This is going to be perfect for you, Allen. Complete with lift away canister, swivel steering, and a 5 year warranty, it gets rave reviews about how it well handles pet hair. It's light and quiet but powerful, super easy to maneuver.
Seriously, look at the link I provided because everyone has pretty much only good things to say about it. The only drawback I can think of is that it is not super big, so maybe not ideal for extra large rooms.
I think you will be very happy with it!

Wow this thing looks very impressive. A bit on the pricey side but well worth your money, since price is not an issue. It has a special popcorn key, that's why I suggest it to you.
This unit looks so great, from the stainless steel to the control panel. You ought to check out that link, and see for yourself! Simple and clean, no-nonsense design.
Get it! All your neighbors will totally be jealous.

This will be a good investment for you. It has a 6 cup jar, which is 48 ounces.
That's pretty large, any larger will put you up in the next price level.
Has a glass jar and 600w motor. Should be sufficient for some serious ice crushin.'
-oster is one of the world leaders in blenders!

You could try this single serve blender from Hamilton Beach. Unless you're making smoothies for the whole family, a single serve will probably do the trick. It comes with 2 jars and 2 lids.... just pop the jar off the blender, throw a lid on it and take it right along with you.
It's not a heavy duty blender by any means, but hey you get what you pay for. It does have stainless steel blades and tons of good reviews. I say go for it!

These are nice and fit well within your budget. They stay in you ears very well, so you can even run in them, if that's part of your routine.
Sound quality is good.
Comfort is good.
I like that they have the ear cushion because it keeps the headphone off your ear so your sweat won't destroy the electronics!

I think this looks like a sweet tv!! I really like the design. It does 3D and even comes with 6 pairs of 3D glasses. It has a 120hz refresh rate, so no motion blur, and built in wifi. Wow TV's are amazing these days.
A really cool 3D feature with this one is 2D to 3D conversion, in which the TV automatically converts any standard 2D content to 3D content.
Enjoy!

Seems like it would be these. Sennheiser is bomb! It's like audiophile quality headphones for your gaming experience. Noise cancelling microphone, open design, mic automatically mutes when the boom is raised, super soft ear pads, on ear volume control, plus more.
They will not disappoint!

In my estimation this is the best beginner dSLR around. Very intuitive controls and menus, a well as lots of automatic settings that can, for example, read the light conditions around you and preset the optimal settings for the perfect shot. Being a dSLR, it also has plenty of advanced features as you grow as a photographer.
This Nikon comes with a nice standard lens and comes in around $550... a whole hundred dollars less than your price point. It will be perfect for you.

This is a wonderful IPS display from Asus that is amazing for color reproduction, especially for photoshop work, graphic design, or anything similar to that. The monitor also pivots, which is actually a pretty cool feature for editing and can help a lot with image size.
It's basically a pro IPS display, boasting 1920 x 1200 high resolution, as well as a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has two USB 2.0 ports and a 7-in-1 card reader, 50,000:1 contrast ratio. It's gonna be great, no matter how you look at it!
|
|
|
|
|
I think you would be very well off with the micro 4/3 variety camera. These offer a dSLR-like shooting experience at a much smaller size. They are mirrorless (completely digital) which allows for a smaller design while still capturing great pictures. It also has interchangeable lenses, which is awesome for travel because you will be in a variety of situations, each calling for different needs (or just leave on the lens that it comes with, it's a nice one too!) Captures stills and video.

Here's an interesting article on the matter.
iPhone 4s is the clear all around winner (I didn't even have to read the article to tell you that!)
This phone has an 8mp camera and surprisingly high quality optics for a phone. Also records video very well.
You should read the little article I put on there because it compares images from like 8 leading smart phones.... iPhone seems to lead the pack, at least in terms of picture quality.
|
|
|
|
|
This looks perfect for you. 720p HD video, small, clip on... it even has a Carl Zeiss lens. It will be a perfect little camera for travel especially, as it is nice and small. Supposedly gets pretty excellent images! Check out the link I provided.

There are definitely better lenses out there, but not really for under $500.
I would recommend getting a wide angle lens, because it makes the scenery more dramatic, especially with large cityscapes or any landscape type shots. This is a pretty nice lens, although if you are willing to spend a little more you ought to get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-17-40mm-Ultra-Angle-Ca...
but that'll run you almost $800.
|
|
|
|
|
Well I'm gonna be 'that guy' (girl) and suggest Air.
If you want serious performance, like hard core gaming and stuff, then it's not for you. But your question just asks what the best Laptop for travelling is, and MBA is certainly one of the best.
It's not even an inch thick, weighs 2.4 pounds, and has a durable unibody design , which holds up quite well in travel situations.
Like I said, it's not super powerful, but it's good for staying connected while on the road, maybe doing some work, some emails, or watching some movies or listening to music. It has flash memory, which not only starts up super fast but is good for travel in that there are no moving parts.

