I think this is going to be an excellent vacuum for you, but you have to understand a few things first. It's fairly low priced, so it's not going to be perfect, but it is going to be good! It will definitely be great for pet hair, which is obviously why I suggest it. Multiple reviewers say it really sucks up pet hair, but on the flip side you may have to occasionally pull some hair out of the canister... a problem that I am sure pet owners face with most vacuums they buy.
Also, some people did complain that the belts wear out after a year or two... again, I think this is pretty standard for lower priced vacuums that get a heavy work load (like pet hair). Plus, replacing a belt is extremely easy to do, and inexpensive.
I think in general it will be a very nice vacuum cleaner for you!

This would be a great one Edith. Krups makes a nice coffee maker for sure.
I like the design, I think it is very sleek. I love that the only button on this thing is the on/off switch. Looks so classy! You'll make a really nice pot with this thing. Read some reviews on that link I posted... lot's of good things to say about it!

Hey man what about this little guy? It's a single serve blender, very small, and very capable of crushing ice. Lots of good reviews about it. It's obviously not heavy duty, but for a morning smoothie or whatever it will be perfect. Like if I lived in an apartment this is the blender I would want. Very space efficient.

These are wonderful for wrist pain. I guess it does depend on your specific condition, but many people find that this mouse really does help to alleviate that pain that can accompany hours of using a mouse. It has a vertical design, so your wrist operates the mouse at a more natural angle than your average mouse. i think they also have a wireless version, if you're into that.

Pixma is a always a great choice. These do high quality wireless printing, and they are built by a super company for optics. It's an all in one that does photos really well.

Gotta recommend a Kindle fire for this one. I can't imagine a better deal for such a great little device... just barely under your price point. Plus, you get access to the HUGE selection of Amazon's media library of books, magazines, movies, etc. It's not quite as fluid as ink readers, but close...and it's in color.

TOUGH tough choice! I have to give my vote to the new iPad (iPad 3, I guess). I think Asus' Transformer is also a great tablet, but I like the usability of iPad more (I just think it's so easy to get around on a monkey could literally use one) and I like the App selection better. This new model is actually pretty spectacular.... although my one complaint is still no flash support.
Amazing resolution (2048 x 1536), brand new Apple iOS 5, 5 megapixel iSight Camera with 1080p Video Recording, up to 10 hours of battery life.... al this and the remarkable brand reliability that comes with owning a mac. Definitely my choice, but let's see what other people have to say on the matter....

It would appear that no such thing exists! You could try this little carry case though. It is designed to carry up to a 9 inch tablet. Mac mini's dimensions are 7.7 x 1.4 x 7.7, so it will fit in there... not perfectly, but it will fit!

If I were in the market this would be my monitor of choice. I like Asus stuff to begin with, maybe slightly biased, but the fact is this is a nice monitor. It has 1920x1080 full HD resolution with Asus' 10,000,000:1 Smart Contrast Ratio, for a vibrant display. It features a very slim and attractive design that would, I am sure, look great on your desk. Excellent monitor for the price!

There is actually a new version of this monitor (you can click the link to it on my link) but I wanted to show you this one because of all the good reviews.... tons of them. This LG has a beautiful picture and plenty of connectivity options for a PC.

Wow I am surprised that there actually is a decent monitor at this price range! BUt yeah I would trust this guy from Acer...they make good stuff.
It has a 1366 x 768 maximum resolution, which isn't amazing but considering the price it's pretty ridiculous. They know how to make a quality budget product over at Acer, tell you what.

This not only has a fingerprint reader, but also is just a really nice laptop. The fingerprint reader is a really cool (not to mention futuristic!) feature that adds an excellent security measure.... although I am sure you know this already and that's why you are inquiring.
For the rest of the machine, you can be confident that you are getting plenty of performance, with its 2nd generation Intel Core i7-2670QM processor, 6GB of DDR3 SDRAM, and 750GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive. Plus, it fits easily into your budget. Check it out Doug, I think you'll like it.

NEC would be a great way to go. This monitor has ridiculously high resolution (2560x1600) and even pivots, in case you need that function.
This is the perfect LCD display for professional grade graphics and photography work, and any color-intensive work you may need to do. Accuracy will be outstanding.

Oooh this is tough..... this is 100 dollars over your price point, and still it would struggle through many games... (for some reason it wouldn't show up in the link bar)

But it's a decent little computer for the price.

This would also be a good one for you. It's your basic stereo USB headset, but it's well made and solid. It has a flexible wire boom mic and soft earpads that sit right on your ear. Also has an in-line digital volume/mute controls. Should be perfect for you.

One is not really better, they are just different and designed for different demographics. I would suggest playing with them at your local Verizon dealer and seeing which one feels better to you. Complaints about iPhone include not being able to customize it very much, that what you see is sort of what you get. I own an iPhone 4 and the lack of customization is no problem for me, but for more technologically inclined people it might be a bit constricting. As far as usability, I find iPhone incredibly fast and easy to use as far as phone, internet and apps go (as I am sure Galaxy is, too!)
For some spec to spec comparison, here's a couple things to consider (trying to be unbiased here!
Res: iPhone 4S has 640×960 resolution, Galaxy s2 has 480×800 resolution... very similar and not really even a noticeable difference.
Flash: iphone does not have flash support.... galaxy does
Processer: both really fast!
Storage: iphone 4s now has maximum capacity of 64GB, while Galaxy has only 16gb, but does have a microSD card slot that can take 32GB
Camera: evenly matched
You can see, spec for spec they are very evenly matched. Battery life and price being similar, too, the only way to really decide (in my estimation) is to use them both and decide which fits you best.

I like Grim Fandango and The Dig! I also thought the Myst games were pretty cool.

Forget the surround sound! These look way cool. Harmon Kardon is bomb, too. I am sure these will produce excellent sound quality for your listening pleasure.

