Bioware, Bethesda, Valve, and Firaxis. Most have already been said, minus Firaxis (known for Sid Meyer and the Civ series).

Nintendo N64. Its a classic system that you can get with a good library of games and accessories for all around $100 on eBay. Its a great system with fantastic games and its definitely cheaper than other newer consoles. Start off with games like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Brothers, Banjo-Kazooie, and there are tons more. If you tell me what type of games he likes, I can recommend titles for N64.

I haven't heard anything about Fallout 4, but I did happen to notice that Bethesda Online Studios recently had a lot of job postings. Could mean they are going all out on a Fallout MMO.

Mass Effect 3 is coming out really soon AND it is really the perfect combination of Battlefield and Skyrim.

I would recommend a few different games, I would recommend the F.E.A.R. series. I have actually never played it, but I have heard great things. I would also recommend Bioshock and Bioshock 2. Great games and are just really creepy and fun. Another game that isn't "scary" per se, but really good and has really intense parts that make you jump out of your seat is the original Half Life. Nothing freaks me out more in games than when I am walking in a dark hall in HL and a head crap comes out of no where to take the last of my health away.

Game is a classic. It was the game the really put Bioware on the map. It also popularized the light/dark side system for RPGs. Best story I have ever experienced in a game. My jaw literally dropped at one point in the game. Highly recommend to avid RPGers looking for a different experience than flashy graphics and modern gameplay. Go enjoy a fantastically made game with dice rolls and an awesome story.

Star Wars: The Old Republic. It is already the fastest growing MMO in history. It will definitely change the whole market for MMOs.

It is a great game on the PC. I don't know if it has an active online community still or not. There used to be a free demo on Microsoft's website but that was years ago and I am not sure if its there anymore.

A good game that can be played on anything (even netbooks) is Warcraft 3. Everyone forgets how great it was and still is and it runs on anything.

EBay is the best place fore buying old systems. Usually cheap and has a good selection. I recently bought and N64 from a flea market and have since bought about 25 games for it on eBay. I don't think I spent more than 7 or 8 dollars on any of them.

I hate those moods. I tend to just close my eyes and pick. I was in one of those moods the other day so I fired up my old Spore game and finally reached the center of the universe a few hours ago.

Definitely go with a PC. I switched over to PC Gaming from console a few years ago and have never looked back. The mouse and keyboard is the perfect control scheme for any game. I personally like all shooters better on PC. I would pick PC over Xbox any day.

Gaming Mice are something that is an investment. Make sure it fits right. Got to the store and feel some. I have the Razer DeathAdder. It is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. It is simple and fast. Its around $60 so out of your price range.

Both of the Half-Lifes are $10 on Steam and they are fantastic. Everything you could want from a $60 blockbuster game, except so much better. Two of my favorite and arguably the best of all time.

I can't seriously get excited about mobile gaming. Not since the days of games like Pokemon which actually were deep. Now its who can make the pretty game with the simplest controls.

I would still happily pay to play this game, and I have had it for 5 years. I can still remember my best moments over the years. Thousands of head shots, turret kills, backstabs, and crockets later, I still love every second of this game.

If you are looking for more of an action shooter (so not multiplayer first, but good single player games) I would go with Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Both are $10 so you can get both under your budget. They are both fantastic games that changed the industry. Half Life is an older game, but its innovative story telling and gameplay make it a delight to play still. Half-Life 2 is still, in my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made. It just does so much right, and nothing wrong.

With a new Verizon contract you can get the Galaxy Nexus for around $300. I have had it since release and i absolutely love it. The hardware is solid and the screen is gorgeous. Its a 4.65 inch screen but it doesn't feel big in your pocket thanks to the thin body and slight curve of the phone. The best part by far is Android 4.0 (or Ice Cream Sandwich). It is a huge step up from all previous Android builds. I love this phone and wouldn't switch for anything else out right now (except maybe the Galaxy Note if it were on Verizon).

