Neither are fantastic. Beats is overpriced, and Skullcandy doesn't last for a week. Get a nice pair of Bose or Sennheisers, you'll be surprised.

Agreed with Mr M. We can't give you a suggestion if you don't tell us what you intend to do on the laptop. Casual? Work? Gaming?

SCP-87-B
Indie game. Played Amnesia with no problem, then I played this and at every corner shot tornados out of my pants. Give it a try, and be scarred.

Best one in the price:performance ratio

What socket do you have? The Noctua is the best for most, but if you have LGA 2011 then you'll need the newer version.

Dark souls, the whole entire freaking game.

Anything for me!
Don't come on though, if you're just looking for games. This is a great community, and you shouldn't spoil it...

Looks like your RAM is defective, or you may be sticking it in the wrong slot. The reason you need multiple may be because you're sticking the second one in the right slot. Try different memory slots, and if that doesn't work you've got defective sticks.

No, this is not a joke. You get nothing for catching them all. The worst ending to the best game.

There is no chance that any game ever is better than this.

Basically every Asari in the Mass Effect universe ever. *_*

Yeah!
Improved everything. Ending to a spectacular, monumental story. Hoping to set benchmarks.

Halo 3 had a fantastic soundtrack composed by a master, Mark O'Connor. Check it out on iTunes, i guarentee no disappointment.

You could take it as an omen for an upgrade. Sell some parts, get a nice Mobo, have some fun!

It would be nice to know your price range, and whether you are upgrading or replacing, and your case specifications. If you're looking for something in the same range, I'd go with an EVGA GTX 560 Ti.

Frankly... Skyrim. It was a fantastic game, but it felt more like a simulator to me than an RPG, also lacked tactics and well-designed combat.

My favorite game. Deep and immersive storyline, great visuals, facial animations, and once again fantastic story.
A must have if you're planning on getting #3, also!

I feel that after finishing the game and Playing countless custom stories, I am no longer scared of the game. They would have to up the story and change up the gameplay for me to stay interested.

Adobe Reader. You're screwed without it.
If you're looking for something fun, however... Steam!

My friend built a pretty badass one back in the day where he took all the hardware from the original Xbox and made a LapBox. Pretty sweet.

In anticipation! They are just such good games anyway that they have value on their own. Don't get them for anticipation! Get them for themselves!

Building a bad computer will not make your game lag. All you need is a nice internet connection. If you want it to look good however, I would research how to build a PC. I've seen builds on http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ that are literally just about as much as an iPad that can play Skyrim or BF3 without too much trouble. Good luck!

Crysis, if played on max settings on PC could quite frankly blow NASA supercomputer's guts out. Crysis 2...meh.

Amazing in every aspect. John Marston is an immersive and entertaining mix between cowboy badass and emotional family-overwatch. An all around spectacular game, for anyone to enjoy.

I would see what's best for you! Research, friend. The beauty of desktops is that they are so customizable that depending on what you want to do, you can have a very sharp system.
If you have the time, research on how to build one. You can save hundreds of dollars, and frankly have a lot of fun.

Are you looking for a recording mic or performing? I can give some suggestions either way.

Totally depends on where you are! That's probably a better question for google, though.

Unfortunately, because I hate to give you such an obvious answer, Battlefield 3. There are so many games that have much more potential and replay value on consoles, but on PC this is probably the way to go. Audio is great, gameplay is great, engine is great. The things that bug me about it though are the lack of attention the fans (a dlc was promised by now... Karkand excluded), lacking story, and the recent influx of undealt with hackers.
Good game, if not spectacular.

Arguably the best Nintendo stationary console series ever. A fresh, fun perspective on fighting games with all of the favorite Nintendo characters!

Here's the new Half life 2 mod, that pits you in a dark alley to find your past. Supposed to be really scary! Enjoy :)

If you're looking for the BEST, this is your pick. It's huge. HUGE. Has a ridiculous amount of tubing mounts, plenty of space for a radiator, and looks damn cool. Coolermaster's top level case.
A bit pricey-but you're asking for the best.
If you want a good case for water cooling but aren't able to spend 300 on this, I would agree with Ali Knowles and go for the HAF 912. It's coolermaster's mid-top range case, and by far the most purchased on any computer hardware store.
Good luck!

Or also Halo Reach. I'm sure you played it even though not listed, but on the off chance you have not, it plays just as well on co-op as on multiplayer or campaign!
Unfortunately, your question is a little too open ended. Assuming you really mean anything, I would go with Mass Effect 2! Best game I have ever played, and should prep you for the upcoming release of ME3. Have fun!

