This is a touch over your budget, but I think it is defiantly worth the extra 50 bucks. I have had my on this TV for a while and I will hopefully be buying it very soon. This is the ultimate gaming and sports TV.
First off I have always been a fan of Vizio. I have bought several of their products and I have never had anything to complain about. I have a 32 inch vizio that I bought 6 years ago while I was in school and it still works just as good as it did the first day I bought It.
As far as gaming goes this TV has a really good setup. It has a 55 inch Display that is full HD(1080p) and TruLED. The refresh rate is 480Hz, which means there should be no blurring of any kind. It has a dynamic contrast of 10000000 : 1 and a response time of 4 ms. All of this together makes for a top of the line gaming setup.
As far as the design goes it is pretty average. There is nothing to crazy. You should have no problem mounting it on the wall or finding a TV stand to go with it.
A few other things you might like is the connectivity possibilities. There are 4 HDMI ports and several other video options including a Component Video and a VGA Port. It is also internet ready and comes with multiple apps to get you started. You can either connect it wirelessly or connect it to your network via an Ethernet cable. And last but not least it is 3D compatible.

This laptop by ASUS is a touch over your budget, but it has a lot of things that would make it a great laptop for travelling.
It has an AMD processor and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. The 500GB Hard Drive and the superMulti optical drive would work well for storing and playing media. The 15.6 inch display is LED and HD.(1366x768 Resolution).
The full keyboard will be nice if you have to work while on the road and it weighs under 6LBS which keeps it very mobile.
The only thing that I wish was better is the WebCam. It is built in so that is nice, but it is only 0.3MP. This quality could be a lot better.
All and all this is a good general use laptop. In my opinion it is one of the better laptops for travel in this price range.

I know this laptop is a little over your budget, but I think it might be as good as you are going to get. Just because you have a low budget doesn't mean you can't still play great games. You might not be able to play them on their highest setting, but you can still get fairly good results with something like this ASUS 53 series.
You get an average graphics setup with an AMD Radeon Card. A 15.6 Inch HD Display.(1366x768) As far as processing power you get an AMD Dual Core Processor and 3GB of RAM that can be expanded up to 8GB. You also get a 320 GB hard drive.
This computer is also very mobile weighing in at 5.72LBS and having a 15.6 inch monitor. All and all I am a huge fan of ASUS products. You usually do not have any problems, but if you do they have a really good customer service system. I know this might not be the ideal setup for gaming, but it is a good starting point.

I do not do a lot of software development, but I do dabble in some web development. When it comes to a good laptop for development I feel like this laptop from ASUS would have everything you need. I am a big fan of these products and although I have never developed any software on my ASUS I feel like it could handle just about anything you want to though at it.
It has a full keyboard which is great for logging data and it makes it easy to transition from your desktop to you laptop. You are getting one of the best CPUs on the market with the Intel i7 and there is also plenty of RAM which should keep your computer running smoothing, even when you overload it. I really like the 15" screen(1366x768), I thought about going with something that was 17 inches, but I wanted to make sure that it was mobile and I think anything larger would just be a burden. The design and build seem really solid.
The only two things I can complain about is the speakers and the battery life. They could both be better. The battery life is average at best, but the battery life could always be better. This laptop has a lot of things going for it, so it is easier to overlook the battery, but it is something to consider.
When all said in done, I don't think you will find anything with a better price to quality ratio. There are a lot of good products out there, but this one should be at the top of your list.

Like Sean said they seem to be pretty consistant in price. I feel like it might be a couple of years before the splitboard market gets competitive enough for merchants to lower prices. Great idea though and it looks like a lot of fun. I am stoked for winter. Be safe out there.

I am a big fan of otterbox cases. I also drop my phone a lot. I needed something that protected my phone, but at the same time I still wanted it to fit in my pocket. Oddly enough this is not an easy combination to find, but I have gotten good results from the defender case. I have dropped my phone 8-10 times without any problems. On top of good functionality I got mine for under 20 bucks off amazon. I don't think you will find a better case in this price range. Hope this helps.

I guess it depends on how far away your bed is from your TV stand, but I feel like a 32 inch is a pretty good size for a bed room TV. I have had a vizio for a couple of years now and to be honest i don't think I will ever buy a different brand of TV. The picture is great for all different kinds of viewing.(Sports, Blu-ray, HD, Gaming, Etc.) It is easy to use and it was ready to go out of the box. I messed around with the levels for a little while, but then I ended up leaving them on the factory settings. It has four HDMI ports and 2 - 10 watt speakers. There are a lot of good TVs out there, but I don't see how you could be disappointed with a Vizio. Hope this helps.