I think this is the perfect beginner's camera. I have one and absolutely love it to death. You will be able to take pro-style shots with amateur knowledge.... that's what I have found at least.
Now, it's not a dSLR, so it does not come with the option of interchangeable lenses. If that's a problem, look elsewhere. It also doesn't have as many customization options as a dSLR. I think that is a plus though, because less options = easier to use and less expensive.
It has auto modes that you can select, in which the camera will set itself up with the right settings depending on the conditions you are shooting in. As you progress you can switch to manual mode, where you can control all that stuff on your own. Also, to help you with image clarity, it has a built-in image stabilizer.
This thing also has the DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which is the same processer used in Canon's high end cameras. Images will be simply beautiful.
Also shoots good HD video. I absolutely love this thing, and i think you will too.
Good luck in your search!
|
|
|
|
|
I also wanted to suggest Dawn of War. One of the best... ever
|
|
|
|
|
This looks like an excellent webcam with mic set up for you. It captures full HD (1080 or 720p) with its Carl Zeiss lens, whose lenses are also used on some high end digital cameras. It has autofocus and intelligent light sensor, so it will automatically find it's own best settings depending on the shooting conditions. It has a mic for your audio input, which captures HD audio. Look at some of the video on the link I provided.... looks good!
(and compatible with Skype!)

This is the best one I have found. It's well under budget and is an excellent controller by Hori. I also thought of the Razer Onza controller, which is a good controller but has one major flaw.... like the original Xbox controller, the D pad is 4 separate buttons, which is terrible for certain games... especially fighting games.
This controller, which is officially licensed by microsoft, has a great one button D pad, which in general is just way better. Also has turbo function for all buttons and vibration.
It's built solidly, and feels good in your hands. Check it out dude!

I think at this price point the Eee Pad is your best choice, and I'll tell ya why. Besides its excellent processing power, Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system, and lively 10 inch touch screen, it has the available keyboard dock.
Now, if you want a tablet for school, it means you probably want something to take notes on, maybe write some papers, do a little email correspondence.... all things that you will definitely want a keyboard for. You will be able to buy the keyboard dock that attaches to this thing and makes it what is essentially a laptop, and keep it under budget. So now you will have two different machines! One is a tablet that can be used for apps, movies, games, etc, and the other a powerful (and super portable) note taking, research capable machine.
Definitely a great purchase if you have the budget!
|
|
|
|
|
To me, this comes down to iPad or Eed Pad. I have an iPad 2 and absolutely love it, but for your purposes specifically, Eee Pad might be a better choice.
The main reason iPad is generally a better purchase is the huge app store... almost unlimited. But, if you are not concerned with apps (other than Netflix) than this wil not be an issue for you. You should be more concerned with display quality (for watching movies) and easy typing (for notes). I think in both of these categories Eee Pad is the clear winner. It has a beautiful 10.1" WSVGA (1280x800) IPS capacitive LED touchscreen for a vivid display. It also has the option of attaching a full keyboard directly to it, essentially transforming it into a laptop... this wil be awesome for your notes. Way better than typing on a screen.
But, honestly, you can also buy an external keyboard for iPad and it also has a very nice display, so either way you'll be in good shape.

Tough question! This is a very tough price range, especially for something with some decent gaming specs. This Acer will okay for some mid-level gaming, but hey you're just going to have to spend more money if you want to buy an excellent gaming laptop.
This acer will be okay, though. Acer tends to make a reliable, high performance machine even at these lower price points. Here are some of its specs
--15.6" HD Widescreen (1366 x 768) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio
--2nd gen Intel Core i5-2430M processor (2.40GHz, with Turbo Boost up to 3.0GHz)
--Windows 7 Home Premium
--Microsoft Office Starter 2010
--500GB Hard Drive
--4GB DDR3 Memory
--Intel HD Graphics 3000
Wow actually pretty impressive for such a low price! Acer is good, check it out!

