Well for business, there are some very specific things that you might need, such as a keyboard or a larger screen, not to mention the use of ports to connect to TVs or other devices. This laptop/tablet runs Windows, converts from laptop to tablet to Android slate, and has a 10 inch screen. It would be perfect for traveling or general business. It's powerful and fast, everything that you'll need.

I think if I had a chance to buy any tablet on the market and money was not a factor, this is the tablet I would get, except maybe the version with 32GB. It is a beautiful package, comes with a 10 inch screen, is super fast, has so many apps to choose from, a great library for organizing and downloading movies, music, books, etc. The browser is so easy to use and the battery life is outstanding with 10 or so hours of life. This is definitely the way to go.

This is definitely the best tablet to buy on a budget. It has a pretty impressive store where you can build your collection of music, video, magazines, books, apps, etc. It has a good web browser, access to Netflix, Pandora, and Hulu, and decent screen quality. Not to mention the most affordable price tag. Because of the price, however, it does lack a few features that some might find necessary such as 3G wireless, cameras, GPS, etc. The other thing that people not find appealing is its storage space which is only 8GB. All in all, however, it is perfect for entertainment and is a great value.

I am in definite agreement with Bobby, this is the very best tablet on the market. It is super thin and very light. It comes with a front and rear camera for FaceTime and HD video recording or taking photos. It has the fastest processor of any tablet on the market with 3G options from either AT&T or Verizon. It also has the best selection of apps for both adult and children alike. The only thing I recently noticed is that it doesn't get Adobe Flash support and picture quality is less than awesome, granted, with a phone or iPod or iPad, I'm not expecting overly stellar anyhow. Overall, though, it is an amazing product that is easy to use, has the widest selection of apps and a battery life of 10 hours. It also comes with Bluetooth which is a real bonus to many.

I actually purchased this for my wife for Christmas this year and then come to find out that it made the number 1 spot for best of 7 inch tablets. It's a great tablet with a beautiful screen, Wi Fi, 16 GB of storage, and a micro SD expansion slot. Of course you gets tons of books and magazines but also thousands of apps to choose from. It has Netflix and Hulu already downloaded for you so if you have an account, all you have to do is sign in and you're ready to go. The only thing that might be a bummer for people is that you can't access the full Android market and there is no bluetooth. We haven't found that to be a problem but there are those who use those features. With the Kindle Fire you might have more options for downloading movies but with the Nook I'm not forced to get movies from one source. It is a little more expensive than the Kindle Fire but definitely a contender in a big way.

This camera provides a lot for such a small cost. I'm only showing the body currently but you have lots of room within your budget to get a great lens. It has 14 megapixels which will provide great details, a quick auto focus, Auto HDR, and dual media slots for more than one memory stick. There are a lot of great features packed into a small package. You will be able to track your subjects easily and quickly, your landscape or interior photos will balance out highlights and lowlights (use the HDR function), and the controls are easy to use and set up during any operation. It's one of the best in its class.

This is the number 2 camera is all around best in it's field for sports and other action shots. The only reason that it comes in at number 2, however, is because it has a bit of a slower continuous shooting speed than the Nikon D200 (which is also a little more expensive). It's not to say that it can't keep up, though. It is build with an anti dust mechanism and is water resistant. It has some really cool features and is very solid for action photography. I think you'll be very surprised by how well it handles and how much you'll love using it.

|
This is a great camera for your price range. Here are the basics. It has 12 megapixels with a 4x zoom and image stabilizer. It's very light, has lots of scene modes, and a large LCD screen that is bright and easy to see. It's great for taking with you anywhere because it so easily fits into your pocket. It doesn't have HD video recording, however, and I'm not sure if that's a deal breaker for you. It does provide great image quality, however, so I think it's the perfect camera for those on a budget.
|
|
|
|
|
This is a great slim and sturdy camera that will be perfect for everyday use. It has a super zoom that you will be impressed with when you take it on vacation or when your shooting a game with friends and family. It has a great smart auto setting and scene detection so you won't have to work hard to get that perfect shot. It also has HD recording so there is really nothing you can't do with this little pocket buddy. You'll like it a lot.

There are a few places you can look for inexpensive computers. Certified refurbished would be your best bet but you can get cheaper by purchasing used. You can buy from Amazon, Ebay, craigslist, usedcomputer.com, etc. These would be a few I'd check out.

Do you already have an Elite account? To create private clans you will first need an account and then if you already have friends who play you can connect with them to create your clan. If you need more people or don't know anyone online yet you can meet public groups who have similar interests and create the clans. Hope this helps a little.

