This is one of the highest rated vacuums I can find on the net. It doesn't seem to have any big issues that get in the way of making it great. It sucks up everything in its path and is very versatile, complete with hose and attachments (for those crevices).
It seems like a great value-to-performance ratio. Affordable, powerful, versatile.
To make it even better, the lift away feature allows you to lift the entire canister off the vacuum, to really get where you usually can't.

Well I don't think you can really expedite popcorn too much or it might explode! But if you are looking for something that is powerful and fast in general, and also does popcorn well, this would be a good one.
It has a popcorn button, so basically just push it and walk away..... although it's always a good idea to keep an eye on it...
But yeah with 1250 watts (that's a lot for a microwave) you should have plenty of power for fast cooking.

I think the answer is yes, you can find a good one, but maybe not a great one. The main reason I say that is you won't find a very high capacity shredder at this price point, but you can find a slid medium duty one like this.
It's from Amazon Basics, and they come out with some good stuff. Can do about 600 sheets per day if you need it to, cross cut style, up to 12 at a time (although to be safe I would keep it around 6-8). Also shreds cd's and credit cards. Probly your best bet at this price point.

I'm going to recommend Dell's XPS model. These are very powerful and Dell makes a good product. It's offered in various shapes and sizes, so if this exact model isn't what you need you should look into other versions of the XPS. Here is what it has to offer:

These seem to be what you are looking for. they are from a really good company and they are lightweight and over the ear style. They have an open air design which facilitates very high audio quality as well as comfort - wear them all day and you won't even feel 'em.

I thought it just referred to the fact that it was created by an individual or individuals without financial support from any video game publisher, and also distributed independently. For this reason Indie games are often less well known, and not main stream, and that is what people think indie means. This may seem ridiculous and silly (which it is) but I use cord monkeys and they work really well! Of course a cheaper option would be twisty ties, but I like cord monkeys because they hold really solidly and are cute. Plus, unlike a twisty tie, you can not only wrap all your cords together, but actually attach them to the back of your entertainment center to keep them out of view. Great little product!

This looks like a solid option to me, and it's way under your price point. I like the behind the head style for running... I don't know about you, but for me they stay in place very well and also stay out of my way. They are light and unobtrusive.
They have an inline mic as well as inline music and mic control, so you can answer calls and change volume/songs without skipping a beat. These also come with a clip so you can keep the wire out of your way.
One more important detail is that they are waterproof and can even be rinsed off under running water, to keep them clean after a long sweaty workout.
Very well designed if you ask me.

Best in terms of value is certainly a subjective question, but we can throw some suggestions at you! Personally, I think Nikon's 3100 is the best all around camera in terms of performance, features, specs, and price. I have to recommend the D80 because I know a couple different people who use them and get fantastic results. These are great for shooting bands and really any low light situation. You will, of course, have to get yourself a nice lens to go with it.
It has a decently sized, 10.2-megapixel CCD that should capture plenty of detail for large, photo-quality prints.
It has some great features that make shooting live music pretty cool. One such feature is burst mode, which allows for capture of 3 frames per second, for up to 100 pictures. You can get some amazing pics shooting like this.
Adaptability will be important, as no two venues are the same, so you will appreciate shutter speeds from 30 to 1/4,000 seconds. This will help with different shooting situations... quite versatile.
I think the most important thing here, though, is this camera's low light abilities. To adjust for different lighting conditions, sensitivity can be set manually between ISO speeds of 100 and 1600 in 1/3-EV increments, (or boosted even higher using the HI-0.3, HI-0.7 or HI-1 settings). Add to that the camera's large sensor and low light shooting will be a pleasure, assuming the right ISO and aperture settings!

This is the one I would recommend. It was recommended at some point on Tom's Hardware which is why I bought it. It's an awesome video card!! Amazing graphic upgrade for me.
One warning for you- it's big! It's probably gonna take up 2 slots just for the sheer size of it! Worth it though.

