If you are looking for an E-Reader, the Fire has way too much going on.
I love my Kindle, but I only wanted it to read books with, I wouldn't suggest the Fire as an iPad replacement though.. :/

Emulator/Rom combinations give you the classic games, which include fighters! And they are free.. but "illegal.."

Awesome. Everything.

Emulators are a great way to play classic video games on new systems!
They use low amounts of processing (unless you go to a high end emulator) and have all the titles. There are also third party programs that allow you to play multiplayer via internet/LAN

I rant about this a lot.
Very in-depth and detailed storyline with well developed characters.
(Don't play the Gameboy sequel. Ever.)
Worst Final Fantasy (Unique) ever.. Linear plot, boring leveling system, HORRIBLE combat.. storyline was rather generic..
I was so sad when I played this..
I think if they had writers of the same mindset as the originals, it could go great places, but sadly they decided to hire people of the same mindset as Disney, and gave us that horrendous sequel..
I still play this on my SNES! Orchid is crazy.
I would love to see them remake it, but usually with remakes, especially fighting games, they break something that makes the game loose that special awesomeness (I.e. Marvel vs. Capcom).

Nostalgia and classics.

Ranch dressing is an all time favorite for everyone, and it is really easy to make!
I usually do one part Sour Cream to one part Mayo, throw in some chopped garlic ('cause I love garlic!), add parsley, rosemary, chives, onion powder, and black pepper. It tastes great and is relatively cheap!

Homemade trail mix type of stuff is usually the best for a on-the-go healthy snack.
If you have the funds/time dehydrating your own fruit and veggies to cut down on the added sugar is in a lot of store-bought products.
Nuts have great nutritional value, Walnuts and Almonds are the two best as far as nutrition goes, but Pistachios, Almonds, and Brazil nuts taste better and pack great nutrition as well!
Try to throw some whole grains, Kashi's "Go Lean" has great fiber and crunch to add to the mix!

What was your favorite parts of Skyrim? Gameplay? Storyline? Fantasy base?
Skyrim is the fifth installment in the "Elder Scrolls" series; "Oblivion," the predecessor to Skyrim was quite good as well..

Overall I would say Square, but I feel they have gone downhill a lot lately.
Recently, I would say Bioware; they have put out a few great RPG's with wonderful elements.
Although DA2 was a horrible game that was pushed far too quickly, i fell they are doing well with the Mass Effect Trilogy, and look forward to the new installment. (Note; I did not like the second as much as the first, so here's to hoping they don't keep going downhill)

These are entertaining for a while, with a wide character selection it keeps the entertainment value a little more extended.
Again, as any hack and slash type, they get repetitive, but are fun with friends, and to make a drinking game out of..
This, and the second are really good, and have gotten rave reviews. Live action, feels a lot like Diablo.
Multiple available classes, sequel has even more. Entertaining, but can get a bit repetitive..
Great quirky fun RPG, local Co-op in combat.
Tales has always been reliably entertaining; also live action battles
Two player co-op, kind of a generic RPG, which doesn't mean it is bad.
It is definitely playable, just a little slow, and the storyline takes a major WTF moment walfway through, but it is local co-op in combat
Not a very well known game, but it has great animation as well as an amazing soundtrack (Chopin), a unique kind of storyline, and fun combat system, which is local multiplayer.
Downside; Abilities are repetitive, and it is a very linear game.
But it is fun, attractive, and different..
Also, now I am going to check out Amnesia.. Hadn't heard of it until you; and it looks interesting..

Have you tried the Fatal Frame series? It is Japanese horror, so some of it is that sort of, startle horror, but it is pretty suspense-full. I really enjoyed them when they first came out.

New-age video games have lost their overall value.
The main goal of most games I see put out is about getting the best looking graphics, and thye lose a lot of quality storylines, characters, character development, and gameplay.
In Example, Mass Effect, the first one had a diverse and expansive world, an innovative and intriguing storyline with well-developed characters and history.
Mass Effect 2 had the well developed backstory for the characters, but the quests were extremely limited, it was relatively linear storyline with only a hand-full of sidequests, and gameplay was nothing unique. Granted, I enjoyed the game, but it wasn't that new, or innovative.
The Classic video games bring in expansive storylines, as well as a difficulty level that is no longer present in today's video games. Mass Effect 2 is very beatable on insanity level the first playthrough; that is not okay.
Today's video games are about financial gain: appealing to the largest crowd, and "dumbing" down to keep those players playing, and coming back.