My daughter is almost 5 and she likes some of the games on PBS Kids. It is similar to what Aaron said of Nick Jr in that they are only so challenging but maybe it will be a nice change. There are the traditional characters such as Cat in The Hat, Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Super Why, etc.

This is a pretty basic remote but it works great and it's inexpensive. It has all the controls you will need for Netflix or for movies as well. It's Bluetooth enabled so you can actually have your Playstation in a closed cabinet and control it perfectly. There are definitely higher tech models out there but this one gets the job done.

This movie is unbelievable on Blu-Ray. Don't skip a beat, this is a definite must have. You will never see anything so alive as this movie, except on 3D which is even more amazing. Technology has really come a long way to make movie watching this enjoyable.

I've not played this on Wii yet but on the Playstation it's awesome. There are new graphics and new troubles to find. It's twice the fun as the rest of the series. I would highly recommend it. It's spooky, mysterious, scary, all of it. You'll have a great time.

Similar to the other Resident Evil games this one comes with all the zombies, cultists, and plenty of trouble. The fun thing about this one is the graphics and 3D effects. It makes it that much scarier when zombies pop out at you. I generally play when others are in the room. Makes me feel safer!

One of my kids favorites is this Toy Story 3 game. They love that their favorite characters from the Toy Story movies are involved. I enjoy playing the games myself. My son and I have spent many fun filled hours playing and replaying and we still haven't gotten to all of the levels. It's a great time.

Gas leaks and CO poisoning...the silent killers. That is very scary. This alarm may be too sensitive but that fact that it's sensitive enough to pick up a person walking by who has gas makes me think that it's a great idea for the toxic kind as well. Another option is to get a parakeet and when it no longer chirps you know you need to high tail and run. I know that sounds horrible but they are truly the most reliable alarms I've heard of.
|
|

|
I thought I'd add one more idea. This game is a lot of fun and the pieces are a kick. Pick a game piece (choice of 4 different wine corks are your game pieces) start the game by tasting three different wines and making notes of their flavor, smell, and color then you roll and play around the board landing on blind tasting and trivia questions. It's a lot of fun a a very unique drinking game.

I'm not sure who you're shopping for but these are pretty unique and a very cool idea. My wife loves them. They are great for everything from baking or even using them as serving dishes. The colors are fun and not offensive and they come with great measuring cups that all go in a certain place instead of all over the kitchen because there is no one great place.

This is a great product for polished different types of stainless steel, whether it's shiny or matte finished. It's totally water based, anti-smear, no oily left overs, has a decent smell, streak free, dust proof, and it won't leave fingerprints behind. It's pretty cool. All you do is spray it on and wipe it off. Works great.

The MacBook Air has great longevity for its battery but be aware that it won't matter what computer you buy, the more movies you watch the faster your battery will die. You will get about 7-8 hours from this battery based on basic use but I can't say for sure with movies and the like. This laptop is also very lightweight and compact enough to travel wisely and unimpeded by too much bulk. It's one of the better laptops out for traveling.

These are all great suggestions, based on what you're looking for. My wife goes to JoAnn Fabrics and purchases these great plain black frames that look simple enough but definitely don't have a hint of cheap to it. They can hold 2 8x10's and a couple 4x6 or 5x7 (can't remember). They are larger because of the multiple pictures you're putting in but definitely provide a very uniform look and takes up a better portion of the wall than a traditional 8x10. Might be worth a look if you are able.

I don't think they make anything smaller than the iPod shuffle and it still leaves lots of space for hundreds of songs or other audio. I can clip mine to my shorts, put it in my pocket or connect it to my wife's headphones so that there aren't any wires to fuss with. My wife purchased some Roxy headphones, I think that are completely cordless and made specifically to connect with the iPod Shuffle. The headphones go over the ears and are really convenient when you're lifting or running and don't want your headphones to pull from your ears or the iPod to be pulled from your pocket.

I don't see why not. Do you like it's size? It's both the Galaxy Notes biggest asset as well as setback. If you like the size you're golden because it is one of the more powerful Android phones. It's thin and lightweight and is large enough to reasonably eliminate the need for a tablet, but it has a pretty short battery life. If you can deal with all of the good and the bad there I think it would be a great phone. Probably the most flexible on the market currently.

