I think a simple Mr. Coffee is the way to go!
It's inexpensive and extremely simple. I think that's about all you need for an office coffee maker... that and a good brand that will keep going for a while (which it is).

This is a really cool little microwave by Whirlpool.... and when I say "little" I really mean it! So small... .5 cubic ft. That is quite small, but it's still big enough to be functional, especially for popcorn. Even has a quick touch popcorn button. It's designed to sit in the corner, to be as out of the way as possible.
Small, out of the way, great for popcorn!

Hi Charles, I think this would be a good one. It is built of solid components, all the way around.
-Shatter-resistant polycarbonate pitcher (56oz)
-Die-cast metal base
-Stainless steel blades
-Steel reinforced coupler
Actually in the product description durability is one of their main selling points, so they really meant for it to be a solid piece of equipment. And it is!

Hm I don't know what kind of budget you have or what kind if volume you need to shred, but here is the one I recommend. I know that the brand is good and that it can effectively shred a large quantity of paper.
It's designed for office use, so it has a more powerful motor and larger capacity than you might usually find. (up to 18 sheets at a time, with a 45 minute run time. whew!)
Also has a pretty useful jam proof system, which seems to work quite effectively as well.
It should be able to keep up with a good sized business.
|
|
|
|
|
This is designed for moderate shredding in the home/home office. It's a very nice paper shredder, and although a bit expensive, I think it's well worth the price.
It cuts confetti style, which is obviously excellent for security. Also cuts CDs and credit cards.
Another great thing is that it cuts through all this stuff fairly quietly, which makes it great for using at home. Fellowes makes a great shredder... this thing will be wonderful for you.

Yup, these vertical mice are good for people who experience wrist pain while they use the computer. Completely changes the way your arm lines up and reduces stress on your wrist.... a more natural position. You probably already know that, though, and that's why you asked about it!
These are good mice, rated very highly on the net. People actually seem to notice the ergonomic advantages it gives them, and I assume you will too. Try it out!

Complete with a gaming grade laser I think you will find this mouse can be used on just about any flat surface. Laser tends to be the best for using on a variety of surfaces. It's also programmable and has adjustable (on the fly) DPI switching, AND you can change the weight of the mouse by adding these little weights that come with it. A customizable gaming experience right here. I think you will love it.

I would go with the Apple keyboard personally. It's a bit expensive but like other Apple products it's built well, works well, and will last a long time. Connects via Bluetooth.
I love the simple, sleek design. It looks great. Very slim and portable.
Requires 2 AA's to operate.

These are nice keyboards and certainly a great value, especially for a mechanical keyboard.
-Compatible with Mac
-Cherry MX blue mechanical key switches
-Detachable wrist pad
-Great tactile response
|
|
|
|
|
I would say this is one of the best you will find at a decent price range.... although I also want to mention (and you may already know this) that laser printers really are not ideal for printing photos. They just cannot provide the same print quality as an inkjet printer.
However, this one actually seems to do some decent photo prints and certainly does text and graphics well.
Also has wireless capabilities, as per your request.

Depending on what you are looking for these might be perfect. I like them because they give you a TON of bass, without distorting sound quality. Actually, the sound quality is pretty good all the way around, although I wouldn't really recommend them for jogging or travel use too much because the sound isn't super clear since there is so much bass. Don't let this discourage you though. If you are at your desk or just walking around they sound really good! Big full sound... some of the best bass I've heard on an earbud.

Hey Frank, this looks like a sweet sweet deal here. I like plasma, don't know about you, but they tend to be good for sports because the technology they employ enables them to have very high refresh rates.... like 600 hz equivalent. Sports will look really good...I'm talking zero motion blur. Plus, this is just a nice looking unit al the way around!
I definitely think this would be a really good investment for anyone interested in watching sports and possibly even gaming as well.

Anything from AKG or Sennheiser would be the obvious first choice of many "audiophiles" because they make truly amazing headphones.
So does Beyerdynamic.
Beyerdynamic is, I think, as good as any headphone company worldwide. They have a fabulous blend of comfort and extremely high quality audio technology. The open design yields an unprecedented quality of sound while being comfortable on your head for hours at a time. Don't over look Beyerdynamic!