I suggest learning to play "non-realistic" shooters. The first FPS I played online was the original Halo for the PC. It got my comfortable with my keyboard. I can run, jump, and aim comfortably all at the same time. From there I started to play Quake 3 with some friends and I couldn't believe how much better than them I was at first. I was bulls-eyeing rockets while flying through the air, and they could barely run and shoot effectively. Its all about practice, but I would recommend a game you can play online that isn't super competitive. This can be achieved for free by finding a good Team Fortress 2 server that is your skill level. (TF2 is free on Steam). There are plenty of other games out there that can help. If you don't want to play online yet, and get better first, I would recommend a game like Unreal Tournament 2004. When I play offline, I feel the intensity of playing with people because the AI mimics tactics well. Practice playing games where you have to do many things at once, and soon each thing gets easier and easier, till you can break it up and can do all of them skillfully.

This game has become a standard for post release updates in the industry. Since release, TF2 has received over 200 updates to the game. Everyone of these has improved the game. I have been playing it since launch and I still love every second of it. It is perfectly balanced between 9 different classes. Each is completely unique in not only weapons, but also in play style. Only Valve can make a game that can be played 9 different ways, and not only is one of them not OP or the clear winner, BUT teams need all 9 to compete.

I have had this mouse for a few years now and I will never switch to anything else. It fits my hand perfectly, performs well, is cheap and simple. Only has two thumb buttons, but I find that perfect because I am not pushing wrong buttons or trying to figure out which binding is which. Simple, cheap, and comfortable, overall a solid choice.

I would say buy both Half-Life 1 and 2 (combined for less than $25). They both redefined gaming when they released and still are two of my favorite games to play. Great gameplay, fantastic and innovative story-line. Overall incredible games.

If you loved Skyrim than I would recommend Oblivion. If you want to try something different I would recommend the Mass Effect series. I played both on PC and fell head over heels for them. Will not take as long as Skyrim (I am a completionist and each at its max took me around 50 hours), but you keep the same character throughout the series so really you play the same character for more than 50 hours. Your decisions dynamically change the game (and subsequent games). I have never felt so immersed in a game universe before. I am in impatient person and I never play games twice, but I have played through both of them twice already, and after the third comes out in March, ill probably end up playing through all of them at least 3 times.

I would recommend playing the Half-Life franchise. You can get all 3 originals (of which the original is fantastic and the second is also very good) for $15 or you can get the whole series for $39.99 (or mix and match but I recommend at least the original Half Life and Half Life 2 and the episodes if you can afford them). Half Life really changed gaming when it originally came out. It successfully created the silent hero. Valve proved that you didn't need cutscenes (let alone the ability to talk) to become immersed in a fantastic story. Half Life is perfectly paced and has great gameplay. Half Life 2 would be in my top 5 favorite games of all time by taking that formula and making it even better. Gordon Freeman, is arguably on of gaming's greatest heroes, while the mysterious G-Man is a chilling and fantastic villain that is seen by many as the best of all time. I am still absolutely furious at Valve for making me wait so long for the final installment of the episodes.

Alright I am going to start by saying that this game doesn't stay under $75 for very long because after a month, a subscription is required. That being said, I would recommend it anyway because this is a game that you can play for years and never have the same experience twice. I have so far put around 30-50 hours in and I am not even max level. This game tells the story of an intergalactic war between the Republic and Empire through the eyes of eight different classes. Each of the classes has a different story line, each with 200 hours of content. If you did the math that is 16000 hours of gameplay!!! If you by a six month subscription it is 12.99 a month. So if you are playing games at a fast pace and buying new ones for $60, every few months, than this not only saves you money, but is an incredible game that could be one of if not my absolute favorite of all time. I am playing in a world with tons of people, but I still feel like I am the most important person in the whole galaxy. 11/10.

I have many games that I would say are my favorites, but there is something different about Oblivion. I played it for the PC (technically I still am playing it) and started a few years ago and still haven't finished. I have put at least 100 hours into that game and I still have at least 50-60 to go. In those 100 hours I have become the Champion of the Arena, rose the ranks to become the leader of both the Thieve's and Assassin's Guild, among many other things. I have never got to a point in that game where I wished I could skip it or move on. I actually even abhor doing the main story line because I feel like I won't want to do everything else there is to offer. That possibilities are endless, and so is the entertainment.