Hey,
I don't own Ozone myself but I have heard nothing but good things about it. Great reviews on the internet, wherever I look.
You may have read this already, but here is some good info on the dynamics and compression issue you are talking about.
Specifically, here's a paragraph about half way down that adresses the matter: (there can be up to 4 bands)
"Each band of dynamics is capable of three types of dynamics processing. Limiting, compressing, and expanding. This allows you, for example, to aggressively limit high level signals, apply more gentle compression to medium level signals, and/or boost (expand) the level of soft signals. The combination is such that you can tighten the dynamic range by compressing "from the top", by expanding "from the bottom", or a combination of both."
So it seems that while you can do some serious dynamic range compression, you can also opt not to, or to add compression in a custom way. Hope this heps a little bit... sorry I don't know more about it!

If you can afford Sennheisers they are always a good choice. These are their professional DJ headphones and they are only $99. He would be pumped to get these!
They have swiveling ear cups and they are collapsible. You'll get up to 32 dB of ambient noise attenuation, and really accurate sound reproduction.
They are built for DJs so they are durable and comfortable even for long periods of time.

I agree with Greg, you won't find a Satellite that really has any gaming power. If you want a Toshiba laptop for gaming, I think you would have to go with their Qosmio. Pretty good specs, but certainly out of the price range you gave.
|
|
|

Sennheiser makes some of the very best headphones around (and audio equipment in general). I think you would be very satisfied with some of these. So we're on the same page, the headphones aren't actually noise canceling, but the mic is. Hope that's what you meant.
They are built to be light and comfortable, to facilitate hours of comfy gaming. The noise canceling mic just means that it doesn't pic up a bunch of surrounding noise, just what is said directly into the microphone, like a directional mic. Good for noisy environments.
Also, in-line volume control and mute button will be useful.

Check out the 6000 series from Philips. The 32" falls into your price range... as might the next size up.
This thing has all the specs you want. 2ms response, 120Hz, 1080p.
This will be a great TV for you.

You got a KMart nearby? Guess they're still alive and kickin... and selling 15 foot long USB cables for cheap ;)

I think this would be a killer camera for you Monica! It's super simple to use (point and shoot) and is capable of capturing some fantastic pictures.
It has a 2.7 inch LCD screen, shoots 1080p HD video, and has a 35x Wide-Angle (24-840mm) Optical Zoom lens.
This thing is perfect for beginners. It has the image quality of higher priced models, but less customization options and less features in general, which in your case is actually a good thing. It will be simple to use, and takes care of most of the work for you, with automatic scene modes and stuff. It has some zoom for your distance shots, and the wide angle lens will capture your wildlife shots beautifully.
For sunsets, it actually shoots low light fairly well, something point and shots usually fail at. It has ISO of up to 3200, and with its DIGIC 5 processer it will be able to get some high quality low-noise shots.
Good option right here! Canon is awesome. I think you will like it. Have fun!
|
|

Don't know if they'll sound good at all but these certainly look cool!

wow what a stupid, useless product. i hope i never own one of these.

You should be able to find this under $1800 no problemo. And what a nice tv it is! Check it out it's got 1080p res, with 600 hz refresh rate. Movies, games and sports alike will look super nice. It's also 3D THX certified. Hope you like plasma screens, because it is one!
So for the important stuff, the internet. It is wifi ready and all you will need is a wifi router and of course a wifi signal. You will then be able to watch stuff on Netflix and Vudu, listen to Pandora, update your status on facebook, and pretty much check out a wide range of apps that they offer. It also has a very simple menu layout, which reviewers seem to enjoy. They describe it as easy and fun... good sign, right? Messy, complicated menus are such a pain to deal with. But you won't have to worry about that!
|
|
|
|
|
This seems like a great Tv at this price range. Most important I think for sports would be your refresh rate. Too slow and the action will be blurry. This one has a 120Hz refresh rate which is pretty darn great for this price range. It also gives you 1080p.
I really like the clean lines. In my house the TV isn't on all the time, so I like one that looks as good on as off.
It's not huge, but the picture will be nice, and that's really what matters!
|
|
|

I would say go with Canon's compact ELPH. It not only fits your budget, it fits right in your pocket.
It has Canon's 12.1 MP CMOS and DIGIC 4 Image Processor which provides for some extra vivid pictures and also some decent low-light shots. It has a 24mm ultra wide angle lens and 5x Optical Zoom, plus Optical Image Stabilization. It can also record full HD, 1080p video...very impressive for such a small device! This is just the tip of the iceberg though.... look at the link and you can see all the other features it comes with... a very long list. Canon is obviously a well respected name in the camera industry, and it will definitely do some good work for you.

Well it's not out yet but I'm pretty excited about Mass Effect 3 (out in March). BioWare makes some bomb RPG's, if you ask me.

I would say it's definitely a good one. I don't have one personally, but I keep hearing about them and it seems to get great reviews all around the net. Check out Amazon and stuff, good reviews.

I think the T3i has a fantastic setup for low light shooting as well as lots of other shooting situations (depending on your lenses). It has an excellent ISO sensitivity of 100 - 6400 (expandable to 12,800), which when coupled with its DIGIC 4 image processor provides for excellent low noise, low light shooting. And fast shooting, and really it will be great for everything.

I think this may be the best tablet on the market right now, especially for internet browsing. What sort of things make your browsing experience great vs. just okay? I think of things like speed, large clear screen, good screen sensitivity, easy navigation, and multi tasking abilities. I think the Eee Pad delivers in all these categories.
For speed, it's got the NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor, which delivers not only fast speeds but great graphics. The 10.1-inch WSVGA pressure-sensing multi touch display will be very pretty and wil be in HD (1280 x 800). A big screen is important, because I know that Kindle Fire has an issue where if you're in landscape mode, half the screen is taken up be search bars and stuff. Gotta have some real estate for proper viewing.
Navigation will be simple (like it is on most tablets) and everyone seems to like the Honeycomb OS for its intuitive design and ease of use. it's also great at multitasking.... you can Skype while you surf the internet and listen to music.
One more cool thing about the Eee Pad is the transformer aspect. If you buy the keyboard you will essentially have your self a laptop as well as a tablet.
|
|
|
|
|
In the 7" tablet world I would have to go with Galaxy. I think it is the best for the size and the money. It has Honey Comb 3.2 and a dual core 1.2 GHZ processor in there. It also has a 3.0 MP rear camera and 2.0 MP front camera. You will have full access to the Android app store, which is steadily growing into a massive collection of cool apps. I personally like the widescreen, especially for watching movies and stuff. it has Adobe flash built right in, which I don't think iPad offers.
i don't think you will find a beter tablet at this size and price.