Okay so this isn't one of those "hot" items for 2011but it is totally the best bronzer around, if you ask me at least.
So what do I like so much about it that makes it worth $32? I think it is superior to a lot of products in a few key ways, one being texture and the way it feels on my face. It's very light, like it's not even there. I would say in that way it is the gentlest on my skin, too.
Another thing is I prefer the slight brown tint to the orange tint that a lot of other bronzers have. More natural looking, which I certainly appreciate.
The only thing I don't like is the price! But when I find a product I really like I tend to develop a sort of loyalty to the product, so I'm sure I'll be purchasing again!

I would also like to recommend this HP all-in-one. I'm quite fond of HP printers, actually. This one has served me well, with no real problems to speak of, except of course the occasional paper jam.
The scary part to me was having to set up the wireless....or at least I thought it was going to be scary, turned out to be super easy.
I also want to mention image quality. As far as I can tell, it's right on par with any good printer in its class... very crisp images.

I don't know if you've ever heard of this brand before, but you wil find these a lot in studios across the country...not super high-end studios, but personal or local studios. The reason why is they are excellent studio mics, especially for the price.They are very versatile... I have found they capture guitar, vocals, and even overhead drums equally well.
Like they advertise, is is a VERY low-noise mic. I really appreciate this for the type of music I record. I record lots of jazz/folk/pop in my at-home studio and this is the main mic I use. Very happy with the results across the board. This little kit is nice, too. You get a shock mount AND a pop filter with it.
You won't really find a better deal as far as I'm aware of!
Highly recommended based on my experiences!

This is a really great cost-effective vacuum sealer. I bought it because the price was so reasonable I thought, "what the heck?" I'm glad I bought it because I do my shopping at Costco and always have lots of leftovers!
It is really easy to figure out and I think you will really enjoy how fresh your food will be.
Only complaint is that it is a bit bulky and has a short cord...a bit annoying but I can live with it.

Well if you don't mind soft mouse pads I would recommend this pad, mostly because it's only ten bucks. Pay more than that and I think you're getting ripped off. it's just a mouse pad. Plus, a laser mouse doesn't even really need a mouse pad to work, so don't spend more than you have to. This one will work perfectly, and it's only ten dollars.

It's a rectangle piece of cloth, so you should be able to figure out how to make it work as a wrap on your head.

This is what I have been using at school and it works great for me. I mean, it's nothing spectacular, and it's not super fast, but it works for papers and stuff for school. And, most importantly, it's under $100, so it's definitely suitable for a college environment!
As far as durability, I've had mine for a couple years now with no problems, although I wouldn't really say it's been tested at all....I mean I take good care of it so it hasn't been abused at all.
I would definitely suggest this to you as a good college printer, and not much more.

Well I might be a bit biased towards Macbooks because I have been using them for the last 5 or so years, and I am an artist, so it's totally geared towards people like me. But I think $1200 is a good deal for such a well made, user friendly computer.
It does everything I could ever want it to do, and is surprisingly durable and resilient.... my current one I've had for about 2 1/2 years and I can honestly say there's not really anything wrong with it, and it's still quite fast.
I think by paying the extra money for a Mac you are sort of investing in yourself... you won't have to worry about viruses, durability, or your computer being outdated any tim soon.
Actually, in that way, ANY Macbook will be a good value! This one is the most middle ground of the Macbooks I would say.

This looks like the coolest printer ever..... a very sleek design! It will print from your iPad, ipod, or iPhone, easily. It also scans and copies, and is surprisingly fast, at about 30 ppm black and white, 25 color. Seems like a great purchase to me.

My dad is big into photography (so am I to an extent) and this is the printer he owns, and I use a lot! It prints some beautifully vivid colors, and I am always impressed with the way my pictures look.
Very high quality.
That being said, I don't ever have to deal with the logistics of the thing (or the finances!) and I know that it uses a lot of ink, and with 8 ink cartridges that can get expensive.
One more thing that's cool is it can print rather wide, up to 13 X 19...it's nice having that option to go large if you need to.