This looks like a pretty awesome deal. Check it out... full HD, LCD screen, 26 inches. Vizio is a great company for intro level TV's! Nice display, and the unit itself looks really good. I have a Vizio (though not this one) and I am very happy with it.
The one issue you might have (as other people have noted) is the sound could be better, but oh well. It's cheap, the right size, and will look pretty!
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah Skyrim or Oblivion is what I would say. Dungeon defenders is cool, too!
|
|
|
|
|
The Fire would be good for this. Granted, it doesn't have the largest screen ever, but hey it's under $200 and that's what you should expect! It will have a very clear display, though, which is more important if you ask me. Yes, with Fire you can get the Netflix app and it works very wel... you can also get other apps such as Hulu if you can't find what you want to watch on Netflix.
The screen is very pretty, and also Fire uses IPS (in-plane switching) for an extra-wide viewing angle, perfect for sharing your screen with your friends. You can all gather around the Fire and enjoy all your favorite movies.

hmmm I have a good feeling about this Samsung. Samsungs generally have a great clear, crisp picture. You'll get a full HD, 1080p viewing experience. Also, this thing can do 3D which is awesome! I don't know if you have seen 3D on a TV but it's actually very cool.
If you are into the 'smart tv' thing you will be happy to know that this is internet ready, and if you get yourself a wireless adaptor, Samsung's customizable widgets will give you access to Blockbuster, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr etc.
A few more things worth mentioning are the size, refresh rate and energy usage. By size I mean width...it's so thin!! It looks real snazzy in that way. The refresh rate is 600Hz, which is amazing, although pretty much standard on plasma screens. And for energy usage it actually exceeds Energy Star standards, so you can pretend you are doing the environment a favor by buying this thing... also doing your wallet a favor when the electricity bill comes in!

I don't think you'll find a much better deal on a 3d TV this winter than right here! Wow, I am surprised at this price tag...$500 for a brand spankin new 3d tv? Wow. Vizio is a a great brand to buy from. Check out the reviews, lots of good ones, very few bad ones.
32 inches isn't huge, but if we're on a budget here size has to come down.
It's got al the specs you would expect, like 1080p full HD resolution, comes internet ready, and even has 2 pairs of 3D glasses included! That's a sweet deal from a sweet company. Rock it Vizio!

This is sort of a tough price range for high quality dslr video because dslr camcorders are much more expensive. However, I think if you go with something like this you will be very happy.
The Canon 60D shoots excellent, high quality HD video. It now features manual exposure control for more control on your end. It can capture 1920 x 1080 full HD video, and saves them as .MOV files that can easily be viewed via its HDMI output.
All 3 cameras I see here are good, so either way I think you'll be happy!

You'll get a bunch of goodies with this purchase:
AMD phenom II quad-core mobile processor, 4GB DDR3, serial ATA hard disk drive,
15.6" diagonal widescreen display, ATI radeon HD 4250 graphics card, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Some negs are you might end up with some crappy battery life, like under 3 hours.
But it's a good price and I would think you would be very happy with it!
|
|
|
|
|
Well this would be a good place to start. It's not the professional model, and I don't know how much you want to spend, but for what it's worth I think this is a great little product.
It's light, small, easy to carry around (great if you plan on taking it to class).
It's very easy to set up with your computer. Drawing and writing is fun and accurate. Works with photoshop.
Get one!

I just wanted to add my two cents here because I have gotten extensions a number of times in the past and I know a thing or two about them.
Let's see... I would definitely go with real human hair and I would definitely get them put in professionally. Like Adele said, you treat real hair extensions like it's your hair...this includes washing, drying, styling, brushing, etc. You can do just about anything to it that you would do to your real hair, except don't brush the part where it's actually connected to your head!
Getting them put in professionally is definitely the only way to go. This will ensure it is done well and you can't see the connection point.
You want it done well or else it will look like you have fake hair on your head! So invest in some quality extensions and a good stylist to do it.
It will cost more than $200 though!

I would say Acer and Asus are two really good brands for budget computers.
No bells and whistles, nothing fancy, just a solid computer for general use.
It also has some nice little features like a full number pad, and like 5 hours of battery life, which is pretty good. It also has 3 USB ports which can be very useful.

This is what I use every day and it's the best I've found. I like that it isn't too shimmery but still provides some very nice warmth to my face. Especially in the winter time!
|
|
|
|

This would also be a decent kit, although you might want to get yourself some nicer cymbals to go with it. You'll still be under the $500 mark!

Urban Outfitters has cool, trendy iPhone cases, if you're looking for that sort of thing.
I got mine there.... it looks like an old cassette tape! It's really cool.

Well this is nothing like Jillian's 30 day shred! But it is an amazing workout/relaxation technique that I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a low impact, feel good routine.
It's really easy to follow and do the routines, Brooke makes it simple. It's fun and helps me get centered every morning before work.
It's perfect for fighting off the wintertime blues!
|
|
|
|
|
Absolutely worth $50 if you ask me! Maybe it's a little steep for a filter, but to me it's worth it, and here's why: this one isn't a film that sticks to your screen, rather it's a thin plastic sheet that easily goes on and off. It's thin enough to not impede the iPad's use at all. The screen is only visible if you look at it from straight on.
|
|
|
|
|
This is the one I have and I love it!!! It makes baking bread super easy. It kneads it and bakes it and beeps when you need to add ingredients and stuff. Very simple.
Also, clean up takes no time at all. Cool machine.