These are going to be perfect for you. Great sound, nice microphone, even has an in-line amplifier to really kick it up a notch sound-wise. Good recommendation from Alex

I think this is the one you should be looking at. Perfect for your needs. It will be great for mid range gaming and also movies and all your entertainment needs. I think it's a good medium size for you, at 15.6 inches. I also think it has all the right specs you will appreciate:
--Intel Core i7-2630QM, 2.0 GHz (with Turboboost up to 2.93GHz
--NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
--6GB of DDR3 1333MHz DRAM, (8GB Max)
--640GB Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
--Super Multi DVD Drive
--Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
--5-in-1 Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/SDHC)
--3 USB ports
All good stuff, and all at a good price. It sucks that your Dell fell apart... this one shouldn't be as bad, but if it does, Asus has a ood warranty that should cover you pretty well.

I am sure you have heard of Otterbox, but these are seriously tough cases. They're cool because they have different layers of protection. The outside shell is tough and durable and takes the brunt of the drop or bump or whatever. There is also an inside layer that is a softer, gel-like thing that absorbs the impact force around the phone. They are separate layers that, when put together, are indestructible. My brother has one and he's kind of a party animal and drops his phone constantly but his Otterbox has kept his phone in good working order for months and months now... probably a record for him!

These will be very nice for you. Incredible audio quality, comfortable, too.
People use these for studio work, live broadcasts, that sort of thing. They will blow you away.

Just baaaarely over budget you could get yourself one of these guys.
It's got a pretty nice sized, 42" screen and is 1080p. 120Hz refresh rate is pretty good...sports will look nice. I think it's a solid buy for under $500.
The Vizio and Samsung I see here would also be good! If you can wander into a CostCo or something that would be ideal, that way you can actually see the TV in action as compared to others around it. I think that's the best way to pick a TV because they all will have the same channel so you can really compare!
|
|
|
|

This would be a good one to use because it also works on non-porous items, as I imagine a cocktail shaker would be.
|
|
|

I think this is a really cool accessory! You gotta look into this thing. It's a mini projector that projects movies and pics right onto your wall. From 10' you can get a 60" image with a decent resolution. Also plays sounds/music. Awesome for sharing media with friends/family or even for work.
|
|
|
|
|
This is a nice monitor for gaming and other general use. I like Samsung monitors. I think it looks real slick and the resolution is equally as nice. It also lets you set it to work at 100%, 75% or 50% brightness, to reduce energy usage. Very cool feature.
This monitor has a brilliant, bright, clear screen. I don't do much gaming, but I'm sure it would be perfect for it!
|
|
|
|
|
I know, this is a bit expensive for a privacy screen, but 3m really does it right.
I have one of their filters on my iPad and it works very well indeed. Not only does it restrict viewing angles to directly infront of the screen, but it will also protect your delicate screen from every day wear and tear from the elements.
|
|
|
|
|
Awesome monitor! This is the next best thing to the expensive apple monitors. Asus makes some nice stuff, for reals.
Full HD, 27" screen isn't super big but it's pretty nice, also has lots of connection options like HDMI, DVI and VGA.
This one will definitely be compatible with your mac.
Excellent resolution for a low price!

|

|
This one is like original and best. If you are going for the traditional 'wah' sound this is the one you want, even for a beginner. It will give you that classic sound... I mean it's a classic piece of equipment.
The other reason this is a great choice is because it is built to be incredibly solid. Built for the road, as it were. Durability is important with a piece of equipment that you operate with your feet! You don't accidentally want to kick it too hard and end up destroying it! You won't have to worry about that with this thing.
|
|
|
|
|
I think this looks like a good choice, although I don't own the thing. So take my advice with a grain of salt.
I trust the T-Fal name, and by the pictures and specs this seems like it would be a wonderful machine.
Keep in mind there is some work that goes into this whole deep fry thing. You need like 3 liters of oil. It needs to be heated and cooled and kept somewhere, plus the thing needs to be cleaned. Oh yeah and it won't smell very good...
I'm not trying to dissuade you, just be ready to deal some labor!

If I were to make a large TV purchase today I would certainly go with this LG. I know it's not quite 60 inches, but I think overall it's a better TV that will last you longer than any of the 60 inchers I have seen. The reason is, many of the large 60" TV's I have looked at seem to have serious problems, and when you're spending this much on a TV you need something reliable. Things like 3D not working at all, or 3D glasses being really expensive. Also a lot of screen issues arise, like flickering or half the screen having a different tint (these are all things I have gathered from online reviews).
Anyways, this one seems to have no 'glitches' and no inherent, recurring problems.
It also has some nice specs, including 1080p, and the fact that it is a 'smart TV' which enables you to watch movies and get apps and stuff.
I like LG, and I like the look of this TV. Check it out.

Artograph seems to be the way to go as far as tracer projectors go.
This looks like an effective, inexpensive way to get the results you are looking for. An image can be enlarged up to 14 times and it comes with a 1 year warranty, which is always important when ordering online, if you ask me.

This is what I would recommend. It restores the natural high and low frequencies that are distorted when the music is compressed to mp3.
I recommend this one because it is exceptionally easy to use, and I really like that about it! Basically plug and play, and you will notice that your music sounds roughly a bajillion times better.
There may be a newer model available, but this is the one I use with my mac and it's great!
|
|
|
|
|
I would also have to suggest cooler master.
These are great because the inside is HUGE! I mean, there is a ton of space for working and for cable management. There is also lots of potential for fans with these cases. They are a pleasure to work on!

Hi Frank,
I'm not really a screen expert, but this looks like a fine one. I think $70 is a reasonable price, although you might find that the materials aren't especially high quality.... like it may be a bit flimsy. But as far as screens go, I mean it's not going to be in a hostile environment, so as long as you're relatively gentle with it it should be fine!
|
|
|
|
|
This would be another good option for video editing. It is a single slot card that requires no power connector. It won't have quite as much power as the 9800 but man it's still an impressive card.
Basically, I think it's the perfect middle ground for price vs. performance.
Either of these cards should do you well.