I think this is a good purchase for two reasons. One of course being protecting your privacy, and the other being protecting your computer screen! It acts as a nice extra layer between your screen and the elements.
As far as privacy, it truly works, in that you can only see the screen from right in front of it, and it darkens as you move to the side.
Why is it so expensive? I mean, it's a piece of plastic!!!!
I guess it's worth it to me.... there might be cheaper ones but not better ones :)

I have had a lot of luck with my conair! It's been about 8 or 9 months since I bought this thing and I am very happy with my results. I like the long 7' cord. I also like the strong airflow and even heat distribution.
The handle is comfortable to hold and the unit is fairly light so I don't get tired after a long hair drying sesh!

Yes I have heard of Scottevest and it sounds like a pretty nice product....assuming you have 22 different things that you need to take with you at any given moment, that are all about the same size. I guess that seems a little silly to me. I understand the concept -it's for travelling without a carry on, right? I am serious when I say that if you have 22 like sized things to take with you, this would work. But if you have that many things, wouldn't a carry on just be easier? I would feel all bogged down by my vest!
The vest itself seems nice. It's lightweight and teflon treated, so it should be stain-proof and water-resistant.
All I'm saying is I think's it's worth asking yourself if you would really ever need all those pockets :)

I have similar complaints as some other people do regarding this vacum, but overall it's such a powerful cleaner that I am happy to overlook its flaws and just deal with it!
The flaws are in the hoses and some of the parts.... and the flaw is that a lot of this attachments and hoses and stuff are made of seemingly cheap plastic. I had to order a replacement part to one of the hose attachments because it snapped after like 4 uses.
HOWEVER, I've never used such a powerful cleaner! It's amazing what this will pull out of your carpet. Also, it has a rinse feature that gets all the shampoo out of your carpet, post wash. So when you are done cleaning, your carpet will be not only CLEAN but SOFT and FLUFFY! Like brand new.
Awesome cleaner.... just be gentle!!

This is what I have been using for about two years. I love my results! It's at least somewhat natural... has some natural ingredients to go along with all those chemicals!
I like the color I can achieve with this stuff. I also like that my hair doesn't feel damaged at all when I am done using it.... on the contrary it feels soft and silky.
It's easy to apply, although you will also need some developer to activate it. I think it's a good step up from non permanent color because it's pretty gentle.

This is a pretty delightful little book. Lot's of good recipes from around the world....some bad ones, too. Stuffings from around the world are represented herein, and not just holiday stuffings, but year round stuffings.
Like I said, some of the stuffings are great, some not so great (I haven't tried all of them yet). I tend to use the book more as a guide then an exact recipe. I like to make my own substitutions where I see fit..... you might see similar opportunities.

I have somewhat oily skin and was afraid this might make it worse, but to my surprise and satisfaction it actually made it better!
It's a wonderful moisturizer with spf 30, which is wonderful because I don't have to put on another product.
As far as wrinkle reduction, I don't have lots of wrinkles, but I do have slight crows feet and occasional bagginess. This definitely makes the skin under my eyes feel tighter and healthier, and evens the skin tones in general. I see less bagginess and almost no wrinkles at all.

I use this Behringer for my live and studio needs and have no complaints! It works really well for me and has 12 channels... actually more than I need. I do a gig with a guitar player and Bass player, and I sing. This mixer is more than adequate for me, and like a said if you have the right software you can record with this mixer with fantastic results - I am so pleased with the demos we have made!

This is a pretty good book but it does assume you have a basic understanding of sleight of hand. There are no pictures! So you need to know sort of what you're doing before you get going.
But this book has many many tricks to learn... all good. This book has been around for like 60 years, teaching multiple generations the how to's of card tricks.
Don't let the lack of pictures scare you off though. His descriptions are great and you will be able to learn some awesome tricks.

