this album and highly recommend it to the jazz enthusiast as well as beginner.