How is Skyrim, or any of the elder scrolls, NOT open world RPG's?
What is your definition of "Open Wilderness?"
I heard as well it was not as good as it was reviewed/expected to be.
Storyline was lacking and gameplay was repetitive; it was also not expansive and limiting.
The best are usually dependent on your own preferences..
Some people base them off their favorite games, game characters, or some use adages, or variants thereof..
Just play around with things you like, and figure one out for yourself!

It releases on the 3rd, and is a great storyline, if you haven't played the others, they are definitely worth the price!

Handcent SMS!
It isn't a game, but it has amazing customizing options for your Text Messages!

For me, I play it for the great storyline, so I would want to go with whatever system I had played the other versions on: for you, the PC.
This game though I feel was made with console in mind though..
I haven't heard if the Multiplayer will be cross platform, so here's to hoping it will!

If you are using windows, and it doesn't "Auto Play" (open the file automatically), then you can click on/open the "My Computer" window, and it should display your local disk drives.
You would be looking for a "Removable Disk", or it may even have the title of the phone; once opened it will display a lot of files, so depending on what you are looking for, you might have to dig around for a bit.
I use a Droid, and the photos I take with the camera are stored under the folder named "DCIM."

If you are unsure of the reliability against Craigslist and buying from private sellers, Gamestop guarantees their products, so there is that comfort by paying a little extra.
100$ for a working system is a bit low, and I would be cautious as to if it was boosted or not.. be careful, and be sure to ask to see it turned on and playing a game before finalizing!

I am not sure if this is "Mainstream shit" but it is a great multiplayer game.

Verizon limited theirs, in the same way AT&T did..
I think it is 3 gigs/month is at 30 USD p/m, and for 1 gig p/m is 20 USD p/m? Something like that..
Sprint is your best option, if it is a main factor, as they still have the unlimited plan..

Great gameplay, leveling system, funny dialog..
Story is a bit.. "eh" though

Threadless.com has anything your imagination could think of printed on a shirt; if they don't have it, submit your idea to hopefully get printed!

Could I say neither? I think thoughtful gifts are worth far more than any financial value..
Make him a watch? You can purchase leather at local leather shops, or boot repair places, and make a band? Watch faces can be easily taken off any other watches, or special ordered.
Edit;
It is always the thought that counts, though truly.

These games are amazing, great for solo smashing, or group fun.
Also, I bought a Wii, just for this game.. :|

Holy goodness! It is a great FPS with a well written post-apocalyptic world running rampant with mutated monsters and gang thugs.
Gameplay is relatively generic to any fast-paced FPS, it isn't a dodge and shoot kind of game, think, "Time Crisis" as far as shooter style goes. Your character levels as well, gaining stats, as well as allowing ability allotments.
You are given the choice between 4 different classes, each with unique abilities, and weapon restrictions.
There are great characters, and well written backstories. The voice acting is well done, also!
This is definitely a game worth purchasing, more-so now that it is so cheap. There will be a sequel releasing soon, too!

I just DL'ed "Rusty Hearts," and it is really great looking, as well as intriguing gameplay, and multiplayer.

This is a great local (to me) organization that deals in organic seeds. If you are local as well, you can "volunteer" your time and they give you seeds in thanks!

This stuff is downright glorious.
It also is eco-friendly!
Mrs Meyer's has a few different eco-friendly cleaning products, though I wouldn't suggest the dish soap as it has given my dishes a perpetual taste of basil soap.. it does not taste as good as it smells..
This stuff is amazing. I use it on copper, silver, steel.. any metal that tarnishes. It has a fiberous product, soaked in its formula, that you tear off in small amounts and work your metal.
It does its job quickly, and looks great. (Plus it smells pretty good too :/ )
I have this one and it gets the job done, while being very affordable. Due to it's low volume, it doesn't work well with entertaining, but it is great for one to two people.
There is only an on/off setting (really it is plugged in or not), and no temp adjustment, so watch your recipies, some products may need to be pre-cooked
I definitely agree with the ice-cream maker! I have one myself, and making your own honestly tastes so amazing. It comes out light and refreshing, not heavy and overly sweetened like the shelf products.
I really enjoy a fresh peach ice cream on a summer evening, and it always impresses guests.