Okay so I'm not sure if this is even intended for men, but I admit I use it! I like its exfoliating properties.... I mean let's be real here, it makes my skin feel really soft (oh and chicks dig that).
It's not overwhelmingly scented, either. Just smells like soap.
Reasonably priced, too. Good stuff...I like :)

Whatever one you get, double-decker is the way to go. Waaaaay more comfortable than the single tiered ones as far as I'm concerned.

Sunrest, in my humble opinion, is totally the best. It's also where you will face the toughest opponents EVER so practice hard before hand!!!!!

I would assume you have the mini for it's space saving abilities as well as its portability, so I would choose a mouse that offers similar features.
I think this Logitech would be perfect for you. It's wireless and small (not too small for like an average human hand though!). You can use it on just about every surface you encounter because it's laser...they even claim it works on glass (this I do not know about). The USB wireless receiver is also really small...everything about it just screams take me along with you!
I know Logitech is a good company to buy from-they stand behind their products.

This is what I use because I like the different shelves, horizontal and vertical. Helps me stay organized in my extremely disorganized life!

This is a great deal on a good burner. It's small and relatively quick. A little loud, but that's really no annoyance to me. The only annoying thing is that it does require 2 USB ports, so be ready to give a couple up.
But yeah if you want a cheap writer that works, this is a good one.

I would suggest something like this for you, Kimberly. 3 lights will produce a good amount of light for you, especially depending on what type bulbs you get. This is a nice looking fixture that I think you will be very happy with.

I bought this stool for my girlfriend and it's great. She likes to cut hair at home, like a hobby. She's really good and decided to go to an Aveda institute, so I bought this for her as a gift. She loves it. It is perfect for home use. It is fairly comfortable and easily goes up and down. A great budget buy.

I would say go with these Logitechs. They are cheap as heck and make pretty decent sounds. I think they would be perfect for watching tv shows...I mostly use them for gaming and casual music listening. Definitely a good bargain speaker set.
|
|
|
|
|
This one is good for simple sketches and stuff...only ever tried one, I don't own one.
It feels pretty close to paper and pen, although the drawing surface is of course smaller. It is compatible with both pc and mac operating systems, so you should be good to go either way!
They also have bigger models if you need more space to work with.
|
|
|

|
I bought this headset because of what reviewers said about it...mostly good reviews, with the exception being that some people thought they were a little uncomfortable. I guess they are a little snug, but it doesn't bother me. I will say, however, that I usually don't use them for extended periods of time.
The sound is very clear...I actually use them to listen to music sometimes, but mostly for skype now... originally I bought them for Rosetta Stone, which they are also good for.
|
|
|
|
|
This is a PHENOMENAL graphics card!
Definitely one of the best you can buy... if not THE best...
I know, it's pretty expensive.... if you don't like the price tag you could also run it on the NVidia 8800GT, for around $110. Obviously it won't be quite as exhilarating as the GTX, but it will do the job. Hope this helps.

This is the one I use.... it's awesome ;-) Very fast.
What's the deal with crappy mac drives?!
|
|
|
|
|
This is the real deal right here...but it's more of a steam vac than a vacuum with steam function. This thing got some amazing reviews and if I were to buy myself such a device it would be this one. It's a really good deal and obviously works very well.... thousands of people have reviewed it favorably. It has a nice warranty, too. Seems that the only problems people have is when they don't follow the directions correctly! Probably because they aren't patient enough.... at least that's my problem!

This might be kind of boring, but chives would grow really well, and they're easy to take care of. They are also a great addition to many dishes!

I'm pretty sure any fixture will work in terms of wattage, if it's an internal light fixture (inside your house). All the lights in your ceiling or wall probably have the same wiring... pretty sure it's a standard building code thing.
If you don't know what size you need, you could always take the fixture off completely and take it in to wherever you want to buy your replacement. They'll be able to help you find the right size...just make sure you turn off the circuit to the fixture before attempting this, or it could be a bit shocking! Be careful....obviously only try this if you have some sort of mechanical knowledge and feel comfortable working with electricity!
|
|
|
|
|
These are awesome for small rooms. I have one in my bedroom for cold nights...because unlike a lot of people I hate sleeping in a cold room. It's great! Definitely heats my room up without having to run the furnace too much.... I would say it helps lower my heating bill because I use it instead of the central heat quite often.....but I haven't done the math to know for sure!
I like that it has a remote because I don't have to get out of bed to turn it on/off, and I also like the sleep timer. Oscillation is a nice feature too.
Size was a big selling point for me - it takes up so little room because of the tower shape. Oh yeah it's also very quiet! Great little heater. You won't be disappointed.

Yup! I don't think there's any question that this will be the best eReader available when it comes out. The price is outstanding. I'm curious to see what other companies will come up with to compete?

I have one of these - I got it for Christmas last year. I first I was a little skeptical about its durability, but it has turned out to be a great little stand for using in bed! As you can see in the picture, the legs are completely height adjustable and perfect for sitting up in bed. It's also got little vents so your computer wont overheat.
The only complaint here is that it really could have been built more solidly. However, on the flip side it is very light... some sort of aluminum alloy. Yes, it's a bit delicate, but it's not like I'm rough housing with it, so I don't see durability as being a problem at all.

I think this program would be perfect for you. It's in your price range, runs on windows 7, and the best part is that it's incredibly easy to use. From your description above it seems like you want something easy for casual video editing, nothing super professional, but something that can get the job done.
This is it!
The interface is not only easy to master but fun to use. You will find the editing process very fast, too. Everything is made very simple. You can piece together and edit your videos basically however you can imagine!