This is a great space saving option. I don't know much about oil based heater but if you don't want to go with a wall heater, this might be your next best choice. It puts off a great amount of heat, oscillates, and is an energy saver. One of these will easily be able to heat a couple rooms, let alone one and the noise is next to nothing even on full speed. We've had a few Lasko heaters and fans and have nothing but great things to say about them.

I think the fact that you're even thinking about getting her a "just because" gift scores huge. Good for you. I know my wife would be into anything that provides personal enjoyment such as a movie, dinner (and she's not one for big and expensive), massages, manicures and pedicures, etc. She loves that stuff but she's also into wine so if your girlfriend is too maybe there is a local wine place you could go to for a tasting and a bottle or get a certificate to send her with a friend. Did that for my wife recently and she loved it. Ended up taking me, as luck would have it!

I love a good old fashioned game night. I'm not sure if you have little ones or not so you will have to tailor it to your needs but we recently found this cool Cars Sorry game. My daughter loves the Sorry game and my littlest loves to take part so we thought it would be fun to get a different version than the traditional. After a game of sorry we might play Candyland or cards but whatever it is, it is some of the most fun. The kids love it!

Easily one of the more comfortable chairs I take camping, it also folds so I can take it on my back and has a pocket in the back for a small beer cooler. We like it so much that we don't put it away after camping. We take it to the parks, sports functions, etc. I even use it in my backyard. It's a great sturdy chair, easily portable, and very convenient.

This boat is super cool. You can use it to catch fish! Everything you need is included and can go out 300-400 feet. Comes with an RC fishing pole, charger, boat stand, extra propellers, fishing line and bobber as well as hook. I don't fish with it often but it's a cool feature. The boat gets a lot of attention when we take it to the lake. Fast and fun.

This screen provides some of the very best clarity I've ever seen. It has great energy saving features and is a very sleek design so I can use it in my bedroom or on my desk without it taking up too much room. Set up was easy and the speakers aren't too bad for internal speakers. Sound sound is fine for watching TV or working online. It's one of the better quality screens I've had and the price is great.

Perfect for thin but depending on what type of gaming you'd be doing you may be slightly disappointed. It's a great computer, don't get me wrong but it doesn't perform as quickly as you might expect when gaming. It is sufficient, however, especially for under $1000 for most gaming. Again, it just all depends. If it's solely for gaming, I'd hold out and save for something else.

Fender is a great quality amp with serious sound. This particular one is great for a beginner but certainly not only for a beginner. It is powerful but easy to take with you anywhere you go and it's made by a quality company you can count on. Great amp.

Can't tell you which ones are the best but my wife and I always try to hit a key few while we're there.
Chicago Premium Outlets Mall is great for bargain shopping for stuff like Kate Spade, Coach, Armani, etc.
Gurnee Mills Outlet Mall is just outside of Chicago but has shopping for everyone, including kids, and has different attractions like The Reptile Zoo, Rainforest Cafe, Disney Store, etc. It's a pretty popular place. Don't ever go thinking it will be a quick trip.

I've actually seen a Vizio in the 32" range for under $300. I think it has a great picture and is a great quality performance TV. The sound isn't awesome but for a television in the bedroom it will be fine. I prefer external speakers to that of any internal. The inputs/outputs leave something to be desired but as long as all of your other equipment is up to date you should be good to go. You get what you pay for and a 32" under $300 is a bargain.

I think OtterBox is one of the best. They can take a lickin' and the phone will keep on tickin'. I purchase an OtterBox for myself and my wife. I'm in construction so I was expecting to be prone to the accidents, it's been my wife and mother of 3, however, that has had the most accidents but the screen in in pristine condition and the phone still works as perfectly as before.

My wife and I used to get store bought flea and tick defense for all of our animals until one of them had an allergic reaction and store all their hair out because of the itch. We had to take them in for an emergency vet visit...$500 later they were bathed and calmed but never again will I buy anything that is not from the vet. I don't need to visit the vet themselves but purchasing from their office makes me feel a whole lot better. With that said, we opt for Frontline, but again, only from the vets office.

I bought this bike pump for my wife because she couldn't figure out the air compressor but am finding that I use it more often than she does. It's just more convenient and get the job done just fine. Bike pumps have come a long way since I was a kid. The base unit you hold with your feet is much larger, it comes with a gauge system to read PSI, and has a dual head to fit Presta and Schrader valves. I think that the pumps are even a little taller than they once were which is nice for the taller people, like myself. It's been a great purchase for both of us.