This here is a really attractive sweater shirt. I love the offset horizontal lines they are very appealing to me. It has a nice slim cut and is 100% cotton so it will feel amazing on your skin. Definitely a good choice.

A great lightweight case with tons of padding. I like it because it has a little extra room in the main compartment and an extra exterior pocket, too. I tend to bring lots of stuff with me and this enables me!
I can actually fit a laptop and an ipad in the main compartment, and in the outer pocket I can fit my phone and power cords and notebooks and everything I need!
Great for travelling with a laptop based load, and some extras!
Comfortable shoulder strap, nice little carry handle.
The soft material at first seems a little cheap, abut it's definitely durable and protects my laptop sufficiently.

This is a great cleaner for carpet and upholstery stains. Nice to have around for spill emergencies!
Just spray it on, let it sit for a quick sec then scrub it around until the stain comes out. It takes care of just about any stain... of course it's more effective the faster you get to it.

I used to use exclusively proactive (which worked great) but decided to try something new for cost reasons. this stuff is very similar to proactive, works just as well, and certainly costs less. I love it.
3 easy steps and you are done.
don't expect results immediately, takes a week or two for things to really clear up for good, but wow it does do the trick. deep cleans and keeps acne at bay.
follow the directions and you can't really go wrong.

Although I personally like the Macbook Pro and it fits my lifestyle and needs better than a PC, I do think it's totally up to the user what the best computer is. Different computers are designed for different things so I consider it to be very much a subjective question.
Both computers are going to give you outstanding performance and speed (if we're talking comparative models here) because computers are just so darn powerful these days. It's incredible. It just depends on what you want your computer to be good at. I mostly use my mac for recording music and storing/playing music, and the internet. It perfect for me, I would never want anything else.
Macs are better for people like me who aren't very computer literate and need an easy to use operating system that almost self navigates in its simplicity.
Obviously price is a huge concern here.
A 13" Dell laptop with twice as much memory is going to cost you close to half as much. But you have to deal with windows and possibly viruses....
I would say in general Dell will give you more for your money but Macs are better to use.

It's really pretty easy. alls you do is measure from the crotch to the bottom of the hem.
easiest to do it while NOT wearing the pants!
make sure it's a pair of pants that fit you well without sagging too much because that will yield an improper measurement.

This is a pretty cool industrial looking leather wallet with a chain attached. I think it's quite subtle actually, especially compared to a lot of other wallet chains I've seen.

I bought this watch for my boyfriend last year and wow it has some awesome qualities and also some bad ones! But over all it keeps great time (wind it once a day!) and he likes it, and that is why I am recommending it to you!
So, the good stuff: it's made of really pretty stainless steel, has a simple, articulate face, and over all the design is sleek and elegant. Also has a little 'peep hole' as I call it - you can see what time it is without opening the watch. A real gentleman's watch, aesthetically at least.
Some problems: it only opens as far as you see in the pictures on Amazon (not even 90 degrees!) so that's annoying. Also, it is really lightweight, which is usually a good thing, but in the case of a watch it makes it feel cheap and delicate.

Overall he likes the watch and wears it almost everyday. And, it tells time accurately, so really what else matters?

I've had some luck with Gorilla glue on my shoes. This stuff is sticky! Like whoa!
Don't get it on your fingers or you will regret it!
Amazingly adhesive and tough. I would think it would fix just about any shoe problem.

It's a nicely designed little product that clips right on to the head rest or can connect under the floor mat. it works well and does help with clutter. My only complaint is that it's so small! Smaller than I expected. But it works well and I appreciate having it because my car is definitely cleaner. i just have to empty it all the time.