Can you isolate the points where it may be leaking? i.e. any cracks or holes on the outside OR inside? because I would recommend buying some clear, waterproof epoxy or caulking and rubbing that into the problem areas. Of course let it dry for a while! It will definitely stop the leak.
This might seem like a ridiculous idea, but if you can't isolate the leak, get some clear caulk, and lay a thin layer of it all the way along the runoff channels, front to back. Since it's on the top it will be pretty much invisible to everybody, and it would definitely clog the holes, assuming it get's into them. Anywhere you think it might be leaking, add some caulk (unless it's too visible and will look awful, then you may want to consider another option).
This is just a wacky idea....I've never tried it myself, but I have used a lot of caulk and epoxy, and if anything is going to stop those leaks, it would be one of these things!

This is one of my favorite photography books, not just because of the awesome photos, but also the way it is laid out. They have designed it so that on opposing pages are pictures that compliment each other or are somewhat opposites, so you can compare and contrast the different scenes in different countries... or in some instances very similar scenes in different countries.
It's very interesting to see the photos side by side and see how different cultures around the world are.

This thing is absolutely wonderful!!! Exactly what I was looking for. A blade, a flashlight, a fire starter... even an emergency whistle.
If you ask me this is the perfect little knife to take on a camping trip. It offers that little bit of security I need to feel confident in my safety. It's a great single item to bring along in your pack for ANY outdoors activity, because you really have no idea what might happen to you while you're out there.

This is a fairly inexpensive refrigerator, so don't expect a whole lot in the way of durability or longevity. Unfortunately with refrigerators you get what you pay for!
But it will certainly do the job and keep your food cold. For the office or dorm I am assuming? This would be perfect. It's a low cost way to keep your food cold.
Don't ge me wrong, it works! But it is by no means high quality.

This is the type I have. It is similar to the Syma type you see everywhere in just about every way. It's easy to control and durable enough to take a few hits.
The only thing i don't like about it is the flight time. only about ten minutes...LAME. after 45 minutes of charging I only get 10 minutes! but when it's in the air it's a freakin blast!

Simple vacuum that sucks up lots of dirt!

My dad used to take my brother and I out to do some amateur stargazing with our telescope, and it was really fun and memorable. We would make a big thermos of hot chocolate, bring some blankets, and go out and look at the moon or planets if they were visible.
Great family bonding activity!

This is a good chair. Great for the price.
You do have to sit pretty far back in it to get the full effect of the lumbar support, so it that took some readjusting for me, but I like it now.
I consciously sit up straighter because of it. That's what you want, right? Check it out.

I have to recommend a Sector 9 bamboo deck to you. These are fantastic longboards, and if it's a little over your price point it's totally worth it. Very smooth ride, durable as hell.
This company knows how to make a nice deck. They are always beautiful to look at and beautiful to ride. Whoever is the lucky recipient of this board will be a happy skater!

I gotta recommend this P/A system to you. I have actually used a few of these in the past, although I don't personally own one (yet). I think it is THE best beginner-intermediate P/A system available for a couple of reasons.
It's so simple to use you could teach your grandma in one minute how to assemble and use the whole thing. It's like the Mac of P/A systems. Plug in the power, the speakers, and the mics, into their color coded inputs. Voila, you are good to go.
Has two mic inputs and two 1/4 inch inputs.
The sound is full and even has a decent amount of bass presence, which is somewhat hard to believe considering the sound, but it really sounds nice!
|

This is the perfect beginner practice amp. It has a headphone jack so you can practice silently. It has clean and distortion channels, as well as bass and treble control.
It's small enough to be easily portable, but still packs a little punch, certainly enough sound for some at home jamming.
A really good company! You can count on them to make you a good amp.

I just wanted to add that for the rest of the tv (anything that's not the screen) you can use multipurpose cleaner, and pretty much any type of cloth. Just don't spray any chemicals directly on the tv, like howard said, it can drip into the electronics and do damage.

I think I can honestly say this is the sharpest picture I have ever seen. Amazing picture quality... if that's your main concern I would definitely recommend this television. It's big time, at 55 inches it will impress.

This is a radical climbing shoe from 5.10 great all purpose shoe. I love the velcro for easy on off, all though it does pose a problem for heel hooking as it's possible they will slip off! not likely though.
they are uber-comfortable and edge like mad on the wall due to the sharp pointy nature of the sole.
great performance, easy usability. i love this shoe for all my sport/indoor climbing!

If you're a coffee drinker I would suggest buying some decaf and mixing it with you regular coffee. Slowly add more and more decaf so eventually (in a couple months) it's all decaf, or at least nearly all decaf. I did this because I used to drink A LOT of coffee, and it made me totally jittery. Now I have one or two cups in the morning, half caf. It works for me because I still get that little boost in the morning which I need, but it's not overwhelming.
A lot of the reason I like drinking coffee i I just like the taste and the experience... it's not all about the caffeine... although I do like the caffeine!

A great way to save space!!! An easel can take up surprising amount of space! If you live like a lot of artists you don't have a lot of space!
This easel was the answer for me. An awesome deal! It's quite compact and folds up very small.
It's sturdy enough for a variety of canvas sizes and is also height-adjustable. It has rubber stoppers on the feet so it won't slide around on you.
It's a great product for what it is.... I mean it's no professional set up by any means because it's sort of 'light duty' in that the materials are a bit on the cheap side... but don't be discouraged when I say that... I just mean you get what you pay for. It's inexpensive but works and looks just fine. I love mine and it's perfect for my studio apartment!

A fascinating book with a different viewpoint than you usually get, Amanda Foreman chronicles Great Britain's role in the war, as the Worlds super power at the time. Very interesting and very different, it offers a totally fresh perspective on the war, a non North/South perspective. Definitely worth a read. Obviously well researched and well written.

Alright Best Buy Black Tie support plan! Saving the day! here, man, you may want to consider something like this. I've been using this for my 17" macbook pro and am quite satisfied. it's a lot bulkier than my old neoprene sleeve, but I once dropped my laptop as well and it really banged up the bottom right corner - right by where the 'on' light is. Gotta protect these expensive machines!
Took a minute to get used to all the extra bulk, but now I love the fact that i can take my macbook, power cord, notebook, pens, pencils and the lot wherever i go without having to jam it all into the neoprene case, which was a silly thing to do.
This thing has tons of space. The laptop compartment has thick protective padding. The adjustable shoulder strap is also padded very well. There is also a little pen organizer on the front.
I definitely recommend this bag for the sake of your computer's safety!