Try these out, I think you will like them. Pretty darn good headset for $20.
Sound quality is about what you would expect for his price point, so don't expect a miracle. They have a detachable and adjustable noise-canceling boom microphone and are lightweight and should be pretty comfortable.
Word to the wise - the only real complaint I can see about these is that they are a bit delicate (some might say they are made with cheap materials) but such is to be expected for $20.

Mine doesn't have that much to do with an actual game but one time (back in the day) my friend and I were playing Silent Hill 2 in the middle of the night, when something sudden and extremely startling happened (I don't remember exactly what it was). Well, she was holding a bowl of popcorn and just like in a freakin movie she somehow jumped up onto the couch she was sitting on, spilling the popcorn everywhere. So now instead of enjoying the scariness of the game we had to clean up popcorn, which isn't nearly as scary or fun as Silent Hill 2.

Both the used and refurbished versions of this phone can be purchased for under $200. I don't know what carrier you prefer though!

Yeah the 4s has a way better camera (with flash), Siri, faster processer, 1080p video recording (vs. 720), plus a couple other features that make it a slightly better phone. If these features are important to you, then yes it's worth it! if not, go with iPhone 4.... it's still a hell of a phone.

AKG makes a good set. I like the semi open style too, as it allows for better sound quality than, say, closed style or earbuds. Studio style!
These are really lightweight... you won't even know they're on your head.... until you hear the sweet sweet sounds.
One thing worth mentioning is they don't have an inline amp, so don't get them if you want a huge punchy sound. But what they will deliver is accurate, rich sounds, which is generally what people want anyways.

Hi Belinda,
At this price point you ought to consider these AKGs. Awesome brand. I'm glad you mentioned semi-open because I really like the semi-open style. Comfortable and very high-quality audio.
These offer a very high frequency range and dynamic range. The fact that they are 'vented' obviously means they don't really do any noise canceling, but this design also enables higher sound quality.

I think you are definitely headed in the right direction by going with these instead of Beats. I've tried Beats phones and yeah, they're pretty nice, but I don't see how they justify charging as much as they do.
AT has been in the business for a very long time, certainly longer than Beats. The ATH-M50 is a professional headphone, and will give you a true studio quality experience.
Get 'em! That's what I say.

This little guy is quite interesting if you ask me!
Especially aesthetically! I like the huge lens on the small camera... pretty charming.
It's the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera... that's pretty interesting. Has some good features, too, like 14.2 MP, up to 7 fps shooting, and ISO 12800 sensitivity. Also shoots full HD video, and has a tilting 3.0-inch6 LCD. Cool stuff, Sony. Verrrrry interesting :)

This would be a good choice if you really want to shoot RAW. It has RAW mode with Windows Imaging Component, which allows you to take and edit pictures in RAW mode with Windows Vista. This is a great feature in itself because certain photo editing software cannot edit RAW images, so it's nice to know you will be able to with Vista. Also does geotagging, which is pretty fun. Lots of other great features on this thing... check out the link!

I would think the screen is the most important aspect of the "durability rating" here. The Eee Pad Prime uses Corning Gorilla Glass for its screen, so I think this would be the best choice for you. That stuff is tough tough tough.
Also, you mentioned that you travel a lot, well you will also be pleased to know that Eee Pad has some of the best battery life in the biz, at 8-9 hours by itself and up to 17 hours with the keyboard attached.

Check out this Toshiba! Surprisingly good internal specs and other features will make it an excellent travel companion.
For those internal highlights, you get 2.4 GHz Intel i5 processer, 6 GB SDRAM, and a 640 GB 5400 rpm hard drive... pretty good stuff!
As far as features go, it's the perfect travel size (13"), has excellent battery life (they claim up to 9 hours, but even 6 or 7 is really good), and it only weighs 3.2 pounds.
Toshiba is a good brand, so you can trust it will have a solid build... in fact, that's one of the best parts. The outside is an ultradurable magnesium alloy casing. perfect for the road! check it out.

Man I hate to put a Walmart link on here, but....
I don't know much about routers, to be completely honest. I do know that Linksys is a reputable brand though, so I think this would be a nice option for you. Sorry I don't know more about it!