If you have access to a hair straightener, it just might work! Sounds dangerous, but I do little ironing touch ups with my straightener all the time and get great results.
Of course, it completely depends on the fabric in question. Cotton will work, probably nothing synthetic. In fact it would be safe to say only try it on cotton.
Just set the jacket on a flat surface, plug in the straightener, and gently (and carefully) squeeze either side of the lapel between the ceramic plates and in a quick motion slide it along the wrinkled area. make sure to do this in a safe and controlled fashion, and also be sure not to keep the straightener in one place for too long or it will burn that material.

I immediately though of a slip on like this. I see men wearing these all the time and they are a nice casual brown shoe. They are almost a dress shoe, but I think the fact that they slip on makes them slightly more casual. great with a pair of jeans or some khakis, these are the ultimate brown leather casual shoe for a guy!

AWESOME transmitter. I've had a couple before and had no luck finding a good station, finally someone bought this for me for my birthday and i am so thankful i finally have one that actually works!!!
Super easy to use, basically plug 'n play. plugs into your cigarette lighter for power. The unit itself is somewhat confusing because there are so few buttons, it seem like it can't do anything at first. But the remote control is very intuitive and easy to use and I recommend using it.
IPods sound great through this thing - better than my last one and that's a fact.
My only beef is that the transmission range sucks. The signal it puts out is clear and strong, but only from pretty close up there, so be prepared to mount it up close.
A great unit pretty much all the way around. Looks good, too.

They're also good for performing. If you're in a group with a bunch of people that need to look the same or need to change quickly. They're pretty cheap usually and go on and off really fast.

A beautiful scarf can go a long way. I think this one is beautiful. Add to almost any outfit for a little fall flare. It will keep you warm as the weather turns sour, and can shield your head from snow, too!
There tons of colors to choose from, and scarves can be really cheap, so get a variety!

This is a wonderful shoe for indoor and outdoor use alike. Just look at the pics and you can tell how obviously comfortable they are. Durable enough to wear outside, but soft enough to lounge around the house in.
Watch out- once you put them on, they may never come off...they're that comfortable!!!!!!
They also have a full length memory foam sole to go with all that fluffy lining. You won't believe how soft the insides feel on bare feet.
I know this is a mens slipper, but I own a pair! I had to buy some because they felt so good on my feet.
I highly suggest a pair of these to anyone and everyone.

Casio makes a really nice high end electronic piano and their lower priced models are great too. This one has tons of sounds and tones, and what's really great is it has speakers built right into it. Even has lessons for yo if you don't know how to play, although i've never tried them.
The sounds are all decent and so is the action - once again here's this phrase coming to mind - you get what you pay for!

Since you're willing to spend up to 100 bucks that gives you the possibility of getting a really nice pair of shades. I think this is a great sunglass option. Definitely get a brand he's gonna recognize right off the bat, that will help with shock value. Ray Bans are good, oakley too if he's into that style.

I would say if it's silk and it's dirty, you're out of luck (I'm guessing there's some sort of food on it?). Just because that stuff is so darn delicate!
I could only suggest dry cleaning. Probably $2 per tie. Do them all at once.

I think you should buy any shoe you want plus a pair of these, or something similar. It will be a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. As long as you're not doing anything too extreme they should last you through a couple pairs of shoes.
I find that most shoes I buy in general have inadequate cushion and support in the insole...like they overlook this detail for some reason. So these are nice to have around for that reason.
I am sure Dr. Scholls has an equally high quality product, I just happen to use/like these!
Oh and they make different types of insoles. This is for running, but the have them for work, walking, etc.

A nice slip on can b the key to a comfortable shoe. this one has a little padding in the sole for comfort. Slip ons are generally less rigid than other shoes and give a little more as you walk. Get 'em tight enough so they don't slip off!

I would try Urban Outfitters. I buy shirts for him there all the time, especially tees. he's pretty tall - 6'3" and skinny. Urban is one of the only places I can find long skinny tees for him. The material is nice and light, too. Great looking shirts.