Awesome security device.... you should buy one for every door in your house. It's completely wireless and installation just involves mounting the device and a magnetic sensor that can tell if a door/window has been opened.
The alarm is REALLY loud... piercing, really..... which is just what I wanted.
Also has a mode for when you're away from home and want to set the alarm... it lets you set the alarm and gives you 30 seconds to leave before it is armed (and also gives you 30 seconds to disarm it when you get home)
The loud alarm is definitely a deterrent and will certainly let you know if someone has opened your door.
Just remember to change those batteries! Otherwise it's completely useless.

I love these shoes they are the best for bad weather running. They have a good amount of tread so slipping is never a problem, They have a waterproof seal that works quite well as long as you don't completely submerge your foot in water.... so just watch where you are going.
They aren't particularly breathable because they have that waterproof coating, but I don't mind because it's cold and wet in the winter and I need my feet to be happy.

Cycle Smithy in Lincoln Park is a great shop with a large selection of bikes and gear. Very knowledgable staff and good repair service. Don't go in there for a nice conversation, though. The gentlemen who work there are aren't always very gentlemanly.... just sort of rude like they don't really care that you're in their store.
Great bike stuff though.

This is great for packing in a picnic if you have a ways to go and want to keep things cool. Also good for biking to work with a lunchbox, which is what I use it for primarily.
It feels comfortable enough, just like any other decently made backpack.
It's very convenient because the bottom half is insulated like a lunchbox and the top holds whatever else you what to bring.
The only thing I don't like is the cooler isn't waterproof. i feel like they got this far, they might as well make it waterproof! That would be n awesome feature.
But it insulates well and with a cold pack you'll be in good shape!
Makes going to a picnic with cold beverages way easier.

Someone gave this to me as sort of a joke because my friends think I dress funny. But it's actually a really good guide to style for men, and I have read it and gotten a lot of use out of it! I think it's important to look your best whenever you go out, because it's really true that you never know who you're going to run into. Might as well always look put together. It's not that hard and will lead you on to a more successful life.
This book obviously won't have current fashion trends for this fall or anything, but it covers all the essential, timeless mens clothing pieces and details how, where and when to wear it.
Has lots of pics and general tips and rules about dressing yourself as a fashionable man.

I like this stuff enough to use it after every shave. I like the smell and the way it soothes my skin. In fact I look forward to putting it on the whole time I'm shaving!
Not the same scent as they're shave cream, but equally delightful in a different way.

These are excellent for jogging, however I find them impossible to weight train with. The wrap around design does not lend itself to laying on a bench with your head making contact with the bench! It just gets in the way and moves around too much.
So I don't use them to work out in. I do use them to jog in and they are fantastic. The fit nice 'n snug around the back of my head and don't bounce around. The sound quality is great and they are also water/sweat resistant which is a nice feature for a sweaty guy like me.
Don't expect much in terms of quality materials... unfortunately they are made of a cheap looking plastic material, so you have to be gentle with them.
Good for my daily jog though.

you might need to look into something like this. they are kind of a pain to get set up and you'll almost definitely need some help... I know I sure did. But once it is up and running I think you will be pleasantly surprised wit how easy it becomes to keep al of your clothes separated and organized.
Just having the different areas to hang and stack clothes makes a huge difference in keeping things sorted.
You don't have to set it up like it's done in the picture...in fact there are a number of ways you can go about setting it up. If you have the space for it, I would suggest trying out this option... it might open up a whole new world of organization!!!

If price is an issue, this is probably all you need right here, especially if you don't intend on using it too much in the future.
It's kind of cheap feeling because it's made of kind of cheap materials, but it works and is dependable, and will certainly be useful on your plane ride.

everything about osprey is awesome! they look cool, they're made well, and they are mega comfy.
i use this pack all the time for day hikes and even travelling as a carry on. it's a good material as far as durability goes, so i don't mind taking it on planes and stuff.
comfortable straps, easy zip system, weight displacement to your hips, lots of 'cargo' room. perfect little daypack. all the space you need, none that you don't.

This is a nice little tablet. Don't expect to get anything on par with an iPad for under 200, but if you know a little about computers you will be able to expand and customize this thing to perfectly suit your needs.
It has a nice touchscreen experience and crisp picture. Fairly easy to get going on it... although it required some manipulating to get it running the way I wanted it to. (may have to download a custom rom) also has great battery life.... upwards of 6, 7 hours.
Some cons are that it is heavy for being so small! Also, the screen doesn't handle much sunlight very well, and the built in camera kind of blows.
All in all for 200 bucks you're getting a nice tablet that can be adapted to your lifestyle and personal needs.

Ha I do that too and also feel like Huck Finn. I think it's a pretty cool look. More for functionality than looks for me though. I like to wear jeans most of the time...certainly my pant of choice. Sometimes it's just too darn hot for jeans though, so I just roll 'em up.
My girlfriend loves the rolled up look for some reason. She's always like "ohh that is cute." She doesn't want me to wear shorts because she likes the rolled up look so much. Weirdo.

I was actually surprised at the quality of this jacket when I received it. For the price I paid I was expecting something that felt sort of okay, but easy to tell that it's not high quality. Boy was I wrong.
This thing is 100% wool and looks and feels like it. Soft, light, pretty looking wool.... way better than it looks in the amazon pictures. They make it look sort of polyester-ish, which was what I though I was getting.
If I were writing to Dear Abby my name would be "Pleasantly Surprised'.

Awesome weather resistant jacket with mp3 pocket. Warm, too. I like the outrageous colors and the fact that it has a hood.
It has a little mp3 player pocket conveniently located within headphone cable range (right inside).
Great for dealing with precipitation. It's not 100% waterproof, but it does protect you from mild rain and wind and stuff. I love it.