I love watches! They totally take an outfit to the next level. You want to look professional for work or for a girl? Oh well, actually it doesn't matter because I think this watch looks good in just about any situation. It's very cool...titanium mesh band, blue face.
I think it's a nice medium of fun, class, and sophistication. The face is clear and understated. The whole thing is really thin. Very very nice.

Hey there Ido I would have to suggest this laptop because it's the one I have, and for me it's great. I would say it's pretty cheap, at around $500. It's a great laptop for the money. You get a 15" screen, Windows 7 and 4gb. Not spectacular, but certainly reasonable for the money.
It also looks pretty awesome, which was definitely a selling point for me:-)

I'm so surprised I found this on Amazon! My boyfriend actually picked this dress out for me as a birthday present. This is a beautiful dress! It's perfect for fall, and it's flowy so you can really stuff yourself at Thanksgiving and not even worry abut it!

This looks like an exceptional little piece of furniture! The Windsor... sounds so professional.
I like that it has wheels, and I really like that it has two separate surfaces.... one for the laptop and one for my snacks/beverages!
Also has a height adjustable table.... and did I mention that it looks nice?
This thing will add an excellent little work space for you.

I noticed this one has a $200,000 connected equipment warranty! Can't beat that. Also has 8 outlets. Very useful!

I would have to recommend the one that I have! It's awesome and does everything! Fax, scan, copy. It also works wirelessly which is super awesome I can print from anywhere in my house.
I love it!
If I had to think of anything negative about it it would be that it's kind of big, and uses a generous amount of ink, but not too bad.
|
|

This is a nice option for you to consider, too. I like this one because it has full size keys, which really makes typing a more pleasant experience. I would say if you are planning on doing a lot of typing you should get yourself a full size keyboard. It also has ipad specific shortcuts which is very pleasant!
It's lightweight and very portable but a little flimsy.... like if you type hard it bends down a bit in the middle, but I don't really type hard, so it's not a problem for me!
|
|
|
|

If you want SERIOUS speed and SERIOUS space, check out this Jetflash.... sounds like a comic book character.... that's how you know it's good. It's not particularly durable though, so be gentle with it and you will be in good shape.

I would have to suggest the AWD Subaru Impreza. They are reliable, high safety rated vehicles. All Wheel Drive is awesome! It's in your price range, too.

This dress is stunning! I don't own it, and it's only $25... so quality might be an issue. But wowy this thing is just beautiful. YOu will definitely make some heads turn in this dress.

I think this is something that you may be interested in. Have you tried ponds? It lightens dark spots very well... especially the lighter ones. Takes some patience, though. You've gotta be persistant with it, using it everyday for a few weeks and then you will see the results. It totally works and I think you will be happy with the results!
|
|
|
|
|
I use this because to me there is nothing tackier than too much makeup! This is a nice subtle color palette. When I think evening eye shadow, I think smokey eyes.
The subtleness of this palette makes it very easy to blend. Use a blending brush for best results!

I think it's absolutely worth it. The Kindle Fire is going to be awesome and I can't wait to get one! Have you ever used an eReader? They are awesome if you love reading, and the fact that you can browse the internet is a really cool feature that I am excited to enjoy.

I use this leash and think it's awesome. It's perfect for me and my doggie but understandably it's not ideal for everyone... it's pretty short and is not designed for high tension.
I have a small dog who doesn't need tons of lead and doesn't pull hard, so I'm in good shape.
I like it because it is really small and sets nicely in my hand. It's almost like I'm not carrying anything at all!

This is the ticket right here, Casey! I put this up when I moved into my new apartment to deal with the awful fixtures they had up.
It's a wonderful, cheap way to add some interesting lighting to your house. They are inexpensive, but are made well and do not look cheap at all. Multiple colors to choose from, too.
They are a bit smaller than I had pictured, but I am still very happy withe my purchase!
|
|

You should get these! They're only 2 dollars.
So funny... they make your inanimate objects seem alive!
Slap a smile on that blow dryer of yours and it will look much happier.
They stick pretty well. Maybe not permanent, but they will definitely stay on there.

These are BE-A-UTIFUL riding boots... but let me tell you, sizing is an issue! And I will tell you why: there is no zipper up the calf! So it's a little tough to find a size that is loose enough to put on, but tight enough to fit right.
You would definitely need to try some on to find the right size.

I absolutely love the original Tron movie! So fun and cheesy!

Ooh la la! These are definitely what I would call fashion forward.
These are totally in right now - that military fashion look. They won't be the most waterproof things in the world, but they look fantastic!