I think you can find a good blade for any occasion and for any price but I am a big fan of Rain X products so I use them more often than anything else. These are really great for rain and sleet but wouldn't recommend them for heavy snow fall unless it is more on the wet side. They have a tendency to fall apart during the winter seasons than most others. I live in the Washington State area, however, so they are nothing, if not perfect for me. Montana and Colorado areas may have a differing opinion. Great blades that have provided pristine windshields with zero streaks.

I hit up a bar in Oregon who serves Rogue beer. My most recent vice is their Rogue Mocha Porter. Definitely a drink for fall. It's a full flavored beer with a silky texture so it goes down smoothly. It also lacks the bitter after taste many darker beers are known for. I would definitely recommend looking it up.

Here's a little something for the whole family to get in on. It may be something that seems a little young but it keeps everyone involved and searching. We've never actually gotten to fill the whole US map before but I'm anticipating that one day we will. We travel pretty often.

ITP is a great service provider. They provide great and inexpensive plans, have great customer service, and unlimited all inclusive features. The only complication is their installation. It gets a little difficult but not impossible.
They allow you to make international calls from your cell, you can make calls from your PC or laptop, you can forward your calls to one number--regardless of where you are, you can add a dedicated fax line or a virtual fax, you can give your friends and family a toll free number so they don't get charged for calling you, and you can get a low rate calling card in the event you're away from your computer.
I think they were rated #2 when I signed up a few months ago but I like the plan offerings better than the #1 rated company and I'm glad I did.

This is one my wife and I bought for her to use in our townhouse. It's very easy to put together, very quiet, the pedals turn smoothly, and it folds up to save space. She gets a great workout for a fraction of the cost of many other machines and has had not complaints aside from the hard seat. We're going to get her a gel seat cushion or something along those lines to fix that problem. Very minor compared to the value this bike offers.

We have a lot of allergies it seems like this year so we purchased this purifier in homes of removing what we can. So far it has been very powerful and I love that it has 360 suction. It's also very inexpensive and portable. My wife isn't a huge fan of its look but it's a minor price to pay for our comfort, I say. I think the quality is top of the line and my allergies haven't been bothering me like they were prior to the machine. I'm happy with the purchase and if need be I will purchase it again.

I'm a big fan of PowerBar's energy gel. It has great flavors and electrolytes. The strawberry banana is my favorite. I really like how easily it goes down (a lot thinner consistency to many other gels) and how easy it is to open especially while on the run. When I take this my legs don't have an excuse to be tired. I hear a lot of that is mental but mental or not, it gets the job done!

This trampoline has been a great addition to our backyard. Our kids, their friends, the neighbors, everyone has put it to good use. It's most practical for a single bouncer but you can manage with a lot of fun with 2 people comfortably. You could probably fit 3 but we opt on the side of safety and just tempt fate any further than we have to. It's very solid and sturdy and the enclosure is great with a zippered opening. My wife and I use it from time to time as well. It's been a great purchase without regret.

My wife runs her business from home and I work in real estate so I'm often able to work from home as well so we purchased this machine because our usage was going to be much larger than what a smaller machine could manage. It's very fast and handles high capacity faxes with ease. It's been extremely reliable and you can't beat the price. We've had maybe 4 paper jams in the year we've owned it. I'd say that's a pretty great bargain.

This is a great TI calculator for an even better price. It's not as popular at the TI 83 but I wasn't needing the graphing part of the 83, just the financial and other mathematical calculations. It's an easy calculator to learn and comes in handy when I'm doing my taxes or investments. It has a lot of power in a small system that can fit in my back pocket, or when I was younger the front pocket of my bag.

These Infinity speakers are perfect for a boat setting. They sound great and look really cool. The bass hits hard and the sound is crisp. All I have left to do myself is get an amp but even without that the speakers are phenomenal. I've not be disappointed at all since I made them purchase.

This is a pretty great fishfinder that I've had for just over a year now. I like that it comes with a suction cup installation kit as opposed to having to drill it into my boat. It allows me to take it with me on the fishing boat or on my kayak. The suction cup is very effective and strong, it's not yet fallen off once. It gives accurate readouts, has a fantastic battery life, and is a great price. You won't regret the purchase.

I would definitely buy the Pentax K5 if I didn't already own the Canon 7D. The K5 is weathersealed and has a really large viewfinder like the 7D but without the weight. With a pancake lens you can even use it as a replacement for a compact camera. The K5 is most similar to the Nikon D7000. My friends have all been very happy with theirs and say it's the best camera made by Pentax for the APS sensor. I think you're in a good category and a great brand.