If the person you are buying for is a Zelda fan or a NES fan than this is a must buy. They have really smoothed the controls out and this is a great addition to one of the most popular franchises in video game history. I probably wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 6 or 7 years old, but for anyone above 7 years old, this game is both fun and challenging with all the classic characters. It should be at the top of any Wii fans christmas list.

There are some good Muzzle Loaders out there, but one of my favorites is the Savage 10 ML-II. I haven't had the opportunity to use it out in the field yet, but I did get to fire it a couple of times when my friend bought his. I know he really likes it and has had some good success with it. I think the thing that sets this one apart from the rest is the fact that you can use smokeless powder. This is awesome, especially if you tape your hunts.
This video isn't all that exciting, but it gives you a good idea of how little smoke is produced
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1TzpCl2_IE&nor...
All and all I feel like the 10 ML-II can compete with any Muzzle Loader out there. This is a good product that is easy to use and shoots straight. You can't really ask for much more in a muzzle Loader. Hope this helps. Good Luck out there and be safe.

I know it takes a little bit of effort, but there is a lot of great stuff on ebay. A lot of the gear is used, but skiing is one of those sports that people try to get into and then go once. I have got some really nice/lightly used gear off ebay. The bidding and and searching through products can be a little tiresome, but in the long run it might save you some money. It is funny to think about, but ebay has allowed me to pick up a ton of hobbys with a small budget. I know it might not be the niche marketplace you are looking for, but it is worth checking out.

This is what I use and I really like it. You don't really realize how bad your laptop speakers are until you use external speakers. For the size and price the sound quality is really good. With these being powered through your USB port, it makes them much more functional and mobile. My only complaint is they the is not much mid or low level bass output, but I didn't really expect there to be. It was wishful thinking I guess. These are well worth the 40 bucks.

It is tough to find good sound on a budget. I came across these and I really like them. The sound is much better than I expected and they are aesthetically pleasing. They are easy to set up and they don't take up a lot of room. I really don't think you will be able to find anything better for the price. All and all a good set of speakers.

I am trying to decide if I am going to upgrade too. I think I am going to hold off. I just got my 4 a couple of months ago and I don't see anything on the 4s I can't live without. I would have considered it if they would have gave it a bigger screen and made it thinner. I just don't think it is worth the cost of upgrading.

You might like this one. I was not all that familiar with the Hamilton brand, but I am happy with my purchase. The only thing I don't like is the brown band. I know this seems like a big deal, but I usually wear this watch to work so I have no problem finding clothes to go with it. I would consider this a good starter watch or a good work watch. It is very comfortable and it looks great. There is better stuff out there, but I don't see how you could be disappointed with this watch, especially when you take the price into consideration.

I went in as an absolute beginner to illustrator and this book really helped me. I liked it because it was easy enough for a beginner, but at the same time it really let you get in-depth. It was easy to read and follow. It really let you learn rather than just following step by step instructions. All and all this is a good book. I have never been a fan of learning out of a book, but I was happy with my experience.

I know this is a brand that only a few people have heard of, but I have to say that I am glad I took the risk and bought it. The only downside is that it is 720p rather than 1080p. I really don't think that there is that big of difference and I would rather have a 32 inch TV that is 720p compared to a 1080p TV that is only 22inches. It seems to be built very well and is easy to set up and use. I have it in my bed room, so I really don't do any gaming or anything like that on it. It has an above average picture and a 2 year warranty. I really cannot find much to complain about. It is at least worth checking out.

This is the computer that I use. Whether you love or hate HP I don't think you will be able to say that this is not a great deal. It has an Intel i5 processor so it should have no problem running any programe you throw at it, even programs like photoshop. It has a built in fingerprint reader so you have added security for your work documents. There is a built in webcam if you are doing business via Skype or go to my meeting. The battery life is average to above average. The mobility is great. It is small enough to carry around but large enough that you don't have to make adjustments to get work done.
The only thing I wish it had was a keypad. I have to do a lot of number entry for the work I do and this can be a pain with out a keypad. I bought an external one. I would buy this one all over again if I had to.

This is a good SSD that has a lot of things going for it. It runs quiet and cool. It was easy to install and I really don't think you will be able to find a better price for the quality that Intel offers. My computer is like a completely different computer since I installed it. It now has no problem running programs like photoshop and boot up is ridiculously fast. I can't find much to complain about. I would buy it all over again if I had too.

I know you are looking for something with a large HD, but I think this will work for everything else you want. It can stream in HD and it has a lot of apps(Netflix, Huluplus, Amazon, Pandora, etc) It is easy to use and setup. My only recommendation would be to wire it in rather than using your wireless router. This will take a little work, but it will drastically increase your streaming speed. As far as uploading your DVD library you will have to put it on an external harddrive and use the USB port. This can be difficult, but you will eventually find the ripping setting you like.