I recently got a Kenmore machine off of Craigslist for an amazing price, and I am so stoked I did.
I grabbed it to start teaching myself about the basics on sewing, and to hopefully graduate to making my own clothing, and this machine will carry me through.
All the parts that I have needed were easily located at a local sewing/vacuum specialty shop for very reasonable pricing. I have had it for about 3 months and I haven't had any issues past adding the few pieces it didn't come with. It stitches very evenly, and has about 12 different stitch settings, as well as length/width customization. Great piece for a beginner!
Good luck, definitely a tradeskill that is becoming lost to the ages.

There is no remedy. Once a product shrinks it is irreversible.
The wool fibers go through a process called felting that tightens and shrinks the fibers. If you knit a product with felting in mind, it is an amazing end product, soft and durable. If it wasn't your goal then you sadly lost that article...
New outfit for your dog..?

I love this stuff. Their other version's smell great as well, but this one is by far my favorite.
And it being old spice, it is a well tested product with obvious great results.
The smell is definitely strong for about 30 minutes, but dissipates to a manageable level. a great blend of musk and a subtle sweetness.

Threadless.com has amazing user-created shirts with large varieties on prints and shirt colors.
Shirts also run between 10-20 bucks, so it is great for what you get!

At this time in the season there will be a lot of sales, as well as clearance, happening for the end of the season; I bought a great coat, MSRP 85 USD for 15 at a local big box store.
That said, the TAVIK hoodie looks great, and with the simple pattern and color scheme could go well with many looks.
I would say it depends on your area, but I would prefer to receive a watch over a set of SunGlasses. I'd make more use out of a watch, and it would go with more looks, where a set of glasses would (theoretically) be limited to outdoor events and not get the mileage a watch would..
It will be hard to find a good quality leather jacket within that price range; I would browse sites like Craigslist and Amazon for used products. Leather lasts a lifetime, so you can find old jackets for good deals, plus vintage looks great on anyone.
JCPenny's usually carries a few leather jacket options, but I would not stand by their quality, or their ability to hold up against a spill.
Always a fan of Aviator glasses (Without mirrored lenses). They add a fun feel to your look while still maintaining and air of professionalism.

JCPenny's is a great place to shop for Big and Tall; they ALWAYS have sales on going in-store, but selection may be a bit limited depending on your location, but there is always the option to odrer online or through the catalog.

Bowties can go great with any dress shirt, it is about color matching, without clashing with patterns.
Adding a solid tie to a busy shirt creates a great accent and focal point to the shirt, keeping people from getting lost in the chaos of a loud shirt; a great patterned tie can bring a boring solid shirt alive by doing the same: creating a focal point to keep the shirt from looking like a wall of color.
Don't be afraid to just pick up random ties and lay them against shirts at the store..
A bow tie is a great idea to dress up a casual look!
Try not to make it stand out too much, if you are tying it, but a louder tie would work well if you hang it untied casually around your neck. Dresses down the tie a bit, adds a great accent, and looks good.

There are older models that I am sure you could find at a cheap price, though.

Gamestop/EB Games guarantees their games for 7 days, no questions asked. You can find a lot of used games under 25$, and they often have sales.
Otherwise Amazon.com and Craigslist are your best bet..

This is a great multiplayer action RPG.
It has beautiful graphics, and an amazing soundtrack, as it is based on Chopin's "Dream state" that he was in during his coma before he passed away.
Again, these graphics are beautiful, one of my favorite styles. The storyline is really interesting, and relatively unique. Soundtrack is Great. Combat is fun and active; you even get to combine abilities with your friend!
Downside, storyline is VERY linear, there is no exploration at all, and definitely no back tracking to old towns. Also, some of the abilities share the same graphics, with different color schemes.

I think 3 years may be a bit young to be able to fully utilize the iphone, and it's cost wouldn't be the most ideal.
Leap frog has great technologies for infants through toddlers, they are great for stimulating the mind and expanding thought processes, vocabulary, diction, etc.
If you are on a budget and can find the product for a good price, I say go for it.
Refurbished products generally have a relatively good guarantee attached with them, for the very reason posted here; No one trusts them.
I have purchased and have had no problems with my refurbished products; but there is always the chance you will get a bad egg.
I live on a pretty tight budget, being a starving college student, and I always appreciate great deals, so I would definitely give it a chance. Always buy from reputable dealers though, and check for guarantees!
If you can talk to a real person, try finding out why the product needed to be refurbished? Software issues are very simple to fix, and hardware usually can just be swapped out; if you are nervous, research the product and any known issues that others have had with it.
Good luck!