My parents are very much health conscious individuals, for the family AND the pets, and they feed our cats this stuff. So I know it's healthy. Our cats have always been healthy and strong, and I think this food really helps with this.
My parents really look into everything they do, there are no mistakes with them. So if they use something, I trust they have done their research and found the best possible product!

This dress is so beautiful AND comfortable. It's seriously one of my favorite dresses right now. Very soft, flowing spandex material... soooo comfortable to wear because it's stretchy and flowy.
I get so many compliments on it. I mean look at it it's really pretty!

My little sister who is 15 is really into lip gloss for some reason and has like 1000 different kinds.... every variety you could ever imagine.
Well this one was her latest purchase and I happened to be visiting home when she got it so of course she made me try it. To my surprise it was DELICIOUS and I immediately knew I needed some of my own.
I love cake flavored anything, so I was sold immediately. It really tastes like cake, so if you like that flavor, buy some!

This would be a perfect system for you to get started on. It's designed for on stage performance and portability, and is a pretty reasonable price. If you're just starting off do yourself a favor and get something really simple like this. It will be worth the money when you hear how pretty it makes your voice sound!

Have you ever tried this type of headphone before, Alexander? I think they are awesome. They are very comfortable for me, and I like that I can use them when I jog and they won't fall off. They stay behind my head, out of the way. The sound is nice, not amazing, but enough for casual listening.
My only concern with these is that they are a little tough to deal with in the winter because they may get in the way of scarves, collars and hats. So take that into consideration.

This is the best bathing advancement of the last 100 years! Okay, maybe not quite, but man these are cool shower heads. It might seem silly at first, I understand.
But check it: imagine standing in your shower with this blast of warm, colorful water massaging you in the dark.
It's a magical experience, and even somewhat surreal. Takes showering to the next level entirely.

This is supposed to help boost your immune system. Take it all winter long, and take it often. It's not like you're gonna OD on echinacea! Take it with vitamin c.

I have to recommend Aveda products. This company is consistently putting out amazing natural products, the best around. Always expensive, but always the best. I have one of these and it's really fun and awesome!
It lights up really bright so you can use it at night!
It's weird.... it is actually easier to throw than a normal frisbee. I think having that battery weight in the middle makes it easier, at least for medium distance throws.
certainly easier to learn on if you've never thrown a frisbee before.

Oh man I just got hooked on the Stone Barrington novels when I read 'Worst Fears Realized' and heard this one was even better (I know I am reading them out of order) and it is better! I love it.
These Stone Barrington novels are fun and easy to read. Sex, crime, detectives... what else could I ask for? Perfect way to pass the time on the train on the way to work.
'New York Dead' has the same fun writing style and same Barrington style detective work, only this book is better written and far more exciting than 'Worst Fears Realized.'
I will return to Stone Barrington novels in the future. They are fun and entertaining as heck!

I like the military look with the mock neck. Zips up for warmth, too. A nice sweater from Calvin Klein.

This is a GORGEOUS corduroy with a very stylish neckline. I highly suggest it. I bought one for my boyfriend and he freakin loves it. Not only is the outer corduroy material beautiful but the inner lining is a nice plaid material that just looks very classy. A+ for this one.

The best of the best. I don't know what it is about this stuff but it's better than the rest. Super fine mist.... it's liight and airy and just floats down into your hair and holds it exactly where it is all day, regardless of humidity. Great for men and women.

This is absolutely a fantastic coat, and I am so glad I added it to my wardrobe for this fall! I actually have the darker, chocolate colored one (I don't really like the camel color shown here).
I think its just great. It's fairly thick and heavy and long. The extra length really helps retain heat. It isn't the heaviest jacket ever, so it would be a good idea to layer well underneath.
That's what I like about it, is that I'll be able to wear what ever outfit I want underneath it and it will be big enough for my layers and long enough to keep me covered and warm.
Very happy with my purchase.
A sophisticated coat for a sophisticated girl!

This is a very fashionable blazer with a skinny, modern looking lapel and a gorgeous cotton material. I like the color. It's interesting but not out of the ordinary. It slim fitting and I think it's just a great looking blazer with a fun, modern appeal to it.

awesome mixer for a reasonable price. yamaha make great sound equipment!
i do a little gig at a local soul food restaurant and finally treated myself to this thing, as my band started to grow little by little.
it's really easy to set up and take down, and by easy I mean it's SIMPLE and there are not too many components to plug in. it has a flexible 8 channel set up: 4 mono inputs and 4 stereo.... the stereo inputs can take 1/4" or RCA.
the sound output is fantastic. also has some nice digital effects.
i definitely suggest this mixer for a big sound, low budget experience!