For a ridiculously fast gaming laptop in your price range you could look into this beast from MSI. This thing can really rock some serious games... you will not be disappointed! Aside from it being rather large and quite bulky, it has tons of impressive specs inside. Here's what you get:
Intel Core i7 processer
12GB DDR3 system memory
1TB (500GB x 2) hard drive
15.6 full HD Display (1920 x 1080)
NVIDIA Geforce GTX560M 1.5G GDDR5 graphics
Windows 7 Home Premium
I mean c'mon that's pretty ridiculous. Might be too much for you, depending on how serious you are about gaming! (I know it would be overkill for me!)

If you are looking for a tablet that you can still see the screen in sunlight, I don't think it exists! All of them are pretty similar in terms of reflection... they do their best but too much sun yields impossible viewing conditions.
That being said, my iPad works pretty well outside in my yard/porch, as long as it's not too sunny. I actually use it outside quite frequently, and rarely find a time where it's TOO sunny to use it, but it does happen occasionally. Not really designed for that though!

Okay so this is going way way back, but I will always think of Final Fantasy 7 as the best game ever. There is something about this game that is so appealing to me! From the story line to the characters to the game play to the world it all exists in, it's an all encompassing, engaging masterpiece of a game. Just thinking about it makes me want to play the whole freaking thing over again.
Best game ever.

I have to go with Bret on this one. it's hard to deny the raw power and precision at which Macs process video and music editing. They make it easy, painless and fun.
Especially since you said you need a laptop to START editing videos with.... I think you will appreciate the simplicity of the Mac. If you can afford it you will definitely be happy with it.
|
|
|
|
|
In a lot of ways Macs are synonymous with music and movie editing. It's kind of odd because PC's are just as capable as macs, but I guess lack the dependability and stability of a mac in general. I think there are plenty of PCs out there for this price that would do an equally good job at movie editing, but I happen to enjoy using macs, so I'll go ahead and suggest this one.
It's in your price range, and it comes with iMovie pre loaded. I know it's not the most advanced editing software in the world, but if you're just doing a video project for school or something it will suffice. It will actually be great because it's so easy to use. You can always buy more advanced software later as needed.
I'm not going to go into the specs because they are listed on the link if you want them (and it's a macbook, so we know it's a good machine!) but I just want to say that if you can afford this thing you should get it! They are wonderful, dependable machines and they make editing a fun process. So easy to use, so you can get right down to business immediately!
Good luck on your project!

Check out the Satellite. This is a great computer for school. good size, simple enough, and lots of power on the inside. it has 6gb ddr3, a 750 gb serial ata hard drive, and an Intel i7 processor. Really good stuff for under $900.
It will excel for school work and internet and word processing stuff... I mean it will definitely do everything you would need a schooling laptop to do!
It also has a full number pad, which I have really come to appreciate with my computer. Just makes life a little easier!
|
|
|
|
|
These get pretty good reviews, and I think 15.6" is a reasonable size for portability. Not too small but not too big. Has some good gaming specs:
2.2 GHz Intel processor
8 GB DIMM
750 GB 5400 rpm hard drive
Nvidia GTX 560M 2GB DDR5
Asus makes a solid product. You should check it out and read what some reviewers have to say about it!

To me, this would be your best choice at this price range.
Plasma TVs are excellent for watching sports because they have virtually no motion blur. Great LCD screens have refresh rates of 120 or 240Hz, while Plasma screens like this produce the equivalent of 600 Hz... they use different technology than LCD so it's hard to equate the two, but in general sports/anything moving quickly will look clearer on Plasma. So there's that.
It's also just a bomb TV. 1080p full HD, 3D capable, and it's even wifi ready.
excellent choice if you ask me.
|
|
|
|
|
Watching movies is like my favorite thing to do and I understand wanting a nice TV on which to enjoy your favorite flics! Gotta have something with a big, bright, clear and vivid display. That's most important. You'll also want some decent sound. This Samsung will certainly deliver. It has full HD with 1080 resolution.
For movie watching options you can connect to your home network to stream movies, music and photos from your DLNA certified devices like your computer, network storage drive, or whatever. The sound should be great with SRS' TheaterSound technology, and you can also use it as a PC monitor, should the need arise.
So yeah it looks good to me! Happy movie watching!