I used to do quite a bit of rock climbing and wore these for bouldering (climbing smaller rocks with no ropes). Very comfortable pants. They're loose fitting enough for bouldering, so they would definitely work for yoga.
Prana makes excellent climbing gear, so that should tell you something right there about the quality of this stuff. You can't mess around with climbing gear because it's your safety that's involved! Great stuff comes out of this company.
Also, you know you will be being friendly to the environment because these are made of recycled plastic and hemp... and yes I promise they're comfortable! They're soft and stretchy.
How do they do it!? No idea. Great pants.

This is a ridiculously soft and smooth as silk (even though it's not silk) kimono. A beautiful piece of material with gorgeous patterns on it, and the inside lining is actually a contrasting color to the blue you see in the picture.
I suggest this to you mostly for its soft material, though. It feels so soft and light it really does feel like real silk. Amazing. Polyester and rayon, I think. Who knew it you could get something so luxurious for such a great price?!!

This is a great looking bag and that's durable as hell. Has a laptop compartment (fits my 15" no problem) and ample space for books and binders and what have you.
The straps are deliciously comfortable which I really appreciate around finals time as I get bogged down with work and materials.
it's not waterproof, but it holds up to weather ok.
Great for adults because there aren't tons of fancy graphics all over it.

This is the answer to your problems man! The only single bike holder I know of. Fits thule roof rack and most factory racks, too (even round bars).
Easily attaches to the roof rack. I thought it would be difficult to put the bike all the way up on the roof of my SUV (I'm 5'10") but it was a cinch. Literally just reach up and set in on there... sans front tire, of course.
The front clasp locks down around the front tire axel holes and holds it incredibly sturdily. The tire is strapped down with a Thule buckle. That bike won't go anywhere.
My only complaint is a very minor one, because the thing works very well all the way around and is very solid. My little tiny complaint is that the front clamp gets difficult to open after a couple years of use. I'm sure it's just rain and weather getting to it, and it's not impossible to open, it just requires a hefty upward shove to open it.
But hey, I'd rather have it be hard to open than hard to keep closed! And for that I am thankful.

Go with the original wayfarer. The ultimate in style.
They are of course very well made and fantastic at blocking sun because they are made by Ray Ban. YOu will definitely not be disappointed with these, as long as ou are in to the look.
Perfect for hipsters or anyone who is too cool for their own good.

you could look into something like this. it's for extreme situations like when you're stuck in your vehicle or something, and supposedly breaks car windows pretty easily (don't let any car thieves find out about these!) and cuts through seat belts, too. i have one in my console just for my own piece of mind but hopefully i never have to find out if it works!

I don't like how silk feels too much. admittedly it is soft, but if i have any perspiration at all, or if it's humid at all i can't wear silk. it sticks to my body and feels icky. That's why I go the flannel route. A lightweight flannel like this will rock your world. So light, it almost feels like you're wearing nothing at all.
Flannel has this way of caressing your skin in such a gentle way.... oh man I want to put my pjs on now!

I would say invest in a real nice shirt like this. The thing is, if you need to look fashion forward, chances are your interviewer knows a thing or two about fashion. So you don't want to go in there with a cheap shirt. This is your one time to impress, so you need to look your very best.
This is a nice looking fitted shirt. Nice material, nice pattern.
I would also recommend going to Express. The associates there always know how to help because they're all into fashion. Tell them what you are looking for and they will point you in the right direction.

These are pretty nice pj's... not as nice as silk but also not as expensive.... not even close. They're just so soft on your skin! The feel great. The satin is a pretty close replica of real silk - one my wallet can agree with.

What a fantastically ornate boot. I think if you're gonna get a cowboy boot you ought to get something that goes all out with its westernness.
Laredo makes a great boot all the way around. Comfortable, stylish, attractive, durable. This one even has the little gold accent on the toe....whoa! Talk about finishing touches.
I would recommend purchasing some boot socks if you buy these boots. They will be very comfortable, but probly only with boot socks in there as a little buffer zone, at least at first.

This is an interesting idea that you should try out. It straps sort of diagonally across the back of your passenger seat (like a messenger bag), where its pockets are easily accessible from the back seat. It has a good amount of storage space and is a little more attractive than a lot of organizers I've seen. Has that sleek Thule appeal.
Even more convenient is the fact that one can turn the bag around and have it in the passenger seat. This is ideal for travelling alone, and actually was the main reason I bought the bag. I do a lot of travelling alone, and it's nice to have a place to securely store my snacks and other necessities like kleenex without having to depend on a passenger.
great bag by a great company! i highly sugest it.

This is the best briefcase EVER! It is the ultimate in style and functionality.
Full grain leather, ultra sleek design, easy to adjust shoulder strap, key-lock front clasp, and it even fits my 17 inch laptop.
I love how sleek the design is in general.... i'm not into big bulky brief cases. I take it everywhere, just about 5 days a week and after 5 -6 months it has held up wonderfully.
I highly recommend this briefcase to the professional businessman/woman who wants to look especially professional and businessman-y.

This is a classic, high quality leather shoe that will form wonderfully to your foot and you won't want to take them off.
Just like a nice pair of jeans in that way. They eventually loosen enough to take on the shape of your foot and all of its natural curves and such. A shoe you will fall in love with... at least that's what happened to me!
Right away you will see that it is a high grade leather, and high quality shoe all the way around.
i like this classic look, and would argue that it's sort of timeless, so you probably won't need another shoe for a while.
This is a great buy. If you like quality shoes, buy these.

I own this shoe and am more than pleased with it. When i got it the toe area was too tight, but now that i've worn them in a bit they are perfect. Great for everyday use... can be worn around as a casual (fashion forward) shoe, or dressed up for the fanciest occasions.

Simple and beautiful, with a dramatic contrast between the black face and the silver. It's simple and elegant. The perfect silver watch. The face isn't disrupted my all sorts of dials and stuff... the bare minimum. That's why I love it. Minimalistic.

technically this is a messenger bag, but i use it as a briefcase. it being a messenger bag only means that it's even easier to carry around with you! it fits a laptop nicely and some notebooks... you know, the usual.
I like the convenience and i like that I can also use it for plane travel.
The leather looks and smells good and the stitching looks, from what I can tell, more than adequate.
anyway I'm very happy with mine and you would probably get a ton of use out of it!