I really don't see how you could be disappointed with it. It is easily overclocked and runs cool. It should have no problem running any game or program you have. I know it runs everything I have with no issues.(Including adobe CS4) It runs at a low voltage and was easy to install. If you are doing mass amounts of video work I could see it becoming over loaded, but for the average user/gammer it should get the job done. I know I don't have any complaints and I have not seen many if any online. It is a good product.

I am going to say Xbox 360 controller hands down. It is perfect. It is not too bulky and it fits naturally into your hand. The controller is the only thing keeping me from buying a PS3.

I am a big fan of the Nook. I know Barnes and Noble has been having some financial problems, but I think the Nook is to valuable of a brand for it to go anywhere. Even if Barnes and Noble goes under the nook will still thrive. The nook is really easy to use and I think it is the only thing that can compete with the Kindle.
You can download books directly or you can use the online store to find the books that you want. The battery life could be better, but the small design makes it very easy to travel with. You can also read .epub books which is something you cannot do with the Kindle. This vastly increases the books you can read. All and all I think the Nook should be at the top of your list. It is at least worth checking out.

You should check out the Mazda MX-5 Miata ( http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action... ) It is a cool looking car and it is great if you are on a budget. I don't actually have one, but my friend does and I have driven it a couple of times. It is really smooth and it really gives you a sports car experience while not breaking the bank. I am a fan of the Stormy Blue Mica color.
Overall it has gotten pretty good scores from the experts. The only concerning thing is that it has not been crash tested in the last 6 years. That doesn't mean that there are not safety features, but there are no test to prove their effectiveness. In reality I don't think a convertible will get very good safety test results anyway. I don't think it is a deal breaker, but it is something to consider.

This is a tough question because there are so many games that offer so much. It is almost like you are playing the same game over and over if you look at it from a gameplay, difficulty, and graphics stand point. I am going to say Call of Duty: Black Ops(Online) and the Uncharted franchise.

I don't think that it is anything outstanding. If you like zombie games than you will enjoy it. It is not a game changer, but it is enjoyable. If you are looking for something entertaining than give it a shot.

I will start with the bad. For some reason they designed this card to be really long, which can be a problem in some cases. I didn't realize how long it was when I bought it so I had to do some rearranging, but I eventually got it figured out. It could also have a little more versatility as far as I/Os go, but it is still a good upgrade from the onboard sound.
With that being said this card still has a lot to offer. The sound quality is great and I think it really adds to the all around gaming experience. For a card in this price range it has a really good range of frequency which gives it a full natural sound. In short, this is a good upgrade for a good price.

There are a lot of good cards out there that you can get for a good price. I think that a lot of people get a little too picky about their graphics. You can get a fantastic experience on just about any budget.

I have had experience with both blackberry and iOS. Between those two I would say iOS hands down. The design is so simple and easy to use that it makes makes you wonder why you would ever go with anything else. The overall apple experience has just been better. You have a great operating system that keeps things simple along with an App for everything.

This card has a lot of things going for it. It's performance has exceeded my expectations and has taken my gaming to a whole different level. It looks pretty cool and seems to perform at a pretty low temperature. If you are looking for something to keep your room warm on a cool night than you should probably look else where. My only complaint is that the stock fan is a little loud for my taste. I will probably eventually try to replace the fan, but for now I am pretty pleased with my purchase.

These are awesome headphones. They are crazy comfortable and the sound quality is amazing. It doesn't matter what kind of music you listen too, your listening experience will change after you use a pair of these, music just doesn't sound the same after. If you are going to spend the money, you are crazy to buy anything else.

If you are a full blown graphic designer or you use your Mac to earn a living I would go with the iMac. If you are looking for an affordable Apple experience that offers everything the average user needs to get daily task done than I would go with the Mac Mini. I really do not think you will be disappointed with one or the other.

In reality any modern laptop should not have too much trouble handling the average users workload. By average user I mean web browsing, word processing, and media. I just finished up school and I found it worth it to buy a little nicer computer so you can use applications like Photoshop and illustrator so your presentations are above the rest. In most cases you will be able to get programs like this for a discount through your school.

Rickie Fowler has single handily brought puma into the golf fashion mainstream. I am big fan of this shirt as well as many others of puma. It may seem ridiculous, but pretty soon these types of shirts will be the norm and people wearing all black Nike shirts will be considered out of place. If you want something in style now I would go with something like this.