Actually, the hexacores are not over $1000. This is the Core i7-3930 for $600. I have it overclocked to 4.8 GHz! A beast of a CPU: the best for gaming and working! Really fantastic CPU.

A tad over your budget, but worth it. By far the most trusted and best looking monitor out there.

Bioware and Bungee.
Bioware makes spectacular games, never fails.
Bungee, not so much for the spectacular games because they've really only had their chance to shine on the Halo series, but rather because they are so integrated with their fans. They pay the utmost attention to them and are always providing new content and humor for everyone!

Wait for Mass Effect 3! The demo is spectacular. The multiplayer is all co-op based, and according to most reviewers, "Does not suck" as previously thought.
Cheers!

This has won all sorts of awards, and keeps my system at 24 degrees Celcius! Incredible.
Of things that matter, I'm running:
Intel i7 Sandy bridge-e 3930
Evga superclocked gtx 580
Hyper 212 evo heatsink
Asus Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011
Cosmos II (colossal, reccomend this case to anyone looking for such)
Have fun!
Probably ME3, also.
Just wanted to point out how interesting Halo 4 could be though! 343 could take it in either a great, fresh direction, or strip it of its roots. We'll see!
This is what I have! Looks to fit your budget exactly.
Nice, driven bass, with a soaring treble. Feels well built, look great. Enjoy!
Khajiits are cool, but really don't have the best abilities considering you can substitue candelight (an alteration spell) for night eye, and their claws really don't help often. I like the Orcs, wish I had gone with them.
In the end, it comes down to your play style! Do you like to smash mudcrabs faces in with a warhammer or pin a Frostbite Spider down with poisonous arrows? Most of all, if you don't choose Nord, are you going to be okay with the Stormcloaks racist rants?
Have fun!

Although it is considered the hardest game of the year (besides QWOP, of course) Dark Souls pits you against unspeakably good gameplay. I bought Dark Souls after seeing a comparison on IGN and Dark Souls winning, and I can guarentee it was the best drunk decision I've ever made to go out and buy that game that night, at 2 am.
Skyrim and Dark Souls are both RPGs, with the only difference being Skyrim being heavily gameplay focused and Dark Souls being heavily combat focused and solely third person. This may sound like a hack&slash, but I can tell you that from the first moments of the game, hacking and slashing will get you nowhere.
So, if you enjoy Skyrim, give Dark Souls a try. Not many people play it, but on http://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls/ you can see a strong community who all have good things to say about it. Happy hunting!
If you're not ruling out third-persons, then ME2. Favorite game of all time because:
Story is AMAZING. In my and family's opinion, the best story since halo.
Still looks fantastic. Keeps up to date technically after years have passed.
Facial animations are spectacular! So much better than Skyrim. Not that I don't love Skyrim.
Tech/Biotic powers give a fantastic option for combat.feels great to use. In line with this, everything feels great to use. Shooting a giant mech gives a satisfying pop as its shields go down, shooting a rocket launcher gives a swoosh as plasma is expelled, sniper gives a great crack as you pull off a headshot on an unsuspecting Drell.
In my humble (and many others') Mass Effect II was comparable to a Star Wars for gaming. I guarentee you would love it, as so many of us have. Please, Please give it a go. Such an underplayed game.
Halo 2 had it all- the graphics, the gameplay, the sound, and my personal favorite, the story. If you can make books on the story, and good ones at that, you know you have depth to the game. Halo 2 was a great, immersive experience that really set the bar high for future games. The multiplayer matched the campaign in terms of innovation.
To all the people saying BF3-- why? I like the game, but frankly it was way overhyped in my opinion and really doesn't innovate but plays off of other elements of gameplay. It had a campaign that was honestly very mediocre and the multiplayer doesn't really push the envelope besides the Frostbite 2.0. I don't want a fanboy war or stupid comments about it's great because it's new/better than MW3. Why do you think that it is such a great and immersive experience like I explained for Halo 2?
Online, this is where all the know-hows go. They're known for great deals on computer parts if you're looking to buy your own, and deep cuts on pre-builts. Hope it helps.
Depends on how cheap you want it. This is what I used, pretty good for a novice DJ
Make sure you have a second sound card on your computer! I didn't and I had to wait over a year until I could build my own desktop with a second sound card. Yes--it is necessary.
Sitting on my desk, using this monitor, I can only try to put into words how eyegasmic it is compared to anything else my friends have.
The reviews on Newegg speak for themselves anyway.
No. I have played them. Although my friends call me a BF fanboy, I did like the previous games and I think that MW3 is ok when playing with friends (and using teamwork). Despite this, paying fifteen - sixty dollars is NOT ok and I can guarentee you after playing them that they're really not worth five dollars anyway.