I really like this color. This may be out of your price range but I've owned a Tasso Elba jacket before and it was definitely high quality stuff. A great two button blazer. This one is made of wool and has an attractive plaid pattern and a notched lapel.

When I saw your interest in loafers I immediately thought of these. Penny loafers. This is a wonderfully cobbled shoe with a suede upper. So soft you won't ever want to wear socks with them.
This is by far the coolest looking loafer around. You should look into penny loafers for sure!

I like this one because I think it's a little less bolo tie-ish than many I've seen. It's a little sleeker and slightly understated....most bolos have a big piece of silver or turquoise out on display. This one has a little story on there - a little moment in time. This glorious eagle is about to swoop down and collect its dinner for the evening in the most patriotic fashion.
Bolos seem so American to me for some reason.
This is a nice one!

A low cut, mesh upper shoe is what you need. Columbia is awesome and these shoes are too!
These will be rugged enough for the terrain but ventilated and light enough for the weather.

I think something like this would work great for you. If this isn't the right size, there are tons more similar products on amazon.
I've played in a couple bands before, and I never had any need for a case like this, but everyone around me seemed to have one! I know from carrying them that they are tough as nails and made of heavy duty stuff.
They have a nice twist snap lock and ample padding. Great design throughout.

I have one of these. It's great except for the massaging. It is so weak it's just annoying. But the lumbar support is fabulous and so is the fact that it heats up! The heat is great for relaxing those lower back muscles on long trips
I would say it's a pretty darn good deal in general.

this is a wicked windbreaker right here. it looks as good as it performs, too. it's not a light, breathable material. this thing has a water resistant, wind proof shell that blocks the elements from getting to your core. nicely crafted, feels good on. i like the way it fits, too. not too huge. one of the more stylish windbreakers I've seen. I actually wear it as a 'fashion' coat, not just a wind breaker.

This is a beautiful sweater! It's like a woven linen, semi-light sweater. It's such a handsome sweater, I think due to the notched B neck. just a very classy look.
It's comfortable, too you can wear it with nothing underneath if you wish. great for going out on the town at night!

I'm always tying to find something new and different to break up the monotony of every day fashion. This is an awesome accessory! These belts are super cool, easy to use, and look fabulous. They're well made, too. Always smell like leather...yum.
A solid, well built belt.

This might be what you're looking for. I have a pair of these that I absolutely LOVE. they are so comfortable and lightweight, a meshy upper that breaths. light enough for hot sunny days.
They have lots of styles and colors, too. So shop around a bit.

This bag has some pros and cons, but if it fits your lifestyle it's a fantastic purchase. First of all, the good stuff.
It's made completely of 100% cotton canvas, so it's got that real, rugged army feel to it right off the bat. This stuff is durable, as we all know, I mean they use stuff like this in the army for crying out loud.
It looks great and is very durable - minimal wear on mine after 4 months of use. It's also pretty inexpensive.
A couple of cons to consider: the top flap doesn't attach directly to the top opening (like a zipper would). Instead, it has velcro on the outside of the bag and inside of the lid flap. This works ok, but if you have a full bag the top will be exposed to rain and the velcro may not work because it's set too low on the bag. This is kind of frustrating, but only on rainy days...
Basically it just doesn't close very well. If that doesn't bother you, it's a great bag!

This is a pretty nice little piano all the way around - except it's not 88 keys. It can be hard to find a nice 88 key piano in this price range. This has 76, so it'sa full octave short.
I own this piano and use it a lot for practice, song writing, and as a midi interface. It's great for that.
I'm not a trained piano player, but I am a trained musician, so I sort of know what I'm talking about!
The biggest issue I have with it is that the keys aren't weighted - so the action doesn't feel entirely real. They try to recreate it with technology, but of course this is near impossible. The action is ok at best.
The piano is very easy to navigate and use for a newbie, and has lots of different instrument voices to choose from, some better than others.
I like that it has built in speakers. This eliminates the need for an amp.
Also has a metronome, and can record and loop stuff.
Great piano for what I need - but by no means professional grade.

if you wanna impress the ladies you need to look fancy and rich and sophisticated.
wear a nice button up from a quality place like express or something - not kohl's. wear a blazer if it's cool outside- a sporty one if you don't want to look too dressed up.
wear some nice slacks - gray, khaki or dark blue. jeans are cool too but everyone wears jeans and you want to look better than eveyone.
a nice watch is a good way to flounce your style.
also, get some stylish shoes for your self. shoes say a lot about a man. you should have a nice pair of brown casal shoes (not sketchers) for things like this.

The first word that came into my mind when I first saw this watch was literally, "Stunning." I think this watch looks so beautiful with it's wide face and crisp white backdrop. The little details are truly amazing on this guy. Nice leather band, too, and very accurate time keeping.
I will warn you that will certainly hear it tick... it's pretty big and loud. Doesn't bother me because it's not super loud or anything, but I have had people bring it up and ask me if my watch was broken!
Great watch, especially fo the easily aesthetically pleased.

Check out this crazyness.
BEWARE: WAAAAAAAAy out of your price range, so don't get excited. just though I'd show you this thing. I've heard one before. Insanely loud.

I think DC is always a good choice, I mean they are probably the industry leader (maybe vans...I don't know) and for a reason....they make super comfortable shoes that are attractive and durable.
Their shoes always have tons of padding - which actually helps with support, too- and they just feel really good to wear and skate in. They look good, obviously.

Plaid is always a good option because it will never really go out of style. Also, I own this very scarf and it's great for this time of year (and all year, really) because it's so lightweight and soft. I love this scarf.

I would recommend waxing your car once before they start laying salt. Use a high quality wax or get it done professionally. This will ensure you at least start with some sort of barrier against the salt. Get it waxed again about 3,4 months later. This will really help save your exterior paint.

I've always loved Diadora's shoes. They just tend to fit my foot better than anything else. The kangaroo leather is not only comfortable, but seems to grip the ball unlike anything else I've played with. Also, as a side note, I like a shoe with a white bottom. Why? Cuz it looks awesome when someone is running and you can see these little flashes of white against the black shoe. purely aesthetic for sure, but a nice detail nonetheless.