I love this classic pump because it is so comfortable. i could care less about the jessica simpson name attached, but the shoe is attractive and comfortable.
I especially like the wide heel... I'm pretty tall so this adds a whole lot of stability for me.

you might not be a beginner, but this book is just remarkable in it's effectiveness. i was very interested in meditation for a while and finally decided to buy a book and dig a little deeper... you know really get into it and stuff. this wonderful book was able to steer me in the right direction and teach me some proper meditation techniques.
it deals a lot with breathing and centering oneself.... clearing the mind completely.
the techniques I learned in this book really help me to quiet my mind and focus on the present. great stuff!
highly recommended!

these are great headphones as far as fit and comfort go... only moderately good as far as sound goes. not super clear audio, but not terrible.

I would say to stick to the motto 'the simpler, the better.' don't mess around with any carpenter jeans or anything fancy like that. it's unnecessary and detracts from the distinct simplicity of denim pants.
if you are 6' and skinny i would definitely recommend a dark blue straight cut, or even look at a slim cut if you are brave. you might be surprised with how well it fits.
Basically you are looking for something that is not too baggy, not too tight, doesn't sit too high, and doesn't sit too low.... a little bit like Goldielocks....
A straight cut is generally a safe cut for someone built like you. You need to pay attention first to sizing....this is the most important part. Make sure you have an accurate measurement for yourself and aren't buying super baggy because you think they're gonna fit! Buy an accurate size based on where the jeans are going to hang around your waist.
Go with the straight cut though. that's my vote.

this is a good shirt. i like it because it's not as cheesy as straight up American flag shirts. I love America but I hate those shirts!
nice bright colors and 100% cotton. perfect for wearing to your favorite patriotic holiday celebration.

I made my boyfriend wear this one year because The Nightmare before Christmas is one of my favorite movies EVER!! I had to get this for him when I saw it.
The costume is surprisingly good! Pretty much dead on (pun intended) and looks especially good in pics.
The mask is hot and stuffy (I tried it on) and it kind of sucks because you can't hear a lot going on around you when it's on... but at least you'll look good.

this is a fantastic resource for tying scarves of ANY type you can imagine. i consider myself a competent scarf wearer, but i learned so many different ways to tie them on this site!
really fun. also different scarf purchase ideas. i never knew scarves were so darn versatile. i mean, i kind of knew, but this website takes it to the next level and even has videos to watch as a helping hand!

there's just something about the tast of Red Bull that I love! I'll always love it. A really cold Red Bull after lunch is the key to my success.
however, i usually go for the diet type, because there's a ridiculous amount of sugar in these things.

I have a neoprene case just like this one, except mine doesn't have the handles. Next time i buy a laptop case i will definitely have handles! I work from home and usually I'm just carrying the case around, not in a backpack or anything, so handles would certainly be appreciated.
neoprene is an awesome material for this sort of thing. effectively protects my laptop as I carry it around town and on planes and everything. I'm never worried that something is going to break it because the padding is more than adequate.
also has an extra little compartment for your power cord or what have you. i wish i had this bag.
oh well... next time.

well I know right now it's popular to have it short on the sides and long on the top, with the top combed up, over and back, with a little volume. like almost a fashion comb over.
I call it the junior executive. or the business man.
you see a lot of guys with this sort of thing going on in fashion magazines and stuff for this fall, 2011.

I love the contrast in colors they use here. Very cool black face looks dramatically different than the bold bright gold that surrounds it. I like the thick gold pointers on the face, too. Seiko has a nice watch system, so it will certainly keep time well.
It actually recharges it self as you walk by your kinetic movement! How awesome is that!
You'll lose it or break it before you ever have to replace the battery.

I will always be a fan of the V. The way it's shaped creates the illusion of an elongated neck and broader shoulders. It's just an attractive look, for any guy.

I would recommend this style for you. It's like a fashion aviator. Tortoise rims and nice lines with the big aviator lenses are a great combination. I wear a pair of these myself. Very androgynous.

I would suggest saddle soap for that. It cleans and preserves your leather.
use a damp cloth that you can buff a little bit with. Make sure to take the liners out and laces off before you start cleaning. Also, dump out all the debris floating around in them before you start cleaning.
Use a damp cloth to wipe out all excess soap and water, and make sure - very important here - you let them dry adequately. Keep them well ventilated, because you don't want damp leather, it's bad news.

I think the only way to really upgrade your style is to pay attention to fashion (at least a little bit!) and gain a basic knowledge of fashion. It's like the old saying: give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but teach him to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
Same goes for style.
I could suggest a couple things to wear, but that's only good for one day. You need a basic understanding of fashion to be successful at putting outfits together.
At the very least I would suggest watching some shows on a fashion channel (for real! and pay attention!) you can learn a lot from these shows. Also, look at stuff like GQ and other mens fashion magazines. Maybe purchase 2 or 3 editions and look at the pics and read the articles.
You can learn a lot about fashion by just paying attention to fashionable people around you!