This is the one that I have. It was really easy to set up and I have never dropped a signal. It is very sensitive and about the only thing I can find to complain about is the price. I wish it was a little cheaper, but you get what you pay for. It is nice because you get a mouse too. I really like the design and I am glad I took the financial risk to buy it. It is at least worth checking out.

I would say go with Linux. Here is a better breakdown of why it might be the best thing out there for our kids:
http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/desktop-os/2010/10/17/...
It was a little tricky to get started in, but my main concern was the security of my kids. I found this to be the best route to go. I really think you kids will have no problem picking up any OS, so you might as well choose something safe compared to something that is the norm.

If you upgraded from what you originally had it might not be a bottle neck. It could by spyware or a virus. There are a lot of free test out there you can run to find out. Like Ethan said just make sure that you download from legit sites or use something like Norton.
From a hardware standpoint my guess is that it has something to do with the video chip set. I had this same problem and it was because I was overloading my video chipset. You might just have to up grade it and you will be fine. I am not an expert, but hopefully I gave you a place to get started.

I wish there was. I basically just use cans of compressed air and a small vacuum. It is pain, but it doesn't take too long. If you could invent something to solve this problem than you would be a very rich man.

I have researched this question for a while and I have came to this conclusion. Intel has better overall performance, but AMD has a better performance-->Price ratio. At the end of the day, if you have to money than go with the Intel, but if you are on a tighter budget go with the AMD. I really don't think you will be disappointed with either choice, especially if you are looking for something that is going to give you an all around computing experience.

The people above made some good points, but I am going to have to vote for the Xbox 360. Your kids will not stay young forever and they will appreciate the better gaming system as they get older. In my opinion the Wii can get a little boring. The Kinect has untapped potential and it can only get better. I really don't think you can go wrong with either choice.
|
|

Yeah I am really excited about this too. I haven't been able to find an exact release date, but the rumors is that it will be released sometime after April 2012. It is a whole new console and the best part is that it is suppose to be 1080p.

This is a good card and it has 5 external slots. I don't think you can beat the price and quality of this card. It had easy to follow instructions and I had no problems with the installation. I have never installed any hardware on my computer before and I thought it was easy. The only thing that was tricky was that it required power from a molex connector. Your PC should have this. The directions explain it better than I can. All and all a good card that does everything you would expect it too.

This might sound a little crazy, but have you ever heard of Water Cooling? It basically is just like a car's cooling system. There is a water pump and a heat sync designed to be cooled by water. As far as advantages this is one of the best methods out there for cooling if it is installed properly. There is very little noise and the temperature can be controlled.
Obviously there are some downsides too. Installation is not easy. It is fairly expensive and if one of the lines break your computer could be ruined. It might not be what you are looking for, but it is worth your time to check it out.
|
|
|
|
|
This is a little pricey, but I think it is well worth the money. It was easy to install and it runs quietly. It has LightScribe support. It does everything you would expect a Blu-ray burner to do. The only downside is that it is a little slow because if the Lightscribe. It is a good technology, but it is still developing. I will say that the quality of my disk have been top notch though. Nothing to complain about other than speed.

There is a lot of good stuff out there, but if you are looking for something free than give Runescape. I shouldn't say that it is completely free, some features require you to buy a subscription. The graphics are not out of this world, but they get the job done. It has a huge player base, and it is browser based so you do not need a crazy setup to have the full effect.
|
|
|
|
|
Anybody who doesn't say the PS3 is better is crazy. The graphic alone should make it your top choice. I remember when I was in school, our house had two 55 inch big screens in our living room. They were the same TV and we hooked up a PS3 to one and a 360 up to the other. The difference in graphics was almost laughable. The funny thing is that we did this so we would stop arguing over which console was the best. Needless to say the 360 crew did not do much smack talking after that.

I have an iPhone 4 and I plan to upgrade to an 5 once it comes out. I will only talk about the 4 since that is the one that I actually have experience with. The first thing that comes to mind is the display. I don't think there is a better one out there. I think apple calls it the retina display.
I like the feel of the iPhone. It is heavy enough to give it balance, but it does not feel bulky in your pocket. I do wish the screen was a little larger, but I hear that is one of the upgrades of the iPhone 5. I also really like the camera. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it replaces my Point and Shoot, but it is close and it works in candid moments. The final thing is the ease of use. The operating system is so simple that my 5 year old niece uses just like you are suppose to.
|
|
|
|
|
Apple is a very secretive company, so even if the rumors we do hear are legit they some how still make us feel uncomfortable when we try to assume anything. The most up to date release rumor I have heard is mid September. That was reported just a few days ago. I am guessing that it will be anytime between the end of August and the end of October. This is nothing official just what I have heard. I will see you in line.