Going Classic Here;
This game has one of the most interesting and in-depth stories I have ever read/played. The world, the characters, the back-story, the minor details in the game made it so fun to play, let alone the gameplay. I still replay this game, and am never bored of the story. (Please, forget the GameBoy version was ever made, it was such a horrible story. [PSP Version is OK, same exact story, just added two new classes])
The gameplay, if you have never played it, is a tactical RPG. Grid layout battlefield, turn based rounds, and each turn the character is allowed a move and an action. There are 17 different classes, as well as characters added through the storyline having their own unique abilities. You are able to recruit as many characters as you want (Including Monsters), and there are I believe about 15 unique characters to the storyline.
It is a simple, but VERY well executed Game.

A lot of the Apps for eReaders have most of their features in Common, a lot of the difference lies in their aesthetics; if you are wanting something basic and reliable, I would definitely suggest the Kindle for Android App.
Kobo is prettier; great interactive UI that can link to your Facebook account, and with "in-app achievements" it congratulates you on progressing through your library. I haven't actually purchased any books through the Kobo, but they have a couple free ones available when you DL the app, and I believe they rotate through other free ones.
There is a free version available on the Android Market, it is Scrabble with your friends!
The app allows up to 20 different games to be running simultaneously, and as there is no time limit to your turn, you can take your time! There are adverts after every play, which can get a little annoying, but as the app is free, I think it is completely worth it!
You can search for friends by username, or search for random opponents. Also allows to be linked to Facebook if you are into that.
One sad note is that you do not earn the additional 50 points when using all 7 of your letters.. :(
This is a joke started by an internet community. Just stop responding to the texts and they will bore and stop sending them to you. It is a person typing all that out, and it is not automated.

I use, and love, my Kindle, without Touchscreen, or even a keyboard. It weighs i think 6 ounces, and is simple. No Bells and whistles to distract from the book.
Navigation is simple, although their filing system I think leaves a lot to be wanted, it is still cheap, efficient, and great battery life! No extra programs or "features" to gum up your experience, simple, and great!
Edit:
I will say, I have not used a Kindle Fire, but I feel it is too much like a Tablet, and I only wanted a EReader, so I cannot say if a Fire is Good, or Bad..
I don't think that they can be adequately compared! They are so different, and have their own advantages and disadvantages!
I personally prefer RPG's, as I become very enveloped in a good storyline and character development. FPS's are fun for just "Pew-Pew-ing" and not for sustained interaction due to what I feel becomes repetitions and mundane.
A few good combinations would be Mass Effect (1 &2, and soon 3) (Sci-Fi), Fallout Series (Post-apocalyptic), Elder Scrolls (Fantasy), Borderlands (Post-Apocalyptic), and there are definitely others.. These all provide expansive storylines with well developed characters, shooter style gameplay, high paced action and combat, as well as great Character Advancement/Customization!
Mass Effect (1 & 2) are great games, with well developed characters and intriguing, interactive, and evolving storyline. With the third installment we are promised even more story-line involvement with more apparent impact to the story/world. The Gameplay is much like Gears of War and KOTOR, but you have reticles which when accessed, pause gameplay and allow use of class specific abilities. Characters develop with level gains and point allotment to further customize their abilities, as well as allignment changes based on your choices throughout the storyline.
Another awesome aspect of this series is that the choices you make in a game carries over into the next game, making a more personalized game, depending on when you started the trilogy!
Classic Greatness with many hours logged into this game. Definitely great for parties, and you can rotate out players for large groups!

Free Text based MMORPG! It is different, and is text driven, but it can be really fun and exciting.
They also have a couple other games with different flavours.
Edit;
Just Saw you wanted specific to Steam, which Achaea is not. It is based in web browser, but there are a couple of Applications you can download to support MUD's.
A bit different, but it is a text based MMORPG.
It is free to play, and has a pay system for advantages, but you can get the full experience for free. It is a very well written back story with in-depth characters and involved and active moderators, who play as the gods.
There are other games made by the same company with different stories and worlds, so a few flavors for what you like.
They also will be releasing a sci-fi version in the near future, if that is your interest.

I loved this phone for a long time before I went Smart Phone. It is durable, and has both a Qwerty keyboard, as well as a number pad. With two screens it was very handy for quick-texting, time/date stamp, etc.
Definitely one of my favorite phones, and I still consider going back to it. I am sure you can find them cheap on craigslist, or ebay, for a good price, well below 100 USD.