From what I've been seeing in fashion shows/articles I've been reading there seems to be a tendency towards vintage style jackets and outfits this fall. This jacket might not be the best example, but there is lots of stuff that looks like it came right out of the 30's or 40's in this fall's fashion. Don't be surprised to see some double breasted suits and pants that are too short.

now this, my friend, is a fancy shoe. a suede wingtip from italy. stylish shoe from a stylish country. these are some of the nicest shoes i've seen! so much detail. guaranteed comfortable because of the fine materias and obvious master craftsmanship. This is a great looking shoe - guaranteed to impress.

I have one of these. It's the small version of the popular laundry basket, and happens to work quite well for car trash. Attaches easily to your car's interior, either by the drawstring or the hook 'n loop. Does what it's supposed to...holds trash.

I like to think of myself as 'fashion forward' in that I absolutely LOVE fashion, but I'm not into designing or making clothes or anything. I like to pay attention to upcoming trends and also I do love a good scarf.
I noticed that a lot of models in runway shows this fall have scarves that look like an extension of the shirt they are wearing. The scarves were either the same material or something very similar to the shirt, or in some cases they were complimentary materials, that still looked like they were part of the shirt. Very cool.
The best example I can think of right now was a yellow snake print shirt that had a matching snake print scarf, which of course looked like a snake a little bit. It looks really cool... you should see if you can see some pics of runway shows in europe this fall because i feel like that stuff always slowly makes its way to us.

I think anything plaid or flanel is pretty much timeless and is therefor always in! Bust out that flannel from last year... you'll still feel (and look) as sexy and confident as ever.

A dark colored button up (like dark brown, black, dark blue or gray) is always a safe bet. These colors will generally look great on everyone and go with most other colors, too.
However, a blue blazer is a very versatile article of clothing. I think casual when I think blue blazer. It's hard to go wrong as far as matching colors to a blue blazer, and I would only recommend not choosing colors that are too similar.(Don't wear blue jeans and a blue shirt)
And as far as pants, I would say khakis would be good or a dark jean. Also, something closer to white would be a good pant color to go with that blue blazer!
|
|
|
|
|
How about something ridiculously cool and futuristic like this! Very industrial and stylish - although not for formal wear, obviously. I think watches like this are cool. At this point it almost becomes more of a fashion accessory and less of a time keeper, but that's okay. It is a beauty, if you're in to this type of thing.
|
|
|

I'm all about subtleties. I think details can make or brake something. I bought this jacket for my boyfriend for that reason... the subtle plaid pattern is almost invisible until closer inspection. It's like a little extra detail, not the focal point. The focal point is the cut and color of the jacket. A wonderful shade of gray combined with the a modern, slim cut line. Nice liner, too.
My boyfriend gets a lot of use out of this jacket. It's a 2 button, so it's especially versatile and great for a large array of situations.
Beautiful jacket, very pleased with my purchase.

For some reason I've always been into maps... I love reading them and studying them. I love to travel, too, so I think maps are fun because they let me dream about places to go in the future! I like this better than the regular edition Rand Mcnally. Just easier to read, more detail (because it's bigger and they are able to put in more detail) and easier for my bad eyes to see.
Quite accurate and easy to navigate.... this one is a keeper.
If only they made GPS units with screens this detailed!

This is a truly gorgeous sweater! I don't usually like turtle necks, but this is a very handsome one. I actually bought one of these for my boyfriend. I am not a turtle neck kind of girl, but this is such a nice piece of clothing here.
100% cotton... it's thick enough to keep you warm but still breaths. Every gentleman needs one!

I recently took this on a trip to to my grandparents house and took about a thousand pictures in and around their pool. Worked great! didn't leak or anything. easy to use, point and click.
the results you get with a camera like this are not going to be as good as with a normal camera - so just be aware of this first! i knew the pics weren't going to be as high quality, so i wasn't disappointed to see that the picture quality isn't awesome. not bad though. and it's really cool to see the crazy poses and stuff you can do under water!
really fun...we seriously spent hours doing this.

This is a great heated seat for cold winters. Takes the edge off. Feels great on sore backs, too. Gets pretty hot, in about 5 minutes. Just plug it into your cigarette lighter. I recommend it for sure! Especially for wintertime, it's awesome.

you can do it without a sewing machine but it's a little more difficult and certainly requires some patience, and probably some sewing experience. you will definitely need a needle and thread, scissors, a measuring tape and some push pins. You also might need a hem ripper if the existing one is still in.
i'm not going to explain every step to you, but here's a little guideline that seems to be pretty much on target. like I said, you need a little sewing experience!

This will help a lot if you put it on right away. Grass stains set really quickly, so you have to act fast! Use with a powerful stain fighting detergent and wash as hot as the garment will allow (check the tags!) Grass stains are tough to remove, so good luck!

I would say this is the best looking skate shoe ever. I don't skate personally but my friends do and I remember asking one of them specifically what shoe this was because it looked so much better than all the other ones! Circa shoes are really handsome and well crafted too.

As a girl with a keen sense of smell I have to recommend my favorite cologne for a guy, and it's definitely this one. It makes me melt for some reason. I just love it. I would wear it myself if that wasn't weird. It's just a great fragrance, period.

I think this is an adult looking pack right here. Understated logo on front, simple sleek design. Black is adult I would say. Has a laptop carry compartment. Great for school or even probably light hiking. Dakine has pretty nice stuff that generally stays well put together.

This is kind of dangerous, but I've used my hair straightener before to iron clothes! it works, but obviously be VERY CAREFUL and don't tell anyone I gave you this idea.

I bought my boyfriend some of these for this summer for picnics and days in the city and stuff. I mean we all know Tevas are great shoes... this one is no exception. Very attractive and masculine, but with an oh so soft lining for his delicate toes! Of course it has a leather upper a seriously heavy duty sole. Great all the way around!

Without a doubt I would recommend Ray Ban. These are great frames that look good on everyone. They only make good stuff... quality won't be an issue. Gorgeous frames... look no more!

I think this is a very attractive jacket. Black looks good on anyone. It's simple and streamlined. Dockers makes great stuff that lasts. My brother has this jacket because I bought it for him for his birthday and he wears it like everyday and he loves it!

I think definitely don't wear jeans. Kind of says you don't care. Wear some nice gray or dark blue slacks. Try a nice bold color on top, probably a button up, and definitely go with cotton. Maybe even add a blazer on top... a slim fit, modern looking one. Make sure all the colors 'go'.
Shoes are also really important! Girls notice stuff like this. Make sure they're not scuffed or old or anything. You want to be looking sharp... it's your only first impression!
|
|

I like slim fit jeans. Not quite skinny jeans, but slim fitting. I think it's a very attractive look.

I like the ones that look like they're going somewhere. This is so cute, he's just flying along on his way to the beach.

I know my dad loves these socks because I've bought him a pair every year for christmas for as long as I can remember! They are obviously a nice sock, though, and he says he likes them so much because they are so comfortable and stay up so well. It's like a stiffer, wool-like material that is super comfy (I've definitely stole and worn some pairs).
Great every day sock.

This is a really awesome belt buckle, totally different than what you see every day. Kenneth Cole makes great stuff as far as fashion goes, and durability.
It's reversible, too, incase you didn't notice ;)

This is a pretty fancy umbrella here, and it's doorman style which means it's gonna be huge. you can get the whole family under there! This is not a small, beginner's umbrella. It's really strong and sturdy and HUGE. But if it rains a lot where you live you gotta get one. Those cheap umbrellas are not good they will just break and disappoint you.

Call it trim line, modern, sleek, slim, whatever you like... the fact is this is a very fashionable suit jacket perfect for the fashion conscious. It looks like the type of jacket you would see at banana republic or express.
Marc Ecko makes nice stuff for today's busy professional. This suit will be durable and yet elegant. I highly suggest this coat or something similar. It will never go out of style.

This is a fantastic, modern looking, sleek, slim lined jacket that can be worn for just about any occasion. Kenneth Cole makes some great stuff and gray is a sexy color. I recommend this or something very similar, charcoal gray?

I know as far as 'high fashion' goes, usually it's considered okay to mix patterns as long as they are of the same color scheme. obviously it has to be done right or it looks tacky, and it would definitely be considered somewhat progressive. (well, regressive if done wrong)
|
|

If you want a good deal on pants and a jacket you should consider buying them separately. Go to Macy's or even a Marshalls or something. I would suggest like some dark blue pants with a black blazer, or a grey blazer with black pants. It's nice to mis-match colors like that, and then you can use them as individual pieces in the future.
You know, Dillards or JC Penny would have lots of separates, too.
Here's a pretty nice little guide with some ideas for ya

Land's end has a whole line of really cute rain gear for men and women. I don't know what fabric it is in particular, but it is definitely waterproof and looks great.
|
|
|
|
|
If you want serious warmth you should look into down. Get something from Land's End or North Face. (yeah, it will be expensive) Make sure it's somewhat water resistant. If you're not going for something fancy you could go with a Nike down jacket. Still expensive but dressed down a little bit, or at least more sporty.
My friend has one of those big puffy Nike jackets and it's like wearing a sleeping bag!
